20% of a V56 puts the 2400G around GT 1030 performance and the 2200G about 10-15% slower. Apparently AMD got some wild overclocks on the desktop APUs so potentially even more performance for those willing to do so. Needless to say I'm excited. I'll finally have an excuse to build a HTPC/emulation machine
the dude is a hater just consider him your biggest fan. personally I think your channel is chill af. you obviously put work into your videos and I respect that.
Unless your emulating Wii U. That wants at least 4.5GHz quade core. (Hyperthreading helps but not overly needed.) to be stable on all games It also wants 16GB of RAM. (Speed and latency don't seem to matter it just wants a bundle of 16GB.) Then for the GPU I would suggest anything with 4GB of GDDR5 VRAM or higher. If you don't want it to take all day to load, (It will on a HDD trust me.) you need a SSD... So hard to build a system like this for cheap haha!
jakub ss You buy these X systems for a need, only upgrade path you plan is storage and volatile memory. If you run some Data Center or VM solution on it, the build needs to fit that need, not needing any upgrades at all.
With these APUs, AMD really need to get access to the STX formfactor for those sweet small gaming PCs. The DeskMini from AsRock with AMD APU would be a killer machine!
The CPUs are definitely going to close the gap on gaming performance compared to Intel in most games. If you do the math Zen only needs to hit ~4.2Ghz to match the 8400, and ~4.6Ghz to match the stock 8600K. This is ignoring unoptimised games, optimised games, higher than 1080p resolutions, and GTX 1070/V56 or lower graphics cards of course. Those APUs are going to be great for budget builds though. Especially with current GPU pricing. Interested to see how they perform overclocked.

For what? Minesweeper? You won't enjoy gaming on it seriously. Sure it will be cheap and technically it will run games but is that crappy performance worth it when you can
Of course, but gaming on that APU will be less dumb than paying 600+$ for a 1070 (and waiting weeks, or even months to get it delivered), even if you have to make large compromises.
Impressive! Especially building a budget gaming PC! I'm staying with my 1700X for a long time unless Ryzen 2 is a real game changer. The biggest downside to building now is RAM prices. With the APU, it will hopefully keep a budget gamer happy until GPU prices come back from the moon.....
I hate RAM right now, I have 8gb which is a joke, plus I am at college doing 3d work, 3d sculpting, ue4 work etc. And 8gb of ram just dies at soon as I do anything with more than one program open, and it's so expensive I can't even get a bit more :'(
Why do you need a Ryzen when you have a 4690k ? That thing still performs well and you will probably only gain 5-10% FPS in games (that 3-6 more FPS). Except if you do CAD or photo / video editing, in which a 16 thread Ryzen would blow the i5. If you only do gaming, get a 1070 or RX Vega 56 and you're off to the races.
MrBiky I upgraded to a Ryzen 7 coming from a i5 4690k. The gains in CPU intensive games like The Witcher 3, Battlefield 1 and GTA 5 are enormous! From 30/40fps in LosSantos to above 60fps is far more than I expected. Not to mention that I'm able to do a ton of things at the same time now. Like gaming, streaming, chatting and recording. No problem for the Ryzen CPU where those 4 cores really struggled.
+MrBiky The 4690k does *not* perform "well" anymore in many titles. However I agree that Ryzen isn't the best upgrade path for him. THe APU's look really good. Pretty impressive numbers and features. Between notebooks, HTPC's and entry level PC's they are going to be hard to beat. Especially if you consider the upgrade path of you can get with one and the fact you can overclock the processors and graphics, given how cheap cooling is these days that is a huge win. - buy b350 motherboard, 2400g. - Upgrade to dedicated gpu later on. - upgrade CPU later on. The initial savings you make to get up and running can go towards better RAM, a bigger SSD or m.2, good cooling maybe that slick case you were wanting. I'm a fan.
