That paper looked great at so many points! But the final result looked like it took hours to create! i LOVE it! There are so many things I use for texture. Fruit mesh, tulle, caps orlids, strap from an old sandal that was disintegrating, belt, bubble wrap, credit cards, cardboard, and even bottles with texture on them. I LOVE how this page looked like old canvas that was painted over and over then worn down over the years!! Thanks so much for sharing everything you do!!
That's awesome Stacy it gives people like me a chance to create without having to go crazy just because i don't have any stencils or textures thanx.....Oh by the way you can make cool flowers with the full of paint baby wipes just dry and save them there's a video for creating the flowers i just cant recall her name but just search it i made some with my own twist you know how it is! 💜
I kept having the same issue with my craft mat every time I went to clean it off! I decided to try tacking it down with a bit of my "least" favorite washi tape....just alittle on each corner! That did the trick...now it does fly all over the place when I'm trying to wipe it off!! :)
Love the backgrounds, Stacy! Thanks for the awesome texture ideas! It definitely helps to create our own tools without spending tons of money. I have a block of floral foam that i think i just might try making a stamp out of. :)
totally digging that burlap block. I've got a bunch of burlap, I'll try that with my gelli plate. Most of my texture things is stuff I"ve gotten from the Dollar Tree. Different place mats or sink grates and cool glass platters, the bottoms can be sooo cool. And a lot of the kids toys have some awesome surfaces. I also did a bunch of watercolor paper and stenciled over with embossing paste and that made some great texture "plates". And of course I am sure you already use the produce and fruit mesh bags. They are cool too. I think my utmost fav. for texture is the non skid mats you use under carpets. I have different size holes, some are meant as jar lid helpers and then some for large floor carpets give you a nice big opening. Love those textures. And of course bubble wrap, my favorite is the super duper large bubbles because they give such a cool crackle look when you smush them down. Cellulose sponge is really cool, as is the dish scrubber balls, like nylon or wire mesh, different ones. WOW, that black paper turned out amazing, before the grunge that is. For me anyway, like the final total look but loved it without the grunge colors just as well. Coarse sand paper would be great on the wooden block too. Sorry this comment is so long but I started comments at the beginning and never sent. lol
I love your ideas and the looks you got with them.....very inspiring and creative. I'm still not 100% comfortable with making messes but your's always turn out perfect so I'm going to have to fight the OCD and just do it :) Hugs...Janie
Oh my goodness but I love the burlap textures you did! I've got a few different thicknesses of it I want to do this with now. Love the black background one you did too. All just so dang cool! :)
You just come up with the most awesome things.. I love everything you did on this video and plan to try it myself EXCEPT that darn Styrofoam.. I couldn't even watch you touch it!! It gave me the heebie jeebies so bad that I fell right out of my chair.. I wish I could get over my fear of Styrofoam.. I cannot touch cotton balls either.. I know I am so durn wierd! LOL.. Thank you again for your awesomeness!!
You use a lot of baby wipes, you should get the walmart brand equate, you get 240 in a refill pack for about $5.00 I use a lot of baby wipes. Pop some in your container that you already have.
Love the whole video the colours are so wonderful, as you said it looks flipping amazing. Thank you so much for sharing this wonderful video it is so inspiring. Hugs
You could use that grip mats under the pad and that will keep it from moving around ... :) That's if you have any handy ... :) You can get it at the dollar store cheap ... :)
So you don't have to struggle with your silicone mat you can go to the dollar store and get a shelf liner cut it a small piece of it in a square to fit under it and it will not move around while you're wiping it off Thought I'd let you know seeing how I struggled with that myself and they work fabulous
Use whatever paints you have. Walmart sometimes has Apple Barrel paints for around 50-75 cents. For mixed media cards, practice, whatever, they are fine! Also, Joann's & Michael's have sets that come out to about the same. Plaid & ArtDeco have sales sometimes too! I got some 16 ounce furniture acrylic paints for about $3.50 on a clearance sale. They are more like fluid acrylics, but come in handy when you need or want that. They are great for paint pours!
I finally was able to participate in the pajama party today. Loved it. :)

What kind of glue did you use to make the burlap block?
With this being do dark, what are you going to do with this? Are you using the cheap craft $1.00 paints? TY
its not too dark... i used it as a cover for a journal and for journal pages. And yes, I use cheap paints :) Thanks for watching.

Hot glue works. You can remove it later too & replace it if it gets too mucky!
