The TOS is all the exact same across most of the apps we use. That's not by accident. Tik tok only stands out because it is a Chinese owned company but it’s a small part of the bigger picture. Tencent is behind almost every app you use, including tik tok. They are large investors/part owners in pretty much every social media app/website. Tencent is also a Chinese owned company and under chinas new laws, they must share all there information with the government. This was all part of a bigger plan. Tencent is owned by the Chinese government, Tencent monitors everything we do through every app. It’s much scarier if you really look into it.

One reason for collecting this much data about every person might also have something to do with analyzing consumer patterns, the people's political orientation and for tracking movement around the country. They can analyze the population's behavior in order to do better political decisions, or if they are trying to influence the population, they can analyze the data to see if their tactic works and the list goes on. I mean, the opportunities are endless if you know that much about a country and if you can influence its population using your nicely engineered social media app that gets everyone addicted.

People really underestimate how much you can do with enough data on a person. First of all, think of ALL the things you've searched. It could be medical conditions, curiosities, sexual interests, whatever. That's one thing they would snatch up. Next, there's a common use for big data, that is to combined all data on you to make a profile, like a digital version of everything you think, do, want etc. Major corporations usually use that for advertising (Let's put aside the morality of that for now). Now, all that data tracking everything about you, knowing how to make you tick, how to play into your fears, what you want to hear, what you don't...
ALL of that can be used to create algorithms. Those algorithms will then be used to MANIPULATE you in every way in everything you do. Most people have NO clue just how much manipulation they are exposed to on a daily basis. And to think of that being in the hands of an authoritarian regime, whose stated goals are to control everything and everyone. To overwhelm the democratic countries and to extend their ideas and authority into the world. THAT IS FUCKING FRIGHTENING.

It's his character shtick that's he's very good at. Hes gotta play it. He repeats in different format or asks questions for confirmation to make sure the information is heard. Joe has a huge platform. He knows how to use it without getting canceled or sued. Most comedians are good at covert delivery of important information shrouded in jokes and naivete or self deprecation. George Carlin is The primary example.

Do you have any idea how many "front" corporations US agencies have in other countries, including China??? DARPA/CIA created the internet. They created all of the social media platforms including Google, Instagram, Alphabet, etc., Amazon & more to surveil and manipulate the public. Of course they want ALL of our data in order to target citizens who resist the tyranny of the federal puppets put in charge by the corporate/banking elites. China, nor Russia is an enemy. In fact, they collaborate with the US to profit the elites and politicians along with the countless private corporations and banks profiting from weaponizing viruses/pathogens, drugs, vaccines, the highly toxic 5G proliferation, as well as those who are part of the military industrial complex.
ALL media is controlled by agencies. While this site does provide accurate information, the bigger picture is never addressed; thus, this is controlled opposition like Project Veritas and others. Meanwhile, as they collect data, they continue whitewashing or deleting sites with evidence of crimes against humanity involving US govt while funding fake "documentaries", websites, and mainstream media to push their lies and propaganda. Considering the trail of bodies (researchers, doctors, witnesses, victims, reporters/journalists, mil personnel, whistleblowers, etc.), it is also much safer for Roman to stick to the narrative.

fun fact: facebook knows almost all of your browsing history and activity on websites... even without an account or having ever having visited facebook. how? you know that "like on fb" or "share on fb" button on websites? those buttons actually run a script that reports back to fb info about your activity. and it's been figured out how to generate a digital "fingerprint" of your device just by visiting a website, so even if you never visited facebook, moved to a new country, cleared your all your browsing data... they can still theoretically match you to a private, auto-generated profile of you. unless multiple people use your device, not sure how that'd work but i'm sure they have something figured out for that.

1:35 it doesn't really mean they can suck data off your other computers but it does give them the right to associate the information on the devices that you log in with to other devices that you may not have used for TikTok if they for whatever reason have collected that data through a third party source or through logging I previously. Essentially they can compare your behaviors on your different devices. So essentially any device that you used to log into tick tock they have full access to everything about that device and all of your personal files. And they also have the right to compare any of that information to any other devices that you've used to log into Tic Tac in the past or information on other devices they may have acquired through outside sources.

As a seasoned software engineer: Tik Tok is one of the absolute BEST pieces of software ever invented. It's resilient, it never goes down, there are never any issues with the app, flawless business model & it's incredibly addicting. You just keep scrolling and scrolling and scrolling until you find the next video that can give you that dopamine rush you're looking for. Talking from experience - this is no different than sniffing coke. Once you bag is done, you call the dealer to get another bag in order to feel that rush of dopamine that you felt when you sniffed for the first time that day. Yes, I sniff coke occasionally (not proud of it) and I'm telling you this no different from using the app.
Also, just to make things clear: Tik Tok isn't the only app that steals all of your info. 99% of iOS and Android apps do the exact same thing but they're more discreet about it. The difference between those apps and Tik Tok is that Tik Tok is very addicting while the other app aren't at all which why you never hear about the other apps.
IMO, Tik Tok is a very, VERY dangerous drug and it should be labeled as such. Trump did the right thing when he said he wanted to get rid of it. It's seriously damaging the development of children at a pace and at a caliber mankind has never witnessed before while the company cashes in their billions of dollars.

