This was so informative. Is there a version of Flamenco lessons for decrepit old people like me? I took lessons for a couple of years in my early 30s and then fell away. Now 20 years later menopause has hit my muscles and joints hard and I don't think my body can take what younger dancers do. That might include the footwork.
@@RinaOrellanaFlamenco Thanks I definitely will. However I was just wondering if there's a tradtional way that, say, older dancers continue dancing while reducing the energy and impact on joints. I've seen videos of very old former dancers in the street just using the upper body and sort of just shuffling with their feet. Or of source they can just do the Palmas. It would be interesting to know of there is discussion in the community of flamenco for seniors or less able bodied.
I'm 74 and take intermediate level classes in Spain. Flamenco keeps me capable of doing flamenco! Take good supplements, eat well, adjust what you do and keep going!
@@rosellasusanbyers31 wow good for you! Appreciate the response. Unfortunately my foot won't bend at the toes for various reasons. There are some scenes in old movies where they seem to be doing upper body flamenco. I guess that's what's left for me, along with shuffling. Upper body would be great for people in wheel chairs too.

Just start the Intro to Flamenco series that I have - and maybe don't do the footwork. ;)
