I’m a beginner so I got the explore air 2 when it went on sale around Black Friday. I got it because I needed a new hobby, but I’ve made some $ selling ornaments! 😆

I upgraded to the Maker 3 from the Explorer Air 2. I got it as a bundle, so it was a really good deal, and I could try the smart materials right away. I also ordered the roller for it. It's an amazing machine, truly. It is so worth the price, even when it's not on sale.
I was able to engrave a photograph onto acrylic and make a little light up photo.

This is great!! I bought a Cricut Joy as an intro Cricut machine and have loved it. I'm now starting to look for an upgrade to do bigger more complex jobs and this has helped heaps!
I started with the Maker because I wanted to cut fabric. I just purchased the Joy and I like the concept of the smart vinyl. It’s great for small projects.

I legit got the Maker 3, as part of a Christmas gift from the hubby. NEVER picked up a single vinyl, never used a cricut in my life. BUT, I'm a quick study and I'm an artist so I figured I could manage. My first attempt for a project was a mess......lol. But pretty much everything since has been amazing. I also bought the Easy Press 2 and the Mug Press. Iron-ons came out amazing. Trying the mug press hopefully today. :)

I have Cricut explore air 2, maker and Hoy. I am debating to buy Maker 3 or Explore 3 to use smart vinyl rolls to cut in longer length Vs 24” mats. But thank u for an informative take on all these machines. ❤❤
I finally upgraded from my Cricut Explore Air 2 yesterday. My local Michaels had the Maker on sale for $349.99CAD (reg. 499). I debated waiting for boxing day sales for the Maker 3 to go on sale (black friday it dropped from 550CAD to 450CAD I think?) but after learning that the Maker 3 only cuts the smart materials faster (there are only 3) then the original maker, and without a mat, I went for the Maker. The no mat needed for those three are nice, but for me, not worth the huge extra cost if I'm not cutting them regularly. :)

I'm very new to cricut and to your channel, I only ever heard of these a couple of days ago! Well yesterday I decided to make a purchase on one, I bought the cricut maker 3, it comes with a bunch of vinyl (2 gloss black, 3 gloss white, 1 gold gloss) 1 transfer tape, rose gold adhesive foil,5 sheets of fairytale adhesive foil, 3 sheets every day iron on, a whole bunch of pens (15 in total ), and because I was talking to someone that worked there about cricut for some time, they threw in 3 cutting mats (told me I don't really need them, but can have them anyway) and a basic tool kit free if charge. All for £400 ( $513?).. I'll put up an unboxing video of it when it turns up

I have just got the Cricut Maker 3 from hubby and son for Christmas. I can't wait for Christmas day. I feel like a child with excitment! 😁 I believe it cost £400 (uk) but it came with two mats and tools from Hobby Craft.
I just got the champagne one too! I did however get the bundle which is on sale now on the cricut site, hopefully it arrives soon since I’m in Canada 😅

Well I didn't have a choics, but I also didn't have to pay for my Cricut explore air 2!!! You see I have just last month win the machine, the tools, the mini iron, the iron mat, all sorts of vynal, loads of transfer tape. I'm in the Uk and I entered a competition in one of my craft magazines, I forgot all about it as it was a few months ago! When it arrived I was in shock, I also had to convince my husband that I didn't buy all of it lol. I was sorting things in my new craft place when I found the magazine, so shoved it under my hubbys nose!!! I think they would have sent me an email but with all those emails that arrive saying you have won it probably got deleated!! So all I need do is learn to use it. I have a craft silhouette, I bought it 8 years ago but through illness and moving house twice I had only used it twice, I found the software difficult to learn, so I'm hoping the Cricut software is a lot easier for my old brain!!!
I always go for the newest machine with the latest technology when I buy something like this....because I tend to keep my machines for a longer time without upgrading...same for my phones. LOL. So I would spend a little extra $$ to get the Maker 3.

