  • Every year I Curate the whole collection and rewatch movies that don't get enough love to decide to keep, sell, or donate them. Movie collection decluttering and organizing in 2024. Not every movie is for everyone but there is a movie for everybody.

    Every so often I like to go through my collection & question myself if I'm truly going to watch certain titles again & if not pull them from the shelf & get rid of them. Some things are one time watches & that's ok. Rather pass them along then just have them sitting on my shelf taking up space, which is always needed as a collector.

    I feel the same as you about some movies being in the "one and done" category. For the last few years, I've been going through my collections (movie, records, books) and giving away those items I don't need to keep. I feel like I'm recycling things back into the culture and letting someone else discover them. Who knows? What you and I don't particularly like could turn out to be someone's holy grail that they've been searching for. By the way, I didn't get around to watching the original Pet Semetary until just a few years ago, and I wasn't all that crazy about it either. I also gave away Ted 1 & 2. You have a very cool movie room!

      It’s great when I’m not the only one with an odd opinion on a movie for years I’ve been hearing how great Pet cemetery is. Thanks the room is coming along slowly still not big enough to house the whole collection but I’m hoping to do a room tour very soon. To a point I’ll try and save every VHS I can but glad to put movies back into the wild sometimes I forget we aren’t all on the same journey at the same time others might discover something they love.

    You’re a much stronger man than I. I’d like to thin my collection out to make way for the new, but it’s just so hard to do.

      I understand if I didn’t actively force myself to do it every year I’d have giant piles on the floor of never watch again titles

    Great video! I agree with your assessment of some of these movies being a “one and done”. Not bad…just not worth watching multiple times.

      Glad you enjoyed it! Although I want to save every movie from being lost. There’s no point in keeping them all

    It's great to see you uploading again, mate. I was worried you'd turned into a pile of goop or something.

    I have some movies I thought about getting rid of but in the back of my mind I think what if down the line i want to re-buy and the prices and gone up something stupid for that title

      I completely understand the frustration is real. The thing I do to help with that is make a pile of films I haven’t watched in a while if I don’t love it anymore or find myself getting bored it goes in the donate pile. If it’s a movie I know is coming to 4k and want the upgrade I’ll trade it into the used bookstore before everyone else does.

    You telling me it's bad to have the same 4 copies of the same title? Hisss I'm not getting rid of my precious!

      It’s hard to do even though I knew I was never going to watch those again they sat on my desk for 3 weeks traded them in and got back $45 bucks in store credit a great way to get new movies imo.

      I’m glad you enjoyed it and sorry I didn’t not sure why but I just can’t get into it but everything about the film is in my wheelhouse I was surprised I didn’t. It was a day one purchase only watched it once and never again until last week I tried to justify keeping it. Happy to pass it along to someone who will appreciate it.

    Great video man, but your collection should refect you. I have weird tastes in movies and some opinions and personal preferences that would make most wanna shoot me. For instamce I thought "The Bad News Bears" and even Godfather One Two and Three, are way over rated. I think Casino, Goodfellas are the pinncle of the genre. Please dont kill me.

      @80sMadeConsumer  5 месяцев назад

      Thanks brother and that’s the whole reason I do this not every movie is for everyone, most people are stuck talking about the same movies. I agree the Godfather movies are good but overrated, I think The Bad News Bears original from the 70s is great but I found it on my own so I thought it was a forgotten hidden gem. Completely agree that Casino Goodfellas Donnie Brasco are the greatest mob movies of all time. Don’t worry about weird tastes I love movies most find boring or stupid, if you haven’t check out Hell Comes to Frogtown extremely fun and underrated movie.