Sorry hate to admit it the flamers will get angry, but AMD just kicked the ever lovin shit outta Intel this time around. Suppose the PanicLake cpu's will be rushed out like the CoffeeLake ones were lol
Makoro Gaming Lmao, Ryzen is for people that actually produce something. Big companies are buying AMD for servers and design like they never were before.
Given how expensive discrete graphics may become moving forward, perhaps the future is high performance APUs in order to obtain reasonable builds. This is actually something Intel would benefit from greatly because they can continue to profit from requiring a new MoBo with each new generation APU. Glad to see that AMD has decided to offer a $99 chip, I am going to make a fun little HTPC/Web browsing PC out of one of the two SKUs for sure.
@dsoism's point is that Intel makes motherboard chipsets so they profit from every 8th gen CPU sale with a motherboard; and since every generation seems to require a new chipset (Z270 won't work with Coffee Lake so you need Z370 which is expensive, so Intel sells another chipset). AMD says AM4 is good until 2020 so you'll have an upgrade path. When I upgrade from 7700k, it'll be to AMD. Having to buy multiple motherboards within one year is unreasonable (Z270 then Z370).
Honestly who give a fuck about having to buy a new mobo for new gens? It's not like this is really something you can avoid. It's not like vishra buyers didnt have to upgrade there boards for a Ryzen, and its not like anyone currently on Ryzen or Intel gen 7 will have a good reason to upgrade to Ryzen 2 or Gen 8. Backwards compat is and always has been extremely limited in it's usefulness. Honestly what percent of CPU or sold to custom builder, and what percent of those users are going to new CPUs in 2 years time? Who dafua does that? How many rich kids out there will do this and petty enough to complain about the cost of board? Beside that at the rate we are getting new storage technology most of are going to want or at least benefit from new boards with new builds upgrade reguardless.
yeah and a MB for vishra costs about £30-60 and the vishra CPU cost about £80 so yea i don care to much about that upgrade cost but when your talking about a £200 or in intel case £250 mother board so you can stick a refreshed CPU design on the board offerig +5% performance yeah i would at that point
+Sam Can First off your comparing the cost of a platform that is 5 years old to one that is a couple months as though they were both potential upgrades ( like anyone is going to "upgrade" to Vishra in 2018). Vishra is the system that AMD users will be uprading from, not to. Secondly we have the internet right in front of us why would you lie about mobo cost to make AMD look good. Are you really so attached to a brand that you need to cover them with lies. NOBODY IS UPGRADING FOR A 5% PREFORMANCE BOOST. That's the entire point of last post. Almost nobody is going to uprade on a one year cycle. Nobodys going from gen7 to gen8. Nobodys going from Ryzen to Ryzen2. And therefor almost nobody benefits form backwards compatible boards. It's an absurdly small market of people that probably doesnt even include you, and yet here you are complaining about intel forces Rich-AF-upgrading every year jackoffs to buy new motherboards. Heres a fact. My last build was better then any AMD offering at the time of build. My new build is better then any AMD offering at this time. Got about 2 extra cores and about 25% more single core performance. Did I pay a premium for the high brand? OC I did. Did I pay the stupid kinds of money? No OC.
Nirap Singh I hope so, AMD progressed a lot with their drivers last year, but this is a new architecture, and many distros will have problems getting the right drivers during installation unlike Nvidia's.
Will be interesting to see how much better Ryzen+ perform and overclock (with x470). Also nice that the "real" apu's are coming! Great performance at that price! I wonder if there will be Ryzen 7 apu's with 8 cores and more Vega cores?? Good going AMD!!
Do you reckon the upgrade to Ryzen 2 from my old FX-8350 would be worth it? I'm noticing that I'm not getting the framerates I should be getting out of my GTX 1060 6gb.
Depends on which one you'd be going for, how much money you're willing to spend. But I think it'd be a worthwhile upgrade even just from an FX to Ryzen 1. So yeah, Ryzen 2 would be a damn fine upgrade.
