  • For long time I wanted to have a leather apron for messy job, and sometimes I have free time in workshop, so I decide to make one.
    If I saw some interest in it I`ll make some stock so you be able to get it :)
    Also we launch YT sponsorship, and already have educational content about fretworks.
    Detailed description of video, tools and agents used will be a bit later on my Patreon.

    Hi Tanja,
    you are the living proof for a theory of mine:
    If you once mastered the principles of craftsmanship, it doesn't matter, whether it is wood, leather, fabric or anything else. It's the way, how you use your imagination, how you plan a work, how you hone your skills and what patience you give to the Job.
    And it gives you the chance to look over the fence and combine different worlds of craftsmanship. At least you can do your own guitar-straps 😅
    I started leatherwork during the Corona Lockdown and after a few belts, bags etc. had the idea of making a Telecaster with a tooled leather-top. It was a lot of work, but so much fun an turned out real great.
    Keep on doing your great guitar-work and your wonderful Videos!
    All the best wishes from Germany,
    Norbert

    Nice work! I did some saddle repair in my youth, and I know the assembly of that garment is not as simple as it looks. Did you create that pattern, or did you copy it? Great design. People always forget to create box welts for the sides and bottoms of pockets, and wind up having to "wet stretch" the pockets later. I suspect you will be adding another couple of small pockets at chest level later. Great Video, thanks!

    • @TanyaShpachuk
      @TanyaShpachuk  Год назад +8

      I worked with leather some time ago, and just thought that regular pockets design will be pretty useless for holding real tools, so I just made up this one:)
      And yes, assembling took a lot of time))

      Fabric will hold more dirt particles and not really functioned as a protection. One of my friends drop a bottle of superglue on his pants, well it was painful.
      And artificial leather is a basically foamed polyurethane and it is not durable at all, but in addition it can melts easily.
