He isn't lying, he's a regular kind of guy. Ace is Genuinely cool. I met him in Shreveport once and the next time he was in Louisiana, he had tickets waiting for me at will call and I got to go backstage and visit him again. Great Great guy!
Completely honest except for the fact that the model from Texas he talks about, Kim Rowe, gave birth to his daughter, who he never even acknowledged. I always wondered how they were able to get so many groupies to sleep with them or convince them they were the real members of Kiss when nobody knew who they were or what they looked like without their makeup back then. I'm sure Gene could prove who he was to groupies just by sticking out his tongue, lol. It must have been awesome to be a part of a huge touring successful band back in the mid to late 70s. Ace was the guy who had a little army of invisible soldiers. At the hotels he would be in the hallway hunched down giving orders for his tiny combatants in a huddle. Seemingly talking to individuals with names and prior feats of glory. Ace is half Cherokee so it is well within their lore about the "Little People" called Skill’li (which means ghost witches). i love it when i hear Rush drug stories. i'm not exactly pro-drugs (i do drink a bit, smoke the occasional joint, and have tried a few hallucinogens, so i ain't no saint), but i get a kick because my Rush-obsessed friends are always warning everybody else about the dangers of using whatever; they always thought Rush were clean-cut fellas and quite the conservative example within rocknroll. as if Rush on tour were always praying (they were NOT Stryper) or doing math (maybe they were doing math...on drugs) haha. love Rush 1974-1984, though. as for Ace, dude used to be my hero when i discovered rock music back in 1980, thru Kiss. he's still great. saw him live twice in...2017 or 18? can't remember. his Kiss solo album from 1978 is still one of my Top 25 lps of all time, and his songs with Kiss were always the hardest and less stupid (rocket ride, shock me, strange ways, save your love, torped girl, cold gin... c'mon, the guy's a hard rockin', rolling stone-totin', glam genius). great interview!
Bob is pretty damned old is what he's doing! Lol I saw kiss in 74 and Bob Segar opened for them. I never got a chance to see Bob and his band again. I realize now how lucky I was to ever get to see them. No dis on kiss. Which was a great show! But I've grown to appreciate Bob's music more over the years!
so use to hearing Paul and Gene talk, you can hear the night and day contrast how down to earth Ace is and how much more interesting the stories are, you dont have to wonder if he is telling the truth like with Paul and Gene. And he doesnt need a interviewer LOL. Just introduce him and let it ride.
How the hell can you not love Ace. "...we got attacked by a group of Japanese girls dressed in Nazi uniforms..." ROFL!!!! I bet hanging out with Ace, you'd hear a billion great stories.
When I was first starting to love kiss they were touring with rush, what a show that had to be, awesome. I was way too young, later in the years kiss got greedy and stopped having badass bands open. I saw them several times and they had a local crap band open, and I saw them once with Ted Nugent that was as good of an opener they had after the many times I saw them anyway
well gene and paul made sure everything moved forward, they weren't partier's, they were definately more serious about everything and porb had to deal with a lot of crap from both ace and peter however ace and peter are prob the coolest members and there's no kiss as we know it today without either of them, even with their faults, so without taking sides if you don't have ace or peter you prob have a different band.
I remember the Australian tour well , I was 16 and all of my friends and I dressed up as our favourite band member and went down to Town Hall in Sydney to see the mayor give the guys the key to the city What Ace didn’t mention was there was so much anger that Peter had just been thrown out and we didn’t want to accept Eric , I often think of how he must have felt because it was obvious from the crowds reaction to him that he was unwanted

Very true 👍🤘
Alive is the best Kiss album with Ace's solo album being the 2nd.
How the hell can you not love Ace. "...we got attacked by a group of Japanese girls dressed in Nazi uniforms..." ROFL!!!! I bet hanging out with Ace, you'd hear a billion great stories.
Ace Is a good guy.
Wonder if there will be any comedy anecdotes from Gene & Paul's hologram 'tour'.
Not often do you see a shirt that matches the entire room you are in.
that room is dope af
Rockin that bald spot 😅😅😄😄😂😂🤣🤣😂😂
8:45 When ACE says "she got involved with the wrong kind of people" he seems to have overlooked she was involved with him.
and he was the one who knocked her up and refused to acknowledge her or his child afterwards and she ended up committing suicide
How terrible - Ace has always acted like a dirtbag. @@raaawkstaaar
Ace talking about the blonde, sure had a lot of nuances of New York Groove.
The image of Geddy Lee with groupies is scary.
probably fared better than Ace
Ace was known to be a very funny man in the industry. He needs to write a biography of his life and narrate on audible!
you must be a new fan, he had a bio published several years ago
Great to see Noel Edmonds back doing what he does best.
Looks like he's in a nightclub not a studio!😂
When I was first starting to love kiss they were touring with rush, what a show that had to be, awesome. I was way too young, later in the years kiss got greedy and stopped having badass bands open. I saw them several times and they had a local crap band open, and I saw them once with Ted Nugent that was as good of an opener they had after the many times I saw them anyway
Ace come back to Australia let’s put on a show
His recollection sounds like he listened to Bill Aucoin’s memoirs.
well gene and paul made sure everything moved forward, they weren't partier's, they were definately more serious about everything and porb had to deal with a lot of crap from both ace and peter however ace and peter are prob the coolest members and there's no kiss as we know it today without either of them, even with their faults, so without taking sides if you don't have ace or peter you prob have a different band.
Hey Ace 👋 Edward Van Halen was & still is my fave guitarist of Alltime. have a good day
Then go watch ! EVH
Ace resembles Zoot the sax player from the Muppet Band
You know what they say about meeting your heroes.
I remember the Australian tour well , I was 16 and all of my friends and I dressed up as our favourite band member and went down to Town Hall in Sydney to see the mayor give the guys the key to the city
What Ace didn’t mention was there was so much anger that Peter had just been thrown out and we didn’t want to accept Eric , I often think of how he must have felt because it was obvious from the crowds reaction to him that he was unwanted