I cant wait to see the new APU compared to the last gen. I've been wanting to build a super compact, portable gaming rig with an APU for a couple years but wanted to wait for the new APUs.
Just a small correction. Ryzen tops out around 3600mhz ram, not 3000. I've run 3600 on both a 1700, and later on my 1950x by enabling the xmp profile. No overvolting.
i have a question wich mainboard would u choose for minimum power consumption i heard the new boards would be worth the extra buck for better prezission boost 2 but if i see the thing i ask myself wont all the bling bling oversized oc components waste more power than u would safe ? especialy if u run a 2400g whitout dedicated graphics card ? i hate the fact that manufacturers dont seem to share what the actual mainboards consume / waste
Maybe I missed it. There was no mention of feature difference between x370 and 470 motherboards. All I caught was that the majority of the changes will come from the CPU side of things. So which is it, will the x370 lose out on features, or is it basically the same chipset?
I thought the next Zen to come out was going to be Zen+ (being the same, or close to it, architecture) not Zen 2 (being the actual next architecture in the Zen line), was I wrong?
Have had a AMD A10-6800 APU in a aluminum MATX case that has been my LANBOX portable gaming PC for 5 years. Usually just ran with IGP, 8GB DDR3-2400, and a 200gb SSD. Just built a Mini-ITX system with Gigabyte GA-AB350N mobo, 8GB DDR4-2666, 500gb WD M.2 drive, and a RX560-4GB. Now just waiting on Raven Ridge APU which will be a significant upgrade from the A10-6800.
Anlushac11 If you can get your hands on an A-10 7890 I'd highly recommend it. It does great on 1080p games at medium settings. Ie EverQuest 2, W.O.W. etc.
Found a Ryzen7 1700 for $250 but a decent GTX 1060 GPU is insanely priced at the moment. Since I just want to use the PC for productivity do I wait for the 2nd gen R5 with Vega graphics or get the R7 deal and hope for GPU prices to go down?
In a recent question to and AMD employee (I can't remember who it was asked if the APU's would be based on the Ryzen 2 (IE have those upgrades) and the answer was yes, though it wasn't specified if it was 14nm or 12nm just that it would have the improved latency and precision boot.
AMD checks load privilege before speculative execution, with Intel it does not happen until retirement in certain cases. Specter is a bug that all modern CPU's have but it's much less dangerous than meltdown which works without the need to exploit a privileged process.
@HardwareCanucks You really deserve more subscribers...Now I just subscribed because for some reason (Though i've been watching you for 2 years or so) I could have sworn I was subbed.
Im still using the g4560..planning to upgrade to a ryzen r5 1400,but looks like im going to scrap the project bcause this r5 2400G would be the perfect sidestep in the htpc industry,g4560+gtx 1060 on my main rig and the new apu in my next htpc...2018 is sweettt
Marin Ionita I’m trying to make that decision right now, but I can’t decide on a cpu, I need gaming + multithreaded applications, if I can’t decide on the cpu or the ram (clearance), I can’t pick the aio :( but the Thermaltake is ok and anything that has the newer Asetek pump, I much prefer the look of the Corsair and the Kraken though :( I thought CES might have had something new hhhh I will probably go with the one that looks the best in my build, as they are all really close to each other in performance
im not planning on upgrading my current ryzen system when the new ones come out. my current system was a huge upgrade for me anyway, compared to my last one which was a core 2 duo from 2008.
Is it worth upgrading to Ryzen+ tho? I have a R5 1600 and i'm a bit dissapointed. Would it be worth it? Its hard to say right know, i know that but what do you guys think?
Probably wait until the reviews for the CPUs come out to see if it is worth a few months after release. Then compare the price to performance with the older models.
Here's my thought process. Why not get high end ryzen based parts for my next build, but cheap out on the CPU, then buy a high end 2nd gen Ryzen CPU when they come out and just swap them out? No waiting, and least amount of money wasted (or save it for a lower end build for whatever reason).
