I'm 50 years old and today is the very first day that I heard her music, her beautiful music. What an incredible songwriter and singer, the word 'talented' doesn't begin to describe her.
I find that her saddest songs, dealing with the tragedies in her life, are still brimming with an optimism that celebrates, at once, our possibilities and the sorrow that acknowledges Joy as the release.
My husband died 31/12/2001 aged 42. Beth your songs so resonate with me, I had the Color of roses playing at his funeral. Beautiful song writer and singer 💚❤️
Thank you, Beth for such a tender and raw conveyance of love, loss, and eternal remembrance and gratitude. Sadly, I will be singing this song soon for my sister, Anney, (likely with a flood of tears) in a day of celebration for her beautiful life. God gives us so many reminders of rebirth. Renewal is all around us and I thank you for helping me focus on the "spring inside of the trees".
What a travesty it is that true musical geniuses like this get so few hits on youtube and acknowledgement of the great work that they do while whatever flavour of the month rakes in hundreds of thousands of views. Please know that I have a tear in my eye whenever I hear your music and wish that I had a grain of your talent, soul and voice.
I’m sure that I am not alone in thinking that Every December Sky is the most beautiful, poignant song on the internet. Last night I was lucky enough to meet Beth Nielsen Chapman, in Pocklington near York, so I was able to thank her in person for Every December Sky. I will love this song even more from now on. ❤
So few musicians can take the form to this emotional and technical level. That so many lesser musicians achieve greater acclaim is an appalling travesty.
