    Yes, the GT is a hit, even with us beginners. I was trying to learn on a 48 year old dreadnought that had a 25 7/8" scale length (front of nut to saddle). I was learning, but struggling. I decided that I needed (read "wanted") a shorter scale guitar, so I went to the big-box store in the next town over and tried the GS-mini and the GT. I played them both (with the chords I knew) for about 10 minutes each, then did it again. I really liked both of them, but decided I'd better go home and sleep on it (even though I REALLY wanted to take a guitar home that night). I decided on the GT (no e since it wasn't in stock and I didn't want to wait). When I played the GT that first day at the store I notice that my chord changes were smoother as opposed to my old guitar (which I had purchased new in 1972). The GT can be (and is for some) a game-changer. I saw it first when you debuted it. Thanks, guys for all your great videos.

      @@markolwick2223 It's hard to find reasons to support people spending on the border of $1k to buy laminate guitars, when if you spend a couple hundred bucks more you can get into all solid wood construction. I wish they would feature other brands like Larrivee. They are a formidable opponent to Martin, and considerably less expensive.

    • @tp6439
      @tp6439 3 года назад

      Yamaha AC3M or AC3R are the most fantastic solid wood guitars I’ve played for under 1k. The A.R.E. Wood torrefaction. The Ebony fingerboard that feels so smooth and fast. Rich, full and deep sound while also having a Taylor-Ish mid range sound. These guitars check all the boxes you should really try to get your hands on one to test it out you will not be disappointed. Chris has reviewed them I believe so check that video out.

    I went into my local shop today to pick up strings and mentioned that the K24ce on the wall was really gorgeous and asked if it was the standard model and the guy said no it was some limited edition. Low and behold I watch this video and it was 1 of the 35 custom K24ce's. If I had the money I'd go back and buy it tomorrow morning.

    Hey! I travel a lot! I like the idea of carbon fiber guitar. It would be interesting how a carbon fiber compared to the counter wood competitors. I’m particularly interested in the fact that carbon fiber can deal with extreme temperatures, and altitude. I currently spent a lot money on an Enya guitar! I’m not happy with the sound I get out of it! It probably sounds better through an amplifier. I like Gibsons and Martian’s or Taylor’s, but I’m afraid to travel with a wood guitar. My experience with some airlines, I have to check in the guitar. One has to make sure you have a good guitar case!. The carbon fiber seems to be the best for the travel and dealing the ruggedness of travel temperatures, altitude and abuse.

    I'd agree with some of your list, but NOT ALL! My #10 Taylor Builders Edition 816ce #9 Martin SC 13e; $8 Taylor GT 811e; #7 Gibson Banner J45 Sunburst Vintage; #6 Lowden S-50 Sinker redwood; #5 Martin Custom Shop 00-28 12 fret amber tone hide glue; #4 Martin 000-28E Modern Deluxe; 3. Martin D-28 Authentic 1937 VTS; #2 Gibson Historic Custom Shop 1942 Southern Jumbo # 1 (I agreed) Chris McKee (missing sticky note) Signature Taylor 914ce LTD Engelmann. I've played all of these & own some...one was from my Dad to his Grandson, another to one of my Grandsons
    But #1 was from my wife to me, Christmas 2020. God rest her soul. Thanks for the rundown Cooper & Chris

    ...can't wait for the 2021 Taylor 1019CE 18 String Doubleneck V/C/X Class Builder's Edition Custom Shop Koa/Cocobolo/Macassar Ebony Washboard/Ukulele to come out...so Chris can put that in this year's top 5!
    ...or Taylor could just come out with a block of wood with a Taylor logo & a set of Elixirs...it will sneak in at #9 or #10.

    I'm still hoping Taylor Guitars get caught up with the backlog of orders, and produce the AD12 in a natural finish. My daughters look at my living room floor and I try not to see them roll their eyes at four guitars and a baritone uke, five cases all with humidifiers and hygrometers. Two Taylor (12, 12e), Breedlove Pursuit Concert, and Ibanez semi-hollowbody flamed maple (with Vox Mini3, with a line input for acoustic-electric!) AC30 Top Boost modeling with a little analog delay...