Angel Bob did that myself too, got a x370 mobo (asrock x370 killer sli) and a ryzen 3 1200. if i in the future decide to upgrade and go higher end im sure i have a good motherboard. and even now i utilise it for its extra features and better overclocking capabilities
just hold on! i did buy a 1700 at $239 cause of black friday! If budget is an issue, just wait for the ryzen 2's, especially for the ones with the radeon inside! Who knows? it could be amazing and u can save on getting a graphics card haha (considering how badly the prices are now) no point getting any x370 or ryzens now as the prices will definitely drop
Yeah that's my current plan, I was originally going to get a Ryzen 3 1200 and a 1050ti with a nice Asus PRIME X370 PRO motherboard and 16GB 2400 RAM. But now I am going to wait till next month when the 2400G comes out, then put the £100 saved towards higher speed 3000 MHz RAM which APUs really benefit from. Then I'm all set to upgrade to a Zen2 1600 equivalent CPU and a good value mid range graphics card plus a Vsync monitor combo.
Yes I am still kinda new to PC and processors and all but am I the only one that is confused about how Ryzen 2 or Plus or what ever it is called is gonna fit in X370 boards if they are smaller and all. Also I have a Asus X370 board and I was wondering if I should sell it and buy a new chip and board or just wait a year or 2 and buy a new chip
Holy moly. In the current wasteland of skyrocketing prices. Its really a nice breath of fresh air to see these performance at such a great price point.
I am personally looking at Ryzen 2 6-8core to replace an i5 3570k@4.2ghz setup. Now if I am able to get it to Oc to at least 4.2 if not higher that would be perfect. Plan on doing more streaming so more cores would be good.
I was planning on finishing my ITX build with a Ryzen 7 first generation, but this looks really promising. I think I'll wait for the second generation. I believe it will be more mature.
Nathan Watts haha you're right! That's the good thing about waiting, we'll know if the slight revision is worth it then we choose. Either way, I'm sticking with AMD, their offerings are way more appealing :D
I've always been a bit of an Intel guy simply because of 'piece of mind' type thing. I've never worked with a AMD CPU before but holy hell is AMD kicking some ass out there. Every video that I see about the new AMD stuff just tilts me more and more to AMD. As always, great video HC!
I'm not sure if I should wait for Ryzen 2 or get the 1800x now, since the prices are way less than the 2800x will be. I'm planning on build a new PC with a 1080Ti (or 2080 when its released) and 32GB of RAM. If I do wait for Ryzen 2, I'd probably end up going with the 2700 or 2700x instead. Do any of you have recommendations?
I think your should wait. The Ryzen+ should improve in a really impressive way, same about Nvidia 20xx series. Did you know that Titan V already beats 1080 Ti in gaming through not intended for that? It means the 2080 will be a beast. So, I suggest waiting a bit. P.S. Ryzen 2 will come out in 2020, I think you meant the Ryzen+.
With the price of gpu's seemingly going to stay high for some time. Would it be realistic to do a build with the 6 core 2600 APU and buy a gpu at a later date when prices drop ? I am in real need of a new desktop but don't want to throw money away on a gpu that I could never justify. I do heavy Photoshop work plus some video editing. Haven't played games in about 8 years but can't rule it out.
They are compatible with current ryzen motherboards so shouldn't have to worry too much about getting a cheap one. I'd personally go with a b350 motherboard as you'll have the ability to overclock. They go for around $65-$80
I have been waiting for AMD's APU launch. I want to build a HTPC that will stream 4K at 60 fps. No one has mentioned if this is going to be the case. It seems to be avoided.
I built a TV PC this summer and used a Ryzen 5. Then I remembered a graphics card I had lying around so I popped it in and the PC would not boot... I tried everything, checked all hardware but it would never boot. I basically got frustrated and left it there. This will be a good chance to take it into microcenter and swap it for the new one. Woot woot 2 year extended warranty FTW. These look sick!
