      I watched a program on youtube a while ago. These people who were really OCD and went to other people's place to help them to clean them up. One lady used to use bleach on everything. I honestly don't know how anyone can breathe all those toxic chemical fumes without choking. I lived in a a house where the previous tenant used to bleach on the carpet before we moved in. I have asthma and ended up in the hospital on antibiotics and several other medications to help to recover from what that bleach did to me. It was so overpowering. I guess if you use it enough, you become immune to it.

    Dorothy's story was so painful to me. In the US we all live so far away from our families. I talked to my mother almost everyday for about an hour. I never could have imagined she was developing rapidly worsening dementia. She always told me she was great, she was getting her meals (in the US we have a program called Meals on Wheels that deliver meals to the elderly with mobility issues), she didn't have any errands to run (we had a list), and she was drinking water and everything else. I hadn't been to her house, 3 hours away, in seven months. It was wrecked, she was dehydrated, and all the packages for her meals were rotting on the floor. I won't get into it further but I have been CRUSHED by the guilt for nearly two years now. I moved her in with me until she started breaking out and wandering. I had to put her in assisted living and I go at least once a week. It's hard to imagine that it could get so bad so quickly.

    Even though my father and I used to clash, he lived with me and my husband for 18 years and I was there at the end when he finally succumbed to health problems. I'm grateful for you showing me this video because even though we didn't get along all that well, I'm glad I was there to help him. I think I would have felt very guilty if I had not been there to look after him if he was left on his own. This is a very common problem with older people who have lost their partners in life and the kids don't visit them through either neglect or living a long way away.
    Smanatha's story. She definitely has mental issues. Just goes to show that you should never take anyone's word for it. You need both sides of a story before you can make your assessment of the situation. I'm glad the single father now has a smell free home. Imagine having to live over that mess of an apartment.
    The last story. She must have been away a really long time for it to get into that state. It takes a while for it to build up to such a mess I'm thinking. So yes, I do think like you, she made the mess herself and was too ashamed to admit it. I think I would be too ashamed to own up to that mess as well to be honest so I don't really blame her at all.

    1:03 - I live alone. I'm 63. I haven't showered in a bit. At this point, I went to wash my slippers and take a bath. Sometimes we see ourselves in others and in that mirror we realize we need to make some changes. (I have ADHD so the not showering thing is kind of a constant. I can do better though.)

    I must say I put the sound on silent when you tell the stories. They make me sad and I feel helpless as I hear about such sadness in the world. For me it is enough when you say in general that the person was depressed, ill or had an injury that made cleaning hard for them. The full saga is just too much. The state of their living space tells a lot already and I admire your ability to fight the neglect.

    There is mental illness, and then there is Samantha. It's one thing to be suffering in your own self harm and it's another to totally disregard the well-being of others. I agree that not all mental illnesses can be observed but majority of them can. We can all agree that Samantha is unwell but if she looked normal and healthy it's probably because she only cares about herself. Everything she said about her neighbors and rental association is classic projection. She's telling you that she's dangerous, that she's a thief, and that she lies to your face. Mentally ill people are not criminals, but criminals to come extent are mentally ill. Dorothy was ill. Samantha is sick. See the difference?

    • @marie_84
      @marie_84 2 месяца назад +1

      She has a narcissistic personality disorder. Comes from untreated trauma. Gets developed between ages 8 - 12. They turn into criminals, liars, etc. They are dangerous. And they project. So they don't have to take responsibility for themselves. She's not in peace with herself. Narcs usually don't go to therapy & change, bc they were born with weak genes. People with strong genes don't develop NPD, when they get traumatized. They become stronger from that. In this case, there's not much anybody can do for her. Besides never turn their back on a person like her! Sleeping with open eyes around Narcissists......!

      @@Tavuskusu156 not everyone who lives like this is mentally ill. Some people are just lazy. I’ve seen all of Auri’s videos and hers is the only one where I think it’s laziness. But, of course I could be wrong 🤷🏼‍♀️

      @@GemKeno That's right. But the fact that she described her neighbours as dangerous substance users and schizophrenic people sounds paranoid to me. After all, what is the reason for that lie? You may lie about your own life and house (due to embarrassment) but why would she describe her neighbours like that, because her neighbours are completely innocent people in reality. This illogical fear of people around her is an example of persecutory delusion, in my opinion.

    I also feel for the people who may be too embarassed to look another person in the eye and admit, "yes, I made this mess myself". As you said, however the mess got there, now it is gone, and that person can enjoy a clean and safe place to live!
