I think that it was trying to mutate the body into some more deadly and powerfull form , but as the abuse dna already took and was taking still started to take a huge toll , along with fact how it had to propably consume more than a ton to come back from a carcass to a train cart sized monstrosity .
@@f.e.areproduce5298 i like G4 form of the remake. Never liked the dog form. Plus I liked how it perfectly shows how the virus is now destroying his body. Too much damage has left him into a shambling biomass
The remake makes it worse, seeing as how he actively groans out in pain and gets a few words out in his first form! By the time G levels up to the second, he's probably still aware, but now incapable of doing anything besides observing. If there was any semblance of the original Birkin influencing G at any point, I think it's safe to say it's gone by the second form, and then so is he by the third.
Tyrant and William are two separate things, William mutated due to injecting him self with the G-Virus he was working on when Umbrella tried stealing it from him. Tyrants aka Model T-103s are created using the T-Virus and were being mass produced, then there's Nemesis who is also a T-103 Tyrant (same as MR. X) but they used the NA parasite instead which wielded better results then the MR. X version.
The only reason I haven't beaten RE2 Remake with both Claire and Leon is because the monsters are 100000% Nightmare Fuel. Also Mr X. Those footsteps follow you outside of the game!
@@leandrong I disagree, the story of the REmake was better but I will agree that there is a glaring problem with A&B scenarios repeating certain events. Like Mr. X lifting the helicopter and every Birkin fight. To me that felt very lazy or as if they run out of time.
@@leandrong While I wish they had more scenes together I don't think OG 2 did it any better. I replayed OG 2 lot after REmake 2 and they had about the same screen time together in both. Same applies to Sherry, OG 2 she wasn't too broken hearted at the end, plus humor tends to be our response to horrible events to help us not completely break down
The Lickers look amazing in the remake, not to mention that they cover ground extremely fast. Also makes me think how much of a problem the Hunters are going to be in RE3 remake.
One thing I loved about RE2make, in every transformation, you can still see remains of William. Like, even in the final form, his face is stretched on one of the rotating mounds of flesh in the corner and it wears a huge expression of pure agony
I think the original design could have been incorporated into the remake in two possible ways. Firstly, they could have had all of the Ivy zombies become more “matured” in Second Run, growing large leaves around their Venus flytrap mouths, consuming the human arms to sprout larger vines their place, and employing a whip/spit attack in addition to an instantly killing grab. Secondly, perhaps the original Ivy design could have been buffed in size and repurposed as a new boss for the remake, acting as an equivalent to the “Rat King” in The Last of Us: Part II.
To be capable of speech, or any vocal audio, you need vocal cords and a lung. See where the problem lies here? The eye blocks the “throat” of that THING, making it impossible for any sound to get through. Unless the entire interior acted as one giant lung and the eye doubled as vocal cords.
Well that's the soundtrack of the original. The original RE's had the best soundtracks, but the most remarkable is RE2's. They did a superior job at making a soundtrack that builds atmosphere and fits every room. As for the remake, only making sparkly graphics and poor writing came in mind I guess. As well as zero attention to music.
Brandon Hernandez zero attention? Absolutely not. The remake’s licker theme is atmospheric as hell (better than the original) the Cerberus tune got my heart racing, and the raccoon city theme was epic in its own right. And I could mention a few other pieces like some of the boss themes, so to say that zero attention was given is to undercut any actual effort the developers made in writing new music for the remake.
@@eustace8520 And poor writing? I mean it was still exactly the same, only except some details her altered to make it more natural. Plus the orphanage section was a welcome addition. Only edge the original had over the remake is the presence of an alternate Leon A Claire B scenario
@@maiseree1511 The stories are about the same concept, but they're not the same. Let's take a look at Ben; his role in the original was revealing that Chief Irons was working with umbrella. He also knows a lot of the bad things going on with umbrella, and what they've done. He wasn't locked in (like in the remake) just for a ID. He locked himself in, and gives you important information. Chief Irons is another character who got changed for the worst. Now he's just a one-dimensional villain. They didn't keep him mysterious, and there's just something about him that you can't trust him. Ada Wong is almost the same, but some of the changes do bother me. Firstly, the kiss with Leon just felt forced. It's not like in the original where their bond seemed genuine (at least for me, right). They both confess about how they feel about each other. This is a small fuzz, but Ada gets slashed by G3 in the original, and in the remake she's impaled by an open sewer pipe! That's not the only problem: Ada became helpless in their. That's not Ada! Lastly I am going to talk about characters that I have minor problems with: Annette was turned into a whiny little baby that things turned to hell. HUNK doesn't keep his cool. That truck driver at the end of the remake was unecessary. In the beginning it shows that there are already zombies outside the radius of Raccoon City; therefore, the nuke (that is used in RE3) is useless. Also, the characters cus too much. It gets pretty annoying and repetitive. Just go play the original game, or watch a walkthrough that shows all the cutscenes if you don't own it. If someone is going to make a remake of something, they should improve upon the original material. But it seems that the developers ignored everything except graphics and gameplay. If people would just pay attention to the details of the original game: the soundtrack, story, and characters. They'd see it's better. That's why I criticize the game, and from the looks of things, nobody here will agree with me. People automatically assume I hate the remake. I like to play it, but it's not perfect.
I really like how the remake super tyrant is a monster that's desperately clinging together to accomplish it's mission and that it's claws look like weaponized bone shards. But I really want to see a high fidelity ultimate weapon too.
Donatelia Sakura i am also arachnophobic but i wish they put spiders in the sewer section of the game , by using the game engine to make them horrible just to look at and with a good ambiance, it could have been one of the most scariest part of the game
Porgue Porgue when Metro exedus did. something like that holy shit. Not even being drunk could make me go throw that tunnel screaming like a little girl. XD
I do miss the sleek the menacing nature of G3 from Darkside, although logically the REmake's design makes more sense in terms of natural progression. Both designs are good, but I feel Chronicles rendition gave you the sense that you were up against a being above humanity.
To be honest, I prefered the OG mutated Tyrant over the new one, it has a look of "ultimate weapon" to it. After losing its power limiter Tyrants undergo a very specific mutation that is coded within the virus itself, giving them their very recognizable look and traits, I.E, huge claws, visible heart, hardened skin. the Remake version looks more like a regular zombie imo. Meanwhile, I do like the chaotic nature of the G virus, it doesn't follow any specific design when it mutates its host, only absorbs organic matter, break it down, include it with its own and make itself bigger and stronger but in turn it makes the creature much more grotesque and disturbing. however, I don't like the giant eye in the mouth of the slug form, that's classic RE stuff but on G, that was dumb, just keep it a giant gaping maw that spells out doom if you go near it, which is what happens if you don't kill G in the OG, he fucking eats you. I fail to see how he would kill you with this eye in the way, except crush you against a wall with the biomass.
I think the change in the tyrants appearance is do to the nature of the mutation trigger. Keep in mind in the original it fell into a vat of molten steel and lost it's entire limiter while in the remake it got caught in an explosion and lost part of it's limiter instead of all of it.