I'd love to build a new rig. I have my upgrade on hold due to the ridiculous GPU prices. The DRAM shortage isn't helping things either. I really don't feel like paying over double what the card launched at just for an upgrade.
honestly I'm surprised that AMD's ryzen CPUs use a single die for both CCXes and the controllers perhaps they could have gotten even better yields and pricing had they split it into 3 dies, 1 per ccx, then a 3rd for the various memory/sata/pcie controllers
Maximilian Schütze - Essentially, yes. Though the APU and notebook won't follow exactly the same timeline as their desktop CPU's, the concept is still the same. Shrink transistor size, then improve architecture - rinse and repeat.
I like the idea that I can buy an AM4 socket mobo, put a raven ridge APU in, then wait for black friday/crypto collapse to land a dedicated GPU, and never have to throw anything away.
I got a 1200 to wait for a refresh but honesty with the price of ram i doubt i will get something else maybe a 2600 if the ram goes down a little to take real advantage of it.
20% of a V56 puts the 2400G around GT 1030 performance and the 2200G about 10-15% slower. To be fair, they are bandwidth limited :(
BILLABONGSTEFANO I'm not promoting. I watched the entire video and gave my thoughts on it. I'm sorry that bothers you but idk what to tell ya bud.

Depends, it matters if you buy windows oem since it's married to motherboard.
I think they used HDMI 1.2 ports, which made them useless if you wanted to use them to stream to your TV.

you are acting like buying ram you need a payday loan. go donate plasma a few times and you can upgrade your ram.
......yeah..... sell your "blood" to get more RAM..... nice.
selling plasma isn't selling blood, but in college I was making over $100 a month donating plasma.
I want to upgrade my 1050ti and i5 4690k to ryzen, but those damn gpu and ram prices are a no go...
Brent Garcia yeah, the prices suck!, I just built my first pc with 1070 and 2400mhz ram but had to spend the amount of a 1080 and 3000mhz ram :(
Why do you need a Ryzen when you have a 4690k ? That thing still performs well and you will probably only gain 5-10% FPS in games (that 3-6 more FPS). The 4690k is perfectly suited for most modern games. Extra 4 threads will do next to nothing for gaming performance...
They need to allow BIOS flashing without a supported CPU on all motherboards
It's about time that changed.
I have a friend who flashed his AM4 370 board to support the 8700k. It gets fps now.

Funny...
-_-
Gordon Goodman lol fake as fvck
thanks for the AMD info, the 2400G looks pretty good for 1080P I wouldnt buy a Ryxen 1400 but I would buy the 2400G.
Can we added some vga like gtx 1050 in 2400g to increase performance? Sory for english
Unfortunately no, you`ll have to choose between apu graphics and a separate card.
Maybe able to crossfire it with an RX 560? I dunno...
I think you can actually, you might have to do some research on that, but I think the APU's intergraded graphics are compatable with crossfire on other AMD cards.
The main point is that you can add a graphics card later if you want. You are not restricted to only using the integrated graphics.
I’m down for the APU build. Feb 12th is right around the corner. I’m thinking SFF Inwin Chopin itx vesa mounted 💪

Robert Kowalke no thanks i wont buy ryzen as its dogshit at csgo.
you mean the guys that said x370 will work for 4 gens and already the first one is worse on x370 than x470?
2911oscar lmao
Makoro Gaming Lmao, Ryzen is for people that actually produce something.
Big companies are buying AMD for servers and design like they never were before.
Robert Kowalke AMD is operating at 1/10th of the budget too lol
Given how expensive discrete graphics may become moving forward, perhaps the future is high performance APUs in order to obtain reasonable builds. This is actually something Intel would benefit from greatly because they can continue to profit from requiring a new MoBo with each new generation APU. Glad to see that AMD has decided to offer a $99 chip, I am going to make a fun little HTPC/Web browsing PC out of one of the two SKUs for sure.