5:55 before I go any further. As a retired electronic technician I can co-sign what he just said. Not just their phones but Bluetooth dongles and services as well. 1 Bluetooth service (headsets) was introduced in the US market widely in late 2003 early 2004. However it's been available since 98/99 but consumers couldn't buy it. BUT what they didn't know was the other services such as audio gateway, object push, file transfer, modem, monitor, and keyboard services all where available and active without one's knowledge. This was Bluetooth VS 1.0. I trained the very 1st Data Support Team for Cingular Wireless aka AT&T. Huawei phones had so much going on in the background it was just crazy and consumers never knew. The range of frequency was/is actually very impressive, tapping into Not only GSM but CDMA and even TDMA and Analog. Cingular Wireless and Nokia offered a phone that would do both TDMA and GSM, model 6340 (if I remember correctly) and was very proud of it. I just laughed. What is being sold NEW in stores today is so far outdated it's ridiculous.

Yep I know you`re not lying because most people don`t know the technology that is sold in Apple iphones today as the next best thing were in fact invented in the late 80`s. It wasn`t that popular back in the 0`s because BOll Gates was so big he put Steve Jobs pretty much out of business, but Microsoft got sued by the government Antirust department for being too big in the 90`s, he had to ask Steve Jobs to come back into business so Microsoft would be under the 30% threshold requirement.

Did you ever use Bluetooth 1.0? It was terrible and barely worked. All those things you listed are called Bluetooth profiles (see wikipedia), and just because the phone/device advertises it doesn't mean it can do much with it (and software was so primitive back then it didn't work). A flip phone was just becoming the "cool" thing in 2003...
HSP, HFP, DUN, OPP, FTP were the more common Bluetooth profiles (I managed to get DUN working a couple times to tether to a laptop in 2003). The most advanced thing phones had in 2003 was support to play MP3s and no one cared if you stole that because it was already stolen from Napster/Kazaa/Limewire.

I've been an enterprise software developer for almost 10 years. TikTok's terms are not uncommon. Google, Facebook, Apple, and other popular apps collect this this data as well. The part that stuck out to me is the conspiracy that the app was created to collect your data. I'm certain upon it's inception the app did not collect this type of data, but as it gained popularity the company saw an opportunity to begin collecting and monetizing user data as an additional revenue stream. Most popular apps do the same thing because it is profitable. To reiterate, if the app/service is "free" then profits are being generated from something whether you are aware of it or not.

Now, I'm not gonna pretend as if our leaders are tech savvy or anything, far from it. It happened because of border conflicts from chinese troops.

Yes, to an extent everybody should be responsible and educate themselves, but on some level you must have institutions and regulations in place to protect non-experts / regular people from practices that they have no control over, or that they would have to read dozens of pages of terms of use for each app, game or product they use to figure out what is going on, which isn't a realistic expectation imo. @@justingreen6561 I get what you guys are saying, and true enough. People (me included, in some instances) are ignoring issues for the sake of convenience. I'm not sure about the celebrating part, but we are living with the knowledge of some things that should actually make us reconsider. But in the case of say Whatsapp, I have a friend I can only reach through that platform.
Twitter for another example, as godforsaken a place as it is, is actually useful to get updates from certain things/people that you are interested in. I don't have a Twitter account myself, but basically every online personality has one, because it is just that useful.
It sucks that a lot of these places have monopolized functions in the internet that almost everybody (arguably) "has" to access in order to live normally today, and are abusing that privileged position in order to exploit and abuse their users. If you were principled enough to stay away from every kind of social media, you would end up isolated. But I guess I'm the one digressing now.
I suppose it's that difficult issue of "if everybody just said no, these companies would have to adjust and respect the customer's wishes". But what ends up happening is 5% of people are principled and decide to not use it, and the companies don't feel it because everybody else doesn't follow. And that's down to all kinds of reasons, laziness, lack of principles, friends and contacts they don't want to leave behind, perhaps content creators they want to stay in touch with, perhaps even a sunk cost fallacy in case they are invested in their presence there.
It's unimaginably hard to get millions or billions of people on the same page, in order to force a company to change. On a side-note, the streamer Asmongold has talked on this problem, and in his opinion that's why it needs to be top-down change, instead of bottom-up, and the state or whatever authority needs to initiate that change. I'm not sure what would be right, but for everyhing to stay as it is wouldn't be right either.