I’d like to point out that the way Mr. X took damage had an effect on his appearance when he mutates. In RE2 content before the remake, Mr. X took a molten material bath that scorched his entire body and complete burned off all of his limiter clothing, while Remake Mr. X was being constantly bombarded with explosions that not only took bits of his limiter off little by little but also chunks of his flesh. Sadly for Mr. X, it seems that the T-virus in his body doesn’t give regenerative benefits like the G-virus and his exposed body just mutates without any kind of repairing of damaged tissues. I think it’s actually perfectly fine how he looks in the remake given the circumstances of how he ended up in that condition.
It seems as though RE2 remake generally went for more visceral and gruesome designs with its creatures, whereas Darkside had more defined and uniform features.
I think the alligator was the only enemy that killed me in the main game (remake). I wasn't expecting a chase sequence, but once I got into it, I figured I'd just have to avoid obstacles like a Crash Bandicoot sequence. Having just played a little bit of Evil Within with my brother, I had criticized that just a day or so before because I hate trial-and-error chase sequences where the camera is looking BEHIND you, where you can't even see what you're supposed to be avoiding and it becomes a lame memorization puzzle with slow loading screens. Fortunately, what you're really supposed to do is focus on the alligator and move left or right to avoid its mouth as it leaps for you. I got chastised by the game for staying in the center and getting killed, which I suppose would be fair in a vacuum, but considering most games like to do it the way Evil Within did, it was kind of infuriating. I got it the second time around, though, so no real loss. There was a segment towards the end where I got blocked by a giant pile of trash on the right side, but it didn't actually get me killed so I forgive it. It's a very tense situation, not overly long, and fairly good for the atmosphere, though I do kinda wish it were a real boss fight still. Maybe with some rubble or gates you can shoot to close the alligator in for a moment and wittle it down. A lot of restructuring would have to happen to make that work now, because you'd be very low on ammo, but had it been planned originally it would have been nice. I'm not complaining, though, there wasn't much to the original boss fight anyway, it was basically just "shoot, back up, shoot, back up, shoot" because of the narrow area to begin with.
Super tyrant looked so much better in dark side chronicles and the original game, I felt he looked grotesque just for the sake of looking grotesque in the remake and didn’t really seem like it was a more powerful upgrade to the tyrant
It's an interesting comparison. You would assume that the remake would be better in all the updates but some of the designs in dark side still look better imo. The eye on Birkin 1 is a lot more creepy in its movements.
The Darkside Chronicles designs are 100% loyal to the 98's concept art. Not mad with the remake models tho, they look fantastic and are a reinterpretation of the classics
Is No One Gonna Talk About How You Edited The Original Stage 2 & 3 Themes For G-Birkin In This Video To Make It Sound Like Something Out Of Darkside Chronicles? It's Pretty Good! :)
Darkside Chronicles: Appeared similar to the RE2 Original, but modeled and bit detailed. RE2 Remake: Quite similar to the original, but the appearances are far different and grotesque to each other. Also, even more eyeballs.
I hope There a Darkside Cronicle Remake Is Gonna Awesome Bonus: At 4:19 If on My House has That's Giant Things Am Gonna Prepare My Flamesthrower or Machete
I've noticed how the enemies in the remake just look like fleshy blobs or inside-out intestines. The Dark Side Chronicles stayed faithful to the original models which are better in my opinion.
I'd like to understand how is more realism not staying faithful to the original? They made them look far better in terms on how they would look like with a bit of added realism instead of generic anime-looking monsters from both the Darkside Chronicles and the original game. You also have to realize that the RE Engine adds more fidelity and detail towards everything in the games, hence their realistic fleshy-like appearances. Even the designs from Operation Raccoon City in CGI, which used improved CGI designs from the Darkside Chronicles, couldn't have made them look this good either. Still, it's funny how there were some people bashing on the Darkside Chronicles for not staying faithful to the original with its narrative, designs, and some of its soundtrack for being out of tune (like the Escape from Laboratory theme for example) and the same people now praise the game as if they never given it flame at all by the time the Remake comes out. This is why the RE community is what it is; they can't make up their minds for anything at all.
@@EpsilonChurchRVB Don't include me in that group, you're generalizing. Generic anime monsters? What are they now? Generic modern anime monsters? You're using cheap criticism that can be applied to anything. It is obvious why they look better, it's newer technology. Also, realism cannot be applied here. The thing can look however it wants, literally. And you can't deny that they look like meat sacs. Now we are just judging the book's cover, what's inside is what counts the most. The original had a storyline that made sense; the characters weren't saying "fuck" or "asshole" over and over (fun fact: they never cuss in the original); the B scenarios are worth playing; the soundtrack is amazing; and it may not be the funnest to play, but to me it is more replayable because of how much more content it provides. The remake is good for... Infinite rocket launcher and gameplay, because you know, it's a game. Don't get me wrong, I like the remake, but it's definitely not a masterpiece.
Does anyone else feel that with the advances in tech we've run into the problem of over detailing, I mean I love both variations of birkins forms and evolution but I feel with Darkside his design and forms are so much cleaner and recognizable, where in the remake it feel like almost everything except for his silhouette is drowned out by all the detail
The variety of enemies from the original is missed, such as spiders, moths, crows, and super likers, but without a doubt the remake gets the applause for making its enemies look more grotesque and disgusting than they already were.
Tobbymano Yeah, the game would have been a lot scarier if they were included. Imagine how much anxiety people would get seeing spiders in the sewers. Apparently, cutting out the spiders was a creative decision. They didn’t fit with the more realistic tone and style the remake was going for. They were too “B-movie”, I guess. I’m assuming they also cut the evolved Lickers because, gameplay-wise, they were the same as the regular Lickers, except that they inflicted poison status. The G-adults already filled that role.
Mr.X has this dead emotions in his eyes that makes me feel uneasy along with his loudass footsteps makes me run for my life. Nemisis on the other hand is in a whole new level his face is not as scary but he is bigger and He Fucking Runs and jumps that is so damn scary
The game was good but it did miss a few things and some creative lazziness was noticed one was the Ivy , two was the super tyrant turned into a regular tyrant and 3 webspiners are missing amongst others, all in all not a bad game .
@Robert Kenny it makes sence to you but not to me , why tone it down at all we already had the tyrant from the first remake , im aware they also took creative liberties on the first remake as well but rather added to the story even adding some new monsters but not removed anything original , well we all have our own opinions but this is the reason why i felt the need to speak up , i felt it missed out on what should have been left intact or they could have added another face off between leon and mr.x . It is what it is and it cant be changed and like i said all in all its still a good game , have a nice day .
I wish they did. At least one tarantula just hanging out on the wall. They could've at least made an easter egg with an old enemy that is hidden in a secret room. Just like in the original. Remember that one room in the laboratory in the blue side that requires you to play the game twice to get each character's handprint? From all the videos I've seen, everyone's just forgotten about this. They should've added this in the remake.

