Greatest rock ( royalty ) band in the world seen them in Pittsburgh pa ( CIVIC Arena )1982 and Tommy tour in Pittsburgh pa at ( 3 Rivers Stadium ) Greatest showes ever . 😊😊
I'm a Canadian who was at this show in TO in 1982. One of the great experiences of my life. And I have watched it again and again and again and again and again... . And will forevermore.
What about cassette from that night ? I remember this being live on N.Y. radio 95.5 WPLJ. Then in spring I believe 1983 they had an edited version on HBO. I was so shocked thinking they are so cool even HbO was involved. I think they cut out “cry if you want” and maybe Doctor Jimmy..? I can’t recall exactly. WPLJ had a contest fall of 1982 to send in postcard to be picked for free trip to Toronto for this show. Spent like whatever 100 postcards cost - thinking that was way too much and I’d maybe win! Habhahaha. Yea ok. I just hate their clothes the 80s style and “Young Man Blues”!? Uhhhhh. NO 😅
Amazing!! I remember taping this concert on my JVC boom box as it was aired live on the radio in Norfolk,Virginia. Thank you for sharing this and bringing it back.

Hate to be a debbie downer but The who were never the same after moon passed..townsend's whole 80's look was dreadful..smh lol..watch some of their woodstock performance..now THAT was the who!
I agree with the sentiment, but I saw them play a three hour show in '89 that still ranks as one of the best shows I've ever seen. They had an intensity and great audience connection. I don't think anyone took a bathroom break that night. Simon Phillips was the drummer for that tour. Much better suited.
I fail to see what was so bad about Kenney Jones' drumming. I get it, he isn't Keith Moon but Keith was a one of a kind. My only complaint is he never used that gong. Don't make the roadies set that thing up if you aren't going to use it.
@@normwho7 Roger seems to have problems with lots of people. Rabbit is off the tour now because Roger has a problem with him. You don't have to be best friends just work together.
How YT dares suggest me "this" 🤬🤢 "The Who" is dead in September 1978 in London after a 14 yrs" great career. No success anymore for these men who should have changed their name. For u Pete 🖕
@@patricksommers2629Actually it was Joe Jackson, who was a last minute replacement as The Clash were booked on SNL (I believe) and couldn’t make the connection. I was there and remember it distinctly. Joe was singing “Is She Really Goin’ Out With Him?”,and it was a direct hit. Fed to the lions, poor Joe.

I was there. The Clash and Eddie Money warmed up. The Clash was run off the stage. I'm positive this was in September and not December
that was October 82
Eddie left after getting a hot dog in the face!

Omg yes, not sure why I said Eddie! 🤦♂️ i wasnt at it, my brother was though and witnessed the hot dog incident!
December was the cable broadcast date. It seems to me it was on Showtime, but I don't remember for sure.
