FunFact: in one of the episodes on Helluva Boss where I.M.P. were discovered by the secrets agents. When Stolas possesed the female agent and left from her mouth, if you listen closely, you could hear the music of the song in the backround. You could rewatch the episode to chek if you want.
Its his theme song you can also hear it in S1 EP 1 when Stolas calls Blitz
@@LilAngel_OfChaos Yep! They play this theme whenever Stolas is shown, so the audience comes to associate the music with him. I find it so cool that they were able to put lyrics on his theme to turn it into an actual song.
Also I also remember hearing this when he is on the phone with Blitzø while in the bath, the heartbreaking “break up” scene in ep7, and when young Stolas and Blitzø lie down under the chandelier in The Circus episode
I thought I also heard it in one of the earlier episodes ( I think episode 5 as well)
It’s in a few episodes actually I heard it immediately after the most recent episode
Actually, if you listen closely, this song comes up almost every time you see Stolas on screen. It's even there when he first appears in the Murder family episode IIRC.

@@Princessitaandreita I shall double down on my own statement by putting a question into the room: Do you think they only did one take of the song? If you actually look into the mechanics of singing you'd see that crying does more to your voice than just a crack. Way more.
I recommend watching a video titled something along the lines "Why Les Miserables singing was worse than you think" or something like that.

I've done film production before and sometimes we had to use certain takes during post production even though it wasn't the best, obviously it was a small film but still
I love how Caleb doesnt pretend to be the character, he IS the character!
I really like this one. The original made it seem like Stolas was realising that the relationship he thought he had with Blitz wasn't real. On the other hand, here it makes it seem like he is explaining his feelings to Blitz.
These covers are always jampacked with expressions and little details, that's why they're so awesome!

I love how he did this one. The first part is just like how it was one the show, how sad Stolas was. Then the reprise of the second half of the song is kind of like Stolas is angry, like after the fight with Stella.

When i watched the new Helluva Boss episode and heard this song, my first though was "I hope Caleb Hyles does a cover of this one" and here it is and I could not be happier! Wonderfully done!
AMAZINGGGG! i feel like the start of the song is stolas mourning over the fact that blitzø won’t notice his love for him, and the key change is a time jump where stolas is looking back on this and mocking himself for being so foolish. either that or him turning away from blitzø

This song gives me Jack's Lament vibes. Sad and wanting more out of life. I wished Stolas had more lyrics because he's got a really good singing voice.
It is a really disney song, somewhat between jack's lament and a disney princess.
Also reminds me of Speechless from Aladdin (2019).
There's a lot about Stolas that is reminiscent of Jack Skellington tbh. Same feeling of being stuck in an unforgiving, unfulfilling cycle that leaves them totally isolated and alone. Same discovery of something antithetical to their social culture that suddenly fills their lives with color. Same UNHEALTHY OBSESSION and IMPULSIVE CHOICES in response to that thing. Same "that obsession is destroying their life" realization. Stolas' song was half Jack's Lament and the first half of "What Have I Done"--- the half where Jack bemoans his consequences and everything that has been lost in the name of his obsession. What Stolas *needs* is the second half of "What Have I Done"-- the part where Jack picks himself up and says fuck it I tried now it's time to clean up the hellacious mess I made".

And that's something that will have to be worked out. Stolas... I am not sure whether Stolas loves Blitz or loves the idea of being in love. Since he's never gotten to have that experience before. Hence why Blitz is Christmas, in this metaphor. In order for it to become something real, Stolas is going to have to prove he doesn't just like the novelty, along with the dick. And Blitz....
Sally has proven herself to be Jack's ride or die. I am not sure we've seen that from Blitz.

When I saw the extended time, I thought maybe there was an extended version (like for "You Will Be Okay.") However, this is just as good. I loved your facial and arm expressions. It makes you seem just like Bryce. I actually read that Bryce CRIED upon recording the song and they did it all in one take.

That's some distortion he's doing on purpose. You hear it a lot in punk and rock music but it was really tasteful here because it was just that moment and lyric
