Still almost working - I had to downgrade from php8 to php7.4. The only thing you have to do.. you have to enter all (3-4?) conf files from apache as well to change the path, thank you!

is possible keep a older version of php and a recent version of apache? I have a server with php 5.5.38 and apache 2.4.55, but xampp doesnt have these specific configurations. My idea is downgrade php and keep a recent apache version, but this is'nt workingg. Do you have any idea what to do? Maybe there are configuration inside apache folder

Thanks, I was trying to do a tutorial of laravel but mid way turns out the version used in it is Laravel 5.8 meanwhile I got Laravel 8 so I had to downgrade but Laravel 5.8 doesn't work in PHP 8 so i had to downgrade the PHP first.

an upgrade might not work as xammp might not be in a position to read the files... but it doesn't hurt to try.
