Thank you so much for posting this! We've been inundated with so many quarantine messages lately that it was almost worth welcoming the spam emails back. I hadn't realized the Microsoft had removed some of the duration options, but hopefully adjusting our policy to daily will fix this issue.
Thanks for this. I have a question about admin notification. Once the user requests a release, how do I enable a notification for the admins to review? I see you can go in manually to check the quarantine and I would rather an notification for our admins to go in only when a release is requested? Hope you can help thanks
After creating a policy to release, do we add it to Anti-spam inbound policy or take other actions? For example, assigning the policy to High Confidence Phishing message action.
So problem with this is that MS apparently only lets users release certain emails. Anything labeled as High confidence phishing for example users cant release. This has become an issue since I am a 3rd part MSP so I dont get notified when people request releases. Is there any way to have an alert sent out to myself or a group when someone requests a release?
Can you specify certain users to have one quarantine policy while other users have another level of quarantine policy. Cannot see how you can add policies to see specific users?
Would not let users release emails themselves, seems like a huge security risk. Especially those classified as "high confidence phish" putting a lot of trust into people lol.
It is a risk but the alternative is dealing with hundreds of requests per day especially as a MSP. Companies should be teaching their employees how to spot scams and phishing emails anyways as you will never stop 100% of those emails anyways
Thanks, very helpful and straight to the point - much easier to follow than the long-winded Microsoft documentation. Subscribed! :)

after the quarantine email is released by the admin, is there a option to notify the user that the email was released and available in the mailbox
