Lucky you, I never had a bicycle, I also had to buy my first gun. I walked up town to a hardware store that sold firearms and reloading supplies at noon one day while in High School, about 1962, bought a Remington Nylon 66 with a weaver scope for $40.00. They wrapped it up in brown paper, I walked back through town to the school, put it in my locker, handed it to the bus driver when I got on the bus, he handed it to me when I got off. You couldn't even thing about doing that now a days.
George, I too earned my purchase of my first rifle at 12 years of age. My used Marlin/Glenfield Model 60 cost me $50 in 1982. Every firearm I've owned I've paid for them all in 42 years.
I now have close to 50, 22cal Blued Steel and Hardwood rifles, from Ansultz to Winchester. Love a good old Vintage Boy's Rifle. Hamilton Rifles are especially dear to me
Had one of those when I was a kid. Just a great shooting reliable rifle. Wishing you and your family a Merry Christmas George! You're looking pretty good there! Keep up the fight!!
I'm 67 and I still have the first guns I ever shot, a Winchester model 67 and a model 68. They were my Dad's guns. My old eyes shoot the 68 with the peep sight much better.
Thank you Mr. Jones. I could not have said it better in regards to the current political situation. I really like the old store branded guns such as your rifle. They are an under appreciated part of history. A Merry Christmas to you and your family.
I especially enjoyed this video as that is the first rifle I got from my dad back in the mid-1970s unfortunately I sold it about 15 years ago for $100 and wish I had not done that. 😭
Hey george did you get a new vehicle for christmas looks good. I liked the old school Glenfield 22 rifle. I have my grandparents Glenfield model 60 vintage 1968 it's fun to shoot. Great video nice to see the old stuff once in a while. Have a merry christmas and happy new year to you and your family and cousin ED to. Thanks Mike in Minnesota.
I don’t think those squirrels will have a chance George. Squirrel gravy and biscuits coming right up. A little Simmons 22 rimfire scope will make it a tack driver. Awesome.
Just picked one of these up. Love the fact it feeds S, L and LR rounds. Even feeds the Aguila 20 gr rounds and super quite with the CCI pest control and small game rounds.
I have a Revelations Model 110M that I got from my LGS years ago. It's a made for Western Auto Supply version of the Marlin 81. These guns are so accurate and still affordable. I gave $100 for mine. It holds more than 15 and less than 20 (can't remember exactly) It's made better than anything you can buy brand new today for that price...but the parts aren't as available so when something does break, you might have a hard time replacing it. That's the only downside.
enjoyed the video, still have my Winchester model 67 single shot 22 lr it was used when my dad bought it think he paid 4 bucks for it still shoots great and very accurate grandsons got it out shooting it a while back take care brother hang in there👍👍
First rifle I paid for was Mossberg semi auto from a friend for $5. It had been rode hard and put away wet. Old Man Clegg, down at Clegg Furniture and Hardware gimme $5 toward a lightly used Winchester 190 Carbine with a 4x Weaver 22 scope, to which I threw in another $20 of my pipe movin'/hay buckin'/milkin and feedin' money, and tied that little Winchester to the handlebars of my Schwinn, and away we went. That was before any of the 4473 / BATF nonsense. Traded that rifle off in a fit of stupidity bout 12 years later, in the USAF fer somethin' shiny, I think a Browning T Bolt. Always missed that 190, and finally found another one, but I damned sure didnt give $25 for it!
I bought my first gun as well. I got a walking paper route for 4 bucks a week. I bought a single shotgun 410 revelation brand from Western Auto . I had it on lay away for several weeks before I could actually finish paying for it. The store owner ask my Daddy if it was OK., he approved I don't remember my exact age but around 9 or 10 .I am 78 now sure wished I had kept that little gun it wud be so nice to have it my small collection. Does anbody else remember the Revelations guns.
The problem with the kids today no interest in good stuff, when I was growing up in the early 70s that's all young men wanted was a gun not a Xbox whitch was really better, hunting was a lot that built the generation of strong men
Old man=old school. Like the old wood and steel rifles myself. That's all I have. I really enjoy your content.
I gave my dad’s Winchester model 67 to my oldest granddaughter when she was about 10 years old.
The 25 was my first rifle. I still have it to this day 40 years later. How time flys.

Love your content brotherhood, a forgeten time .
I had to buy my first bike, too. But my parents didn't want any guns in the house, so I never had one as a child.

Good luck hunting!👍🏽😊❤️🇺🇸
Nice rifle. Were the Glenfield barrels stamped JM like the Marlin’s were.
did you get a new truck
Did you trade the Nissan truck in on that good lookin' Gladiator??
you didnot say wrap the sling around your arm for a more steady hold.
i just turn my head more I'm left eye
Too bad that left-hand .22 bolt guns are almost impossible to find. Don't firearms manufacturers know that southpaws also have money to spend?
I got a savage axis in .223 lefty.
@@esquad5406 How ya fixed for .22 rimfire in lefty?
Hehe😂 funny
Made to LAST!