You know miners can mine any gpu right? Also Intel does not make motherboards.
+Sam Can
First off your comparing the cost of a platform that is 5 years old to one that is a couple months as though they were both potential upgrades ( like anyone is going to "upgrade" to Vishra in 2018).
No OC.
I desperately want an excuse to build a Raven Ridge APU-based system.
jauffins Current GPU prices aren't enough?
TruBlaze That is a good reason in my opinion.
My biggest questions with Ryzen Mobile, specially the APUs are Linux AMD drivers.
Crimson Koba better then nvidia
Nirap Singh I hope so, AMD progressed a lot with their drivers last year, but this is a new architecture, and many distros will have problems getting the right drivers during installation unlike Nvidia's.
Don't worrie about that AMDGPU driver it's now integrated within Linux Kernel, also you have new MESA drivers that works nice with AMD.
yeah MESA is a much better option then AMDs own drivers for Linux
Another member of the linux cult
Will be interesting to see how much better Ryzen+ perform and overclock (with x470). Also nice that the "real" apu's are coming! Great performance at that price!
I wonder if there will be Ryzen 7 apu's with 8 cores and more Vega cores??
Good going AMD!!
Sebastian Hakansson - I'm wondering the same thing... Would be cool to see APU's with 8 cores, 16 threads, and 16-24 CU's.
Chris K Woah. Respect. You have patience
The Real Bleach lol, it helps that I already have a solid ITX gaming rig.
Chris K Nice
Those VRM heatsinks are love.
Just a small correction. Ryzen tops out around 3600mhz ram, not 3000. I've run 3600 on both a 1700, and later on my 1950x by enabling the xmp profile. No overvolting.
Will there be more cpu's from this series
may be u can give us some information regarding the emulation performance of the 2200g?
So do I wait for Ryzen 2 or just build a thread ripper setup now??
What about Spectre??
That's what I'm interested in knowing. Will the 2nd Gen Ryzen CPUs have better security to mitigate Spectre?
i have a question wich mainboard would u choose for minimum power consumption i heard the new boards would be worth the extra buck for better prezission boost 2 but if i see the thing i ask myself wont all the bling bling oversized oc components waste more power than u would safe ? especialy if u run a 2400g whitout dedicated graphics card ? i hate the fact that manufacturers dont seem to share what the actual mainboards consume / waste
When the new ryzen apu's come out can you do benchmarks with Vega with and without crossfire with the apu's?
Wait? AM4 till 2019? Not 2020? Seems I can't upgrade to Ryzen 3 then..
AM4 is until 2020 with Zen 3 :)
Current (all AM4) roadmap:
2018 Pinnacle Ridge (Ryzen+)
2019 Zen 2
2020 Zen 3
Most of the other reviewers said around 2020 and he said at least 2019.. so at least for another year is already better than intel
it's 2019 included.
Either way glad I chose Ryzen over Intel ;)
Will there be a a second gen ryzen 3 for budget builders
Maybe I missed it. There was no mention of feature difference between x370 and 470 motherboards. All I caught was that the majority of the changes will come from the CPU side of things. So which is it, will the x370 lose out on features, or is it basically the same chipset?
Just wait, we will see.
Good to hear some news on new APUs. I was waiting for them since Ryzen came out.
Do we know if B450 motherboards have been announced, and how much the newer processors and motherboards are likely to cost?
Does only raven ridge have apu? Or both raven and pinnacle ridge have apu?
HardwareCanucks why haven't you reviewed the Thermaltake Core V1 yet? Please review that case.
Is there any `more detailed´ information about ryzen 2?
will 2200g perform better then ryzen zen+ 2nd gen cpus? time will say..
I thought the next Zen to come out was going to be Zen+ (being the same, or close to it, architecture) not Zen 2 (being the actual next architecture in the Zen line), was I wrong?