The Resident Evil 2 Remake Birkin just looks amazing. It shows all of the effort they put into the game to make it lol. As realistic as possible, which they succeeded
I feel like the original zombie dog was better. At the speeds they move at in the remake and the overall darkness in their section it made it pretty hard to even see the patches making them feel like normal dogs as opposed to a zombie of sorts.
G-Virus 3 Birkin onwards are the most scary for me. There's nothing left of him, absolutely NOTHING gives a sign of that thing being human once. Birkin is gone,it's all G now.
To be perfectly honest the Super Tyrant looking that different from how he did in the original makes perfect sense when you consider the fact that he was caught in a couple of explosions caused by the labs self destruct system, as opposed to falling into vat of molten lava like in the original. I still think he should have had claws on both arms though.
Anyone know the name of the OST track playing when the video reaches G phase 1 of Birkin? Or at least when it plays in the game? I haven’t played the game itself, but I have seen several videos, and it’s awesome!
I am not sure, but I do believe this is played in the Darkside Chronicles. Either when in Leon-Klauser campaign, or Leon-Claire campaign, they were all boss theme, so it shouldn't be that hard to find.
watching this made me remember how disappointed I am that we never really got to see Birkin evolve and transform throughout the game (changing between forms like stage 3-4)
@@TimeBomb014X I do know about the change from 2 - 3 and it is cool looking. But afterwards you don't see anything. The change from 2 -3 happens off camera and then Birkin in appears in the different stage afterwards. That quick scene in Claire's story is all we really get

