    Yay I have been looking for something to help stop my painful leg cramps. Based on blood test and doctors advice I eat three times the normal amount of Kalium, Calcium combined with D vitamin, and magnesium.
    Still I wake up very often with leg cramps from hell. It goes all the way from the where the toes start, under the whole foot,all the way along the legs and on upwards. Sometimes all the way to the neck. Now I have had this nonstop for four days. I can’t walk on the leg, it hurts badly.
    I haven’t changed medicines, or routines or anything. Even a shower can set it of…
    So any and all tips and tricks are greatly appreciated ❤

    Night cramps related to heat and exercise - hydration is key. And adequate salt intake as mentioned. Two things for active cramps help to stop them immediately - take coconut water or pickles/pickle juice. Sounds weird but works every time!

    Thank you. I eat low carb, and that definitely increases leg cramps when sleeping in the early morning. I can prevent them if I do all these 3 things: take electrolytes, stretch my legs for a minute after I lie down to sleep, and go to bed by 9:45 pm (before I'm really, really tired).

    I've had leg cramps most of my life here and there. When I went Keto in 2018 and started running, they were brutal. I am not keto anymore, but I exercise every day. However, I think my mobility work / stretching probably needs to be increased. I am on tamoxifen for breast cancer and when I started that, the cramps increased ten fold. I get cramps from my toes, thru the ankle up through the calf. Usually in the middle of the night and sometimes in BOTH LEGS at the same time. I add electrolytes to my water, i take magnesium glycinate and drink pickle juice. Stretching before bed has helped. But I do sit a lot working remotely so that isnt helping.

    I can cramp my calves on command more like everytime I flex them and my legs are bent. I don't like it to say the least. I'm in pretty decent shape for not being really physically active. I drink a lot of water I'm wondering if I'm the only one who can do this, and how do I stop it?

    • @docjenfit
      @docjenfit  Год назад

      Maybe you could look at doing more consistent calf mobility and then work on strengthening the calves through that mobility. Sounds like your calves just aren't used to a certain level of contraction.

      I have the same problem and I’m physically active with strong calves. One thing I noticed quite some time back…If I drink or eat anything with sugar in it, my cramps will be extremely worse and almost guaranteed to happen that night…and even during the day if I brand just the wrong way.

    So cramping anywhere is an unknown cause, I heard a lot of talk of legs. Thankfully the only time I get that is diving & totally can see how it’s related to hydration there. But my core/stomach cramps every time I attempt crow! Is there something different with the intestinal area? Or same causes / preventions?

    • @docjenfit
      @docjenfit  Год назад

      Could just be that the stomach muscles aren't quite prepared for the contraction required for the crow position! You could try breathing on your belly with a pillow or rolled up towel in your abdomen. This can help with some relaxation in that abdomen area.