Not sure what the change is, if any... But I feel like the audio is much better in this video, compared to most of the other narrated ones. (:
eager for the APU, question is, how may PCIe lanes it will have.. Would be awesome to pare that with some GPU's for a render farm
So do I pair up a graphics card with and an APU?
if i have a Ryzen can i disable some cores in order to have a higher single core
frequency ???
Ie EverQuest 2, W.O.W. etc.
Would using dual channel memory be beneficial for the CPU compared to single channel if you'r using APU/iGPU processor with a dedicated graphics card?
Definitely. Dual channel will be better in any scenario.
Yes.
As in worth while gain, concerning current prices.
Hoping to see an all AMD build on my desk next year or so.
Found a Ryzen7 1700 for $250 but a decent GTX 1060 GPU is insanely priced at the moment. Since I just want to use the PC for productivity do I wait for the 2nd gen R5 with Vega graphics or get the R7 deal and hope for GPU prices to go down?
Safal Rana Magar go for it. get a cheap 2nd hand GPU for the time being.
why is APU compared to recently out line up of ryzen rather than comparing it to old version of APU like a10-7850k?
What do you mean lower first gen ryzen prices? Is the next generation going to not so much bang for your buck ?
In a recent question to and AMD employee (I can't remember who it was asked if the APU's would be based on the Ryzen 2 (IE have those upgrades) and the answer was yes, though it wasn't specified if it was 14nm or 12nm just that it would have the improved latency and precision boot.
KVM support?
Can i still use discrete gpu with apu?
Yes
I'm wondering if they will perform better with a freesync monitor. Like a few fps better?🙃
Wut ? Freesync doesn't improve the computation speed.
I thought spectre and meltdown exploit predictive processing. How are they avoiding this type of security issue?
AMD checks load privilege before speculative execution, with Intel it does not happen until retirement in certain cases. Specter is a bug that all modern CPU's have but it's much less dangerous than meltdown which works without the need to exploit a privileged process.
@HardwareCanucks You really deserve more subscribers...Now I just subscribed because for some reason (Though i've been watching you for 2 years or so) I could have sworn I was subbed.
you didn't talk about 2nd gen ryzen though
Im still using the g4560..planning to upgrade to a ryzen r5 1400,but looks like im going to scrap the project bcause this r5 2400G would be the perfect sidestep in the htpc industry,g4560+gtx 1060 on my main rig and the new apu in my next htpc...2018 is sweettt
Soooooo WHEN? I am building a new high end desktop system and need to know WHEN Ryzen 2 with X470 will be available.
when does the h150i pro review come
Marin Ionita it’s a cable mess with the same pump as the rest of them, it does have mag lev fans in its favor though (quieter)
Paul Daly which AIO would you buy for an 8700k?
Doesn't most current-gen Ryzen's / 300-series motherboards achieve 3000+ MHz these days, with BIOS updates?
Least I often hear this.
Does that mean we can crossfire the new AMD vega APUs with Vega GPUs? of RX 400/500 Series?
Wil the Apu 2200g outperform Rx 560
Is it worth upgrading to Ryzen+ tho? I have a R5 1600 and i'm a bit dissapointed. Would it be worth it? Its hard to say right know, i know that but what do you guys think?
Ryzen is on the come up
Probably wait until the reviews for the CPUs come out to see if it is worth a few months after release. Then compare the price to performance with the older models.
I want to see thunderbolt 3 on and systems or some form of external pci-e link
Can somone help me? I get error message 0x80070032 when i boot up my laptop
"*manufacturers Suggested Pricing as of Dec. 5, 2018. see footnote RZG-09" how do you see so far into the future?
Here's my thought process. Why not get high end ryzen based parts for my next build, but cheap out on the CPU, then buy a high end 2nd gen Ryzen CPU when they come out and just swap them out? No waiting, and least amount of money wasted (or save it for a lower end build for whatever reason).