Thank you great video! Iwould use it for cutting fabric for sewing projects and decals. I think the best one would be Maker. I had bought one but run into trouble when I gott to install the machine and understand the software 😢 so I send it back. I wish I had less trouble to understand it. 😊

Great comparison! I have an Explore Air 2 and I love it. And guess what? You can use the foil tool kit with it too! I think if I can make room for it, I would love to save up and get a Cricut Maker 3- I am especially loving that it might be quieter (actually the noise factor is one of the main reasons why I didn't get a Silhouette machine 😆). TFS!

Does Cricut only sell smart materials? Also I heard that the maker 3 only cuts the smart materials faster. Have you tried it?
Unless you make big designs everyone on smart materials it’s not worth it. Yes only faster on those and wasting materials bc I keep my scraps
Do I understand that if I buy a 30 to 50 foot long roll of vinyl that these machines will only use the first 1.9 feet in a project? So if I have a decal that is 3 feet long it will not cut it?

While I am disgusting… I mean discussing, another tangent, we have had a Cricut Maker for a couple of years, but actually only use it every once in a while. It has been a few months since we used it last. When we attempted to make a new project last week, it would ONLY attempt a “print then cut” job AND it would not let us select the 12” x 12” size (standard mat size), so we were not able to do the work; which was needed right away. Could this be due to software updates?

I just got the explore air 2 plus everything bundle for 199.00 plus tax. The machine arrived today. Still waiting on the everything bundle and my sticker paper I ordered for half off. I also had a coupon for 10$ off. So total with the free shipping was around 230$ cdn. Couldn’t pass up the deal. I’ve wanted to try and have a cricut for years and got the emerald with gold trim. (I didn’t expect the gold as it wasn’t advertised but I’m super happy about it).
For the Cricut machines that are compatible with smart vinyl, could you also use different vinyl that is not smart as well or do you only have to use smart vinyl? Thanks :)
yes you can use non-smart vinyl!

If you're looking to make thicker, high-quality cake toppers, I'd suggest the Maker models! They cut more materials than the Explore machines. Hope this helps!
When you say up to a 100 materials, do you mean after that the machine is done and won’t work anymore?
Hi Nelly! No not at all, that means it can cut 100 different types of materials - Cricut machines last for years and I’ve definitely surpassed the 100 project amount 🤣 I hope this helps!

Hi! Cricut machines are cutting machines only - if you’re looking to make projects like stickers, you’d need a printer in order to do the “print then cut” method! Hope this helps 🤎

hi Doug! Your Cricut machine will come with a wire that gets plugged in the back of your Cricut and into your device (like a laptop or computer) hope this helps!

I have the cricut explore air 2 and I love it. It was my first cricut and I use it a lot. I have been on the fence on upgrading my Cricut. I really want to upgrade to the original maker but my thing is I don’t know if I would use all the tools on it. The only thing I like with the maker is the engraving tool. I like the explore 3 because of the no mat, no dial and it cut faster. So I’m on the fence on upgrading to the new explore or the original maker. I also hear good and the bad about the makers. So I just need someone opinion.
The explore 3 only faster with smart material. I don’t use those bc I drive use whole sheets size every time

No one these days use the dial… you set it to “custom” and select your setting in the computer.
When I had my Explore Air 2 I’d use my dial for vinyl all the time! Everyone uses the Cricut differently 😇

Prices always fluctuate depending on the time of the year! When I filmed this video it was most likely on sale at the time. Always keep checking your favorite sites like Cricut or Amazon because sales happen often, especially around the holiday season!

We bought the Cricut Maker at Costco last one on the shelf for $209.99. I'm just a noobee and have a pile of projects to do. I have Honda lawn mowers that required replacing a rusty deck and the decals that normally go on the deck are not available or they are priced way out of whack. And now . . . . . I can make them myself. I am also into golf so the proverbial "only golfers parking space" metal sign, tee bags, Taylormade & Calloway accessories & apparel is mine, ALL MINE! Ha ha ha ha haaaaaaaa!
