I bought this game a year ago even though I still haven't had time to play it. I did it out of respect for the devs.

Except it crashes every 15 minutes and how are you supposed to play a run where you lose everything when you die when the glitches will literally kill you
@@drewopal9283 your hardware is needing driver updates. My 11 year old pc does same now but used to be fine. I played since launch and can't wait to fire it up again on a new rig :)

@@drewopal9283 i couldn't agree more. That's what happened to me, and it wanted me to restart the phases i had completed. I just deleted the expidition save, and thinking about deleting the game entirely. I fail to understand how people blindly simp for games a movies that are this bad and broken.
@@drewopal9283 Never crashed, Not even once, Even when it lagged while loading new planet after months of not playing it, everything is and was okay, Your hardware is probably outdated.. Also if there was crashes after every 15 minutes for everyone then no one would play it until they fix it lmfao.
The leviathan sound is outstanding!!! Permadeath expedition is going to be super fun.

This game went from being an unfinished and boring joke to a downright legendary experience... Hello Games deserves a standing ovation for pulling off the most impressive U-turn for a failed game in history.

No Man's Sky is the only game I will forever respect until circumstances change. I'm proud of this studio.
If only other gaming companies were like Hello Games...either way, No Man's Sky will be a legendary game in the vast sea of games created between 2000 and beyond. It will be in the top spot because of not only the scale and relative freedom, but the back story of it's creation and reception and revival. Hello Games truly became a rocket ship to take us far beyond what we thought was possible. Much fuel was burnt in the process, but the pilots kept us safe and reassured us time and time again that they will take us on an epic journey.

Well, finally a reason to play permadeath
This looked like Expedition stuff only, not sure how much of this will carry over to Permadeath. Anybody that wants a challenge in Perma I suggest having just a few to no upgrades on shield and jetpack and go land on a planet with aggresive sentinels, HG got stupid with them on the last couple updates.

@@sir_genericname4781 It's a weird hybrid. The game is on survival but if you die, your progress is reset but the save isn't wiped, it just continues.
What's interesting is that dying re reviving is part of this expedition's story.
@@Good_Horsey when i first started this game probably a few months after it came out. i found a very hot planet and i had 2 of the thermal shielding and i still died in literally seconds. that put me off from every trying perma mode. i've played the game much more sense then and i still am not sure why that planet burnt me to a crisp when the other hot planets just drain my thermal shielding.

I speculate if they do that it may be a cross over with Starcraft. Kerrigan hive ship.

When I first got the game I tought it could be an interesting experience cause the whole surviving in space thing looked kinda cool, Best choice I could have made I had no idea that this kind of devs existed, always releasing new content for free. You guys just keep surprising me. Continue the great work!

I love that they redeemed this game and more, and I think now is time to let it rest. I recently replayed the game again and I think its starting to show age. Putting all this effort into a sequel or even or new space game would be much more worthwhile I think. No Man's Sky has been a trip.
Personally, I think it still has so much more untapped potential
@@ARC--ij5oz same. this could be the start of a new type of RPG, maybe even a new genre, where the game never stops it just keeps updating a growing. sure the engine would need to be updated at somepoint, but just hide it in an update after a few years of development. the only issue with this "new" genre is it doesn't generate enough income, if its infinitely supported xD, they will have to find a way to make in game purchases a fun and viable thing.

Those "mutation of organism and starcraft" reminds me of Lanfeust comics (French one, I'm not aware if it had been translated and exported), where some evolving creatures were known to be able to be used as ships if you added some starcraft pieces to them, and where it was quite rare to be able to see a specimen who survive to his last evolution : becoming larger than ever behemoth of flesh and metal

There is an actual update, as on Sean's twitter, he said that they don't plan to release an expedition in place of a planned update, but instead along with a planned update.

To be fair, Outlaws only came out a month ago and 4.0 is due to be the next update, so my guess is we'll see something more in the next few months!

This game went from an I’ll omen of what could be the future of the games industry, an unfinished shallow broken lie that the developers could have easily said, “suckers” and ran away.
It went from that to a noble crusade to make something truly unique out of a failure. The game has become a whole bother game in some ways entirely. In others, the game actually has either made food on the promises of Shaun Murray or has added stuff never seen before that Shaun never mentioned.
The game had had like 15 free expansions or something stupid like that. The devs have earned a very trepidatious sense of good will from me. Is say trepidatious because this could be an example of how game devs can lie about there game, and not fix or care about it.
To a degree this was like Fallout 76. I hear the game is better but it never had quite the redemption arc of no man’s sky.
I may not play it religiously or really hardly at all, but I can tip my hat to what they have done here and to what wild and wonderful dreams the team has in store in the future.
Maybe they can add the ability to get a type of collectible that you can use to custom make one ship of your own choosing. What it looks like and the weapons on it.
It’s a thought but either way, this game has made the greatest comeback in video games ever.
