I am 48 and have had tinnitus for the last year and never knew this may be the reason. Thank you so much for mentioning this! X
You're so welcome!
Have you had the COVID Vax? That can cause it.
It's my mindset that is the worst for me. I'm constantly in a cycle of wanting to go back to my past, the regrets I have, not knowing what is there for the future. I think I'm done with life at 53 years but still have to keep going.
Onto your Better Second Half ❤️❤️
Hi, I think most of us would love to go back to the past, we all have regrets and think, if only I had done things differently, however no one can change their past. I try and put unpleasant things to the back of my mind and enjoy today, the moment. The ups and downs of life is a passage of time, I know that if I am feeling a bit down, it will pass and there will be unexpected happy times ahead for us to enjoy. 💙
@@TheBlueOwl21 it's hard as I don't love my husband, spent most of the time being there for the kids. Also have been in touch with my ex and I know he isn't happy. For context it was me that was the bad girlfriend and he was amazing.
@@annyaboyd3141 I was in the exact same position as you several years ago, it took me a awful long time to pluck up the courage to leave my wife, my mortgage was paid and I had just inherited my parents house and was financially secure, my divorce went to court and my wife was awarded the lions share. Now years later, I live in a caravan but most importantly have never been happier !
Totally had the same thoughts. Started hrt because of movement issues and anxiety. Felt better in 2 weeks, but started feeling regrets about not taking care of myself in this way much sooner. Now I’m 55, started singing lessons last year and personal training. And am thinking about WHO I want to be in the rest of my life. The stable hormone levels are just bliss. I wish I had those in my 20’s. My self esteem is so much higher than it ever was. Happy and eager for what’s to come.
Thank you! ❤
For all your hard work in helping us menopausal women... im sure I say it for all the women out there struggling .... ❤
❤
Brilliant discussion. Memory loss particularly word recall - Vertigo & tinnitus never associated with menopause until listening to this podcast. How many of us walk around feeling with these symptoms that we're going insane. Lack of information - thank God for these women. My own mother began menopause in her 30's. Insomnia , massive mood swings, walking the streets in morning hours as she couldn't sleep. Diagnosis by the family Dr was she was having a nervous breakdown. Cure - electric shocks to her brain. How I would like even now at this late stage in my life to face these sadists with what they did to destroy her & our family 😢
❤
Oh my, so sorry my Mother had the same issues in and out of hospital for 13 years!!!! And was treated with shock treatments and heavy phsyciatric medication. She was never well after and passed at 62 :*(
@@jennieoh8543 Yes so heartbreaking. Early 60's too young to loose your mum. My mum was 50 - got sick & just didn't have the will to fight for life.

Tinnitus and brain fog can also be caused by COVID Vax.
Thankyou for a different point of view. I’m 74 and at 50 my periods stopped suddenly..I had anxiety attacks frequently and fits of rage and accusations . My doctor gave me a course of HRT but after a little while I started to bleed again so I was taken off it straight away…
Thanks for sharing ❤️
Liz Earle, you have helped me so much with all your wonderful advice and podcasts and just helping me to realise what’s really going on, and that I’m not “going mad” That’s so important for all women. Thank you and keep up your amazing work ❤
❤
Liz, I love you! These talks are so bloody helpful and informative. I am struggling with post menopausal issues-which I won't go into here, but everything you say about the Patriarchal is born out by my own experience. Your honesty, clarity, and uncompromising stance bring me to tears of recognition, that I am not alone! Thank you! Keep on, keeping on! love sue xxx

I am 53, post-menopausal for 4 years. Had to stop HRT last year due to bleeding. Feel so guilty and worried about my oestrogen levels. So much pressure now to be on HRT.
Hi there! I've found this article on Balance app, which may be helpful to you balance-menopause.com/uploads/2021/09/Vaginal-bleeding-during-perimenopause-and-menopause.pdf Thanks, Rachel (social media manager) ❤️
@@lizearlewellbeing Thank you. I had a thickened endometrium and possible polyps. Under the 2 week window I had a hysteroscopy under GA and thankfully nothing horrible found. The surgeon suggested that HRT was causing this. I never had particularly severe symptoms, so with guidance of my menopause specialist I decided to try without HRT. The bleeding stopped within 2 weeks. I am having some symptoms, and may see a private specialist this year to have hormone levels checked (never had blood tests with NHS). I use oestrogen cream regularly because of Lichen Sclerosus and had 2 UTIs.
Good luck with everything, I hope your hrt works out well for you❤
Thank you so much!
I was on HRT patches but then I had a TIA and that was that. Now I have just been cast adrift & left to get on with it 😢
Sorry to hear this - do speak to your doctor again for advice ❤️
I have tinnitus but I connected it to the Menopause. I was also diagnosed with Labyrnthitis when I worked for the police so was unable to go out on the beat which resulted in me being station bound for 9 months......since being on the Everol patches a few years ago all dizziness has gone. I have a feeling I was misdiagnosed.....fancy that 🤔
Thanks for sharing ❤️
Read my post above about tinnitus to help with your symotoms
I went to the gp and asked if there was some kind of blood test to see where along in my menopause journey I was, and was there anything I could be doing
to help myself I wanted to go through it well as I could, make adjustments ,I was fobbed off told they didn't offer tests. He offered me no guidance and the conversation was closed off To this day I don't honesty know if im on the other side or if I'm still going through it. So yes I'm in the dark ages
Sorry to hear this and thank you for sharing. We also have lots of advice on our channel and website that may be helpful to you. And it may be helpful to speak to another doctor for advice, if that's possible ❤️ Thanks, Rachel (social media manager)
As usual brilliant information from Liz. Although I've lived 20+ years in France, seen 4 gynecologists,2 doctors and still being refused HRT as I'm "only" 49. Oestrogen is not available here to buy in pharmacies over the counter, if it was I'd be buying it.