It's OK not to talk!
Who knows? it could be amazing and u can save on getting a graphics card haha (considering how badly the prices are now)
no point getting any x370 or ryzens now as the prices will definitely drop
Yeah that's my current plan, I was originally going to get a Ryzen 3 1200 and a 1050ti with a nice Asus PRIME X370 PRO motherboard and 16GB 2400 RAM. But now I am going to wait till next month when the 2400G comes out, then put the £100 saved towards higher speed 3000 MHz RAM which APUs really benefit from. Then I'm all set to upgrade to a Zen2 1600 equivalent CPU and a good value mid range graphics card plus a Vsync monitor combo.
Man, I would love to have you guys build me a custom pc. You guys seem like legit people who know what you're doing.
Good video,
Can't wait for the benchmarks.
new APU and HTPC?
Yes I am still kinda new to PC and processors and all but am I the only one that is confused about how Ryzen 2 or Plus or what ever it is called is gonna fit in X370 boards if they are smaller and all. Also I have a Asus X370 board and I was wondering if I should sell it and buy a new chip and board or just wait a year or 2 and buy a new chip
The APU sounds like it will make a great HTPC, assuming it's capable of running Kodi in 4K smoothly and they make some motherboards with HDMI 2.0.
basically Ryzen 2200G will crush both Pentiums and I3 processors when released :D
Will AMD Launch All Ryzen Chips in 2nd Gen ? Curious if i can get a Ryzen 2600 by The Time of Release...
Holy moly. In the current wasteland of skyrocketing prices. Its really a nice breath of fresh air to see these performance at such a great price point.
I find myself charged to build a surf and mail pc for a relative. Was planning on a 8 gen i3 but think i will wait and go for a 2200g based system
I am personally looking at Ryzen 2 6-8core to replace an i5 3570k@4.2ghz setup. Now if I am able to get it to Oc to at least 4.2 if not higher that would be perfect. Plan on doing more streaming so more cores would be good.
So my question is, does anyone actually know what the clock speeds for Zen+ are gonna look like? Are we gonna see mid-4GHz stock like Intel is doing?
Should I buy a Ryzen 1700 or wait for Zen 2?
David Liu if you can then wait.
wait for price drops :) they will be pretty decent I would say 25-30% off.
I was planning on finishing my ITX build with a Ryzen 7 first generation, but this looks really promising. I think I'll wait for the second generation. I believe it will be more mature.
or save some money wait and get a ryzen 7 for the price of a ryzen 5 when they do the discounts :)
Nathan Watts haha you're right! That's the good thing about waiting, we'll know if the slight revision is worth it then we choose. Either way, I'm sticking with AMD, their offerings are way more appealing :D
good stuff man very good review.
Should i buy a 8400 or wait for the r5 2600? i just want to game and the 8400 is on par with the 7700k in most titles
Hope they release the new chips soon, I need a new build.
Will Ryzen 2 incorporate TB3?
MacroStarK10 That's what I was thinking. Thanks for the reply 😀
Aerdian No problem, ask anytime!
I'm going to jump on the 2400G but I need to find a budget Mobo and Ram to pair it with
They are compatible with current ryzen motherboards so shouldn't have to worry too much about getting a cheap one.
These look sick!
does X470 support RYZEN 5 2400G? hoping for your reply..thanks
So excited for a new build in 2018 with ryzen 2!
I'd love to build a new rig. I have my upgrade on hold due to the ridiculous GPU prices. The DRAM shortage isn't helping things either. I really don't feel like paying over double what the card launched at just for an upgrade.
honestly I'm surprised that AMD's ryzen CPUs use a single die for both CCXes and the controllers
perhaps they could have gotten even better yields and pricing had they split it into 3 dies, 1 per ccx, then a 3rd for the various memory/sata/pcie controllers
Tic Toc is now at amd?
