I visited Nagano and Matsumoto back in 2016. I have good friends in Japan and they showed me around. I loved the fresh air, wonderful Snow Monkey Mountain and the scenery and food. I had some katsudon and lovely buckwheat cold noodles, I still remember. My picture of Matsumoto Castle is my desktop wallpaper to this day. I had the most wonderful time!

"All right, I've decided that in the upcoming year, I'll be resigning from my 9-6 job as a product person to embark on a journey of extensive travel. Witnessing the passing of several close friends has underscored the brevity of life, prompting me to seek meaningful experiences and make the most out of each moment."

Lovely video. You captured Kokuya Ryokan and the snow monkey park perfectly. The first couple of times we went to Yudanaka we stayed at Kokuya. Brilliant ryokan. The food was excellent. I think on our 2nd stay we had the room you stayed in. Each room's onsen is different so I was able to tell it was the same. Our 3rd and most recent visit we didn't stay at Kokuya. Too expensive now :) It wasn't too bad with 1 kid but 2 was a stretch. But we stayed in a lovely old ryokan close to the station that was very inexpensive and almost as good as Kokuya. We did visit Kokuya again for the delicious onsen eggs they have for sale outside the front entrance. The monkeys have been amazing each time we've visited but the last time they didn't get into the water. But they sat around on the edge though, so we still got some nice video and the kids loved it.
Excellent video of a wonderful place.

Hi, cold Soba noodle is basically only for Summer season. In winter, we eat hot one with various toppings. There are differences in taste of Soba noodles by each Soba noodle houses. These difference is known by the taste of cold Soba, not hot one. This difference is slight and only understood by Soba-connoisseur.
The Japanese Sake is the same. Cold Sake is basically tasted only in Summer. In other seasons warmed Sake is preferred, though the latest Japanese young people have cold Sake in all seasons because of its easy drink.

Just went to Nagano Japan in January for business. My HQ is there. It actually wasn’t that cold. With the yen being so bad, anyone from US can spend so much and everything is so cheap. Even buying high end clothes or anything will be cheaper