Right so what does it mean for us if we don't have or take anything for it 🤔
Thanks for sharing ❤️
Such a positive listen. When I asked about Testosterone at my GP surgery the young female doctor said it is not prescribed or linked to the menopause!! When I mentioned your research she raised her eyes 🙄 I wonder if she’ll remember our conversation when she is going through this time of change?? Also, can I ask which dating website you used (I’d love to see my sister with someone to share her second better half). Looking forward to reading the book 🙌🏻
Glad you enjoyed the video - could you perhaps try another doctor? ❤️
May I ask Liz please , you mentioned tinnitus which started a year before I began taking HRT thanks to listening to your brilliant advice , you talked about testosterone, did that or the hrt help you ? With the tinnitus as it’s driving me crazy 😢x
Ears have been really itchy, sore in my late 40s
Skin changes are common in midlife and menopause - we have lots of advice on our website for dry and sensitive skin. Falling hormones in perimenopause and menopause can result in dry and itchy ears - it may be worth having a conversation with your doctor on this too ❤️
I suffer from debilitating symptoms itchy crawley skin, UTI, sleep anxiety and morning anxiety, numbness and pins and needles, eye problems tearing eyes, now I've got ostapinia I've been taking hrt gel I was in the patch before and wasn't absorbing it, so they put me on the gel, I also take utragestran vaginally as I'm progesterone intolerance, I'm taking this until I get my intended mireena coil taken out , ivd been waiting 9 mths.❤❤
I am discovering that I am progesterone intolerance. I was taking utrogestan for the 14 days, but reduced it to only 1 week as I felt so bad on it. I thought I might get the Mireena coil so that progesterone is delivered only locally - where it is needed. Are you getting your coil removed due to the intolerance? I won't get one fitted if it is going to make me any worse. I am peri-menopausal and still bleed regularly (even worse with the utrogestan). I feel for you.xx
Sorry that your suffering also with progesterone intolerance.
I'm awaiting to get mine replaced ,as its misplaced and I'm using utragestran vaginally ,as I can't take it orally due to the intolerance.
Ask your health provider if you can switch to the mireena or even taking the utragestran vaginally, which you won't get any side effects this way.
Good luck 😅
@@janemasini356 yes, I think I will. Hope you get you new coil in soon. Thanks again.
Thank you for sharing - sorry to hear you're having a tough time but do speak to your doctor and we have lots of advice on our website too ❤️
I have suffered with horrible Vulva pain, UTI
Very confusing symptoms. HRT is being adjusted. Just added a local estrogen cream as well as an internal pessary. This was a very unpleasant symptom at 54
Sorry to hear you've been struggling! But glad to hear that you've been provided treatment ❤️
Could this be oxlates maybe? please do google 'oxalates vulvodynia'.
I have tinnitus and tried different treatments, the only thing that worked was listening to binural beats and theta waves on you tube.I had ringing in my ears daily and now only get it occasionally i dont believe there is a cure, but this is by far the best treatment that works but not 100% effective. Its important to listen daily for a while and if your at home if you get the ringing in your ears then listen the binaural and theta waves .
Thank you for sharing - we'll take a look into this!
I have testosterone added to my HRT, I find it difficult to measure the pea sized amount of gel? Any tips
Our wonderful community might be able to share some with you!
I feel really miserable at 53 and not even started the menopause yet😢
So sorry to hear this. We'd advise speaking to your doctor and tracking any symptoms that you may be feeling ❤️ Thanks, Rachel (social media manager)
Went a hole year without a period and had a massive bleed to find out i had fibroids that grew to 12cm 😢
So sorry to hear this - wishing you a speedy recovery ❤️
My fear about considering HRT is the school of thought - perhaps false, I don’t know - that it may increase your risk of developing breast cancer? I have no breast cancer in my family but am still worried about considering hrt
Truth be told, my symptoms are relatively few / chief among them low mood and fatigue but that’s it - barely any hot flashes or other symptoms / I do not smoke and have not had alcohol since my early 30s / I also practice yoga and eat mainly vegetarian but my one weakness are sweets
I thought of seeking out my GP re HRT to at least check out what my levels are, but then the fear re possible increased cancer risk stops me
Do you have any thoughts?
Thank you for your comment - you may find Liz's video here on this subject helpful ruclips.net/video/7ISBPIPWjhc/видео.htmlsi=dGDGIW5ni_ELcFDl ❤️
Can we only get testosterone from the GP please
Yes ❤️
Oh my poor ears are so dry and itchy now. It’s driving me mad
This can be common! Falling oestrogen levels causes dryness ❤️
But hrt has long term health problems
Hi! We have lots of information on HRT on our website, including podcasts, interviews and articles on the latest reseach on HRT lizearlewellbeing.com/?s=hrt Thanks, Rachel (social media manager) ❤️