@@Jack.Martson Well no, a remake is literally remaking the game from scratch. Resident Evil 2 fully remade the game with amazing graphics that give a whole new insight on the original. That's what a Remake is, and REimageining team did great
Okay, I'll admit that Super Tyrant in the remake looked bit nerfed. But then again, he mainly attacks with his right arm anyway so it kinda makes sense why they only made his right side mutate. (Note: Mr. X gets impaled in his chest by William earlier. Which probably explains why only his right side changed and not his whole body.)
Isn't there 2 tyrants because how did the tyrant got in impaled on Leon story I thought the explosion killed the second tyrant than the first one that chased claire and sherry came wasn't that on claire story I feel like there more than one tyrant
To each their own, thought the Remake was vastly superior in nearly every design I saw. Especially when it come to the super tyrant, where the Remake really emphasizes just how unstoppable the tyrant is, considering his body is almost falling apart. Where as the darkside tyrant is a bit too much for my taste, looks cheesy and over the top, good design back in the day but I’m glad they went somewhere new.
@@sandorthegreat9678 The designs of the original look less bulkier, but look tougher in terms of taking a bullet. To me, the enemies in the remake look a little too fleshy. In the original G's skin started turning blacker as it evolved, and it looks refined. Whereas the remake the thing just kept growing limbs.
Brandon Hernandez very true, and honestly I’m coming from the perspective of someone who never grew up playing the original Re 2 or darkside so maybe that’s has something to do with it. I actually love the fleshy, meaty look to the G-virus, on top of just looking beautifully gross, it gives me alien vibes and the notion of just how much this virus can mutate the body
@@eustace8520 Maybe they did that because of the engine and each shot can peel the skin off. Again its just an idea. Birkin is a hit or miss for me the first mutation is great the second his head is too thin i like the transformation scene thought. While 3 is fantastic in the remake and look demonic it look kinda silly in darkside and too slim he looked buffier in the original on PS1. It really depends for me.
They definitely used some Lovecraftian influences on anything to do with the G virus, none of the G monsters including Birkin had an easily discernible form by the end and would often morph to attack.
Man the Tyrant from the older game seems to be way creepier to me lol. The new version just looks like he is going to work.... like it's just another day in the office.

