Not currently a single mom, but I was for 5 years with my older daughter. Even now I can understand how you feel because my husband isn’t the most helpful and I do 100% of the child-raising. I am also a SAHM and the depression and lack of motivation is REAL. Everybody thinks it’s some glamorous life, but they have no idea about the reality of it. Thank you a MILLION times for sharing this side of your life. It’s very helpful and makes you even more relatable. ALL the love for you and Sydney! 💕

I feel you on the parenting alone thing. It's kind of sad that I just realized that my first thought when I want to go do something childless is "I don't want to burden grandma or great grandma" instead of asking my boyfriend to stay home with our daughter for an afternoon 🙄

I do try fun things for my daughter but have trouble doing anything for myself. So thank you for this video and sharing so much ❤️

I feel this on so many levels. It's a blessing that I'm able to stay home with my kids, but at times I feel like I've lost my sense of self in being just a mom all day. SAHM burnout is so real! I'm trying to find the balance in making more time to do things that make me feel fulfilled. It's a struggle! Thank you for sharing, as so many of us can relate to what you are going through. ❤

This was an excellent episode of Tres Chic Mama. You project a great deal of honesty when talking with your audience. I am not a young mom. My kids are your age. I started watching your blog because I was very impressed with Sydney’s verbal skills and your interaction with her. Interestingly enough you talk about books you you find helpful, - have you ever considered writing a Mommy and Me book about the interactions you have with Sydney that encourage her development? You have wonderful ideas for play and learn skills. Your interaction with Sydney when doing playtime, learning activities, etc. also, you have a routine. You have given Sydney the security of a life that has structure. Her bedtime routine,is lovely. She feels secure in her environment which is a very, important aspect of growing and thriving go for a,child. I admire you a great deal. I enjoy watching your vlog and get a kick out of The things that Sydney says. Your honesty today may have touched the heart of someone who needed to hear what you were honest, brave and generous enough to,share, with other young mothers.

Thanks for this. I've been struggling with alot of mom guilt as ii have bipolar so most days I don't want to wake up. I used to be so much motivated and hands on, but now I'm just so tired, not interested in anything, I love my child but I truly feel I've lost myself. I don't know what or who I am. I'm trying to change my life to feel happier and motivated and not wanting to sleep all the time. Thanks for your video. I'm in tears as I now feel like I can relate. Peace xxx

You are so inspiring and informative. With my 6 month old I have to constantly be hands on. My mom helps out a few hours a week but my husband is occupied with other things. Feeling of being overwhelmed by my to do list and being burned out when my baby goes to bed is not a joke. Plus as a mom I want to stay happy for my daughter so I really appreciate you being honest about it. Motherhood is rewarding beyond words but it's a hard 24/7 job and moms do not take care of themselves enough. I've actually watched your video twice because I wanted to memorize your tips and routines lol. You should also do another routine video. Your true routine with good and bad. Continue to be a kickass mom!!! You're great and a true inspiration to all new moms!!

I am an stay at home single mom too and while I am learning LOA, reading, motivating and mostly healing myself, I have days when I feel SO alone that it hurts and this helps so much.. Knowing that someone has been trough the same and is still going, creating... Tho the hardest part is not being able to get out from the house much by myself and not having much friends as I have moved countries since breakup. I am pretty much totally restarting my life now as well amd learning new things to build up my business feom scratch and ohhh this is like fresh breeze. Thank you thank you thank you.

You yourself are motivational, you inspire me everyday to get up, wash my face, get dressed, do the dishes, cook an actual breakfast and dinner etc. Still working on the afternoon slump and actually playing with my daughter but I haven't been feeling as low since starting this morning "routine" You are a badass single mom. Just like many other comments, I'm not single but the parenting aspect is definitely done alone. You are doing great as the sole breadwinner and parent 👍

Good for you, giving others a spur onward to seek the help they need. And you acknowledged that we all have various levels of depression and anxiety now and then, but we need strategies to due whatever preventive work is possible and good tactics for getting on with our lives once we're mired in it again. Can Sydney hear you less well from your bedroom than from the living room downstairs? Isn't the living room farther from her bedroom? The PBS travel guru, Rick Steves, has talked for years during his tours of Europe about how Americans, who live in a land of plenty and peace, live out of a mindset of scarcity and so are stressed and ungrateful and unhappy a great deal of the time. While Europeans, who have lived through the hells of multiple devastating wars and plagues over and over again, live out of a mindset of abundance, thus compared with us live a life of joy and relative calm and gratitude. Our failure to be or inability to be truly grateful robs us of joy. And part of conquering depression is to know what your triggers are. I tend to have anxiety-driven depression, so I have to minimize opportunities for anxiety increase. Anxiety can trick you, too, because with your brain racing all the time, you sort of don't perceive how little you are accomplishing. The anxiety is eating up all your mental energy and leaving the rest of you utterly fatigued. It may not be too difficult to convince people if they let their cleaning slide that a truly dirty house may be bad for their health. But, for a depressed person it can be so difficult to explain how clutter is adding to the chaos in their head that is causing the depression. Plus the clutter moving in on them tends to make them feel safer from the outside dangers - more buffered. You made a huge point about chipping away at chores. In all things, we must know how to break down what may feel like a huge undertaking into its component parts and start tackling each of them until they are done. We can be quietly happy, content. We do not have to be giddy, antic all the time. But it is so destructive to not be able to ward off or control depression so we can continue to function and get to the point of rejoicing in life. Also your pointing out to people that therapy may be for them even if they think it isn't. I have known people who thought that group therapy or support groups were not the solution for them when they were grieving or whatever and then, lo and behold, they turned out to be.

Hi there! I did not hear you mention exercise being the key to releasing endorphins (so boring, exercise, right), yet so simple.
I worked for many gyms and YMCA and can be a savior for moms or dads with kids. The children get great playtime and socialization with other children. Our rooms were always well staffed and clean. Fees are nominal. And mom gets to socialize/work out in a healthy atmosphere. A yoga class, stretch class, or just a treadmill and biking. It's a no brainer. You need this, you both do...especially with winter coming up and all those Trader Joe snacks and meals. It will make you feel inspired, won't feel like a chore, and eventually a blessing. They have freebies too to try out. I really liked our YMCA. Schedule it in twice a week..Sydney will love it, and you will too. Think of other mom friendships you can make. It will help with your anxiety ten fold. Also many have a heated indoor swimming pool. And sauna. Think of the wintertime blues being lifted...🏊🏼

Im not a single mom but Im SAHM. My husband works every weekday 8-5. Sometimes he work more hours. So basically I have to do all chores and always have this guilt for leaving my daughter play alone in a room. Like I feel I dont have time to play with her but if I play with her, I kept thinking about all the undone chores and it stressed me out everytime. Sometimes I feel like I need to start my youtube channel like other SAHM do but Im an asian who does not speak english fluently, so I find it'll hard to grow my channel and will hard to make money with youtube.
Im not sure if what Im saying here has anything to do with your video today😅but whatever😂