Remake Super Tyrant is Nemesis with Nightmare's arm
No no, the remake tyrant is thanos
@Robert Kenny No. DC tyrant look more like what supposed to be
Scary how so much detail has been implemented unto the models of the RE2 remake
Soooo sick how williams body is still seen even though the tyrant took over.. almost like hes a passenger in his own body now
G is not a Tyrant
Tyrant and William are two separate things, William mutated due to injecting him self with the G-Virus he was working on when Umbrella tried stealing it from him. Tyrants aka Model T-103s are created using the T-Virus and were being mass produced, then there's Nemesis who is also a T-103 Tyrant (same as MR. X) but they used the NA parasite instead which wielded better results then the MR. X version.

@@leandrong I disagree, the story of the REmake was better but I will agree that there is a glaring problem with A&B scenarios repeating certain events. Like Mr. X lifting the helicopter and every Birkin fight. To me that felt very lazy or as if they run out of time.

One thing I loved about RE2make, in every transformation, you can still see remains of William. Like, even in the final form, his face is stretched on one of the rotating mounds of flesh in the corner and it wears a huge expression of pure agony
The evil prick deserved it tho😉
He earned every bit of agony he went through.
Well he did this to himself
Man was always a monster before he became one.
I personally prefer the older Ivy, but I’d love to see it remade as a model.
@boobie connoisseur
The OG ivy is a human and plant hybrid.
Giant teeth filled gaping mouth leading to a huge exposed eye? RE LOGIC!
How is that thing even able to scream at this point?
@@breadbug6101 Air, i guess?
To be capable of speech, or any vocal audio, you need vocal cords and a lung.
See where the problem lies here? The eye blocks the “throat” of that THING, making it impossible for any sound to get through.

@@breadbug6101 Bruh, this is Resident Evil. Don't even try to tackle it with logic.
Maybe the remaining organs of the person ?
hearing this music makes me creeped out
Birkin G stage 4 remade is actually kinda cool
Lastly I am going to talk about characters that I have minor problems with:
Annette was turned into a whiny little baby that things turned to hell.
@@eustace8520 I agree with you, man. I love the remake so much, but I hate it for not doing its best in things we all know it could do a lot better!

Same opinion

@@YOYODODO Hello. Please, Resident Evil 4, Resident Evil 6, Resident Evil Racoon City. Good bye.
I think the new G3 having blunt, human-like teeth is actually creepier than him having generic "razor sharp" teeth.
The way the darkside chronicles dog twitches like that makes me a little anxious.
It's the same animation of the wolves in RE4
The dark side tried to honor how the originals look while REmake gave them a more realistic look and fined out some things

I've noticed how the enemies in the remake just look like fleshy blobs or inside-out intestines. The Dark Side Chronicles stayed faithful to the original models which are better in my opinion.
I think that's because for the remake they scanned in real meat and carcasses for some of the 3D models including birkin and the lickers.

Does anyone else feel that with the advances in tech we've run into the problem of over detailing, I mean I love both variations of birkins forms and evolution but I feel with Darkside his design and forms are so much cleaner and recognizable, where in the remake it feel like almost everything except for his silhouette is drowned out by all the detail
overdesigned happened. Too much detail detracts the whole picture.

Aro San060607 I know, but I was curious what platform the footage is from.

To each their own, thought the Remake was vastly superior in nearly every design I saw. Especially when it come to the super tyrant, where the Remake really emphasizes just how unstoppable the tyrant is, considering his body is almost falling apart. Brandon Hernandez very true, and honestly I’m coming from the perspective of someone who never grew up playing the original Re 2 or darkside so maybe that’s has something to do with it.
