That's just the nature of the silicone fluid, it breaks down with excessive heat. Nothing to worry about just a premature rebuild. Might warp the disks if it gets bad enough.
Gotta remember the coupler is designed for 4wd and not have the full load on it but testing it as rwd only is the best way to test its durability because its only going to see a a smaller percentage of the power....

Hey kyle great content as always love the channel and have followed for a long time... just a tip for you when welding a crack in a pipe or plate, be sure to drill a small hole at each end of the crack... it helps removed the stress from the material and also ends the split as the crack can go a lot further then what you can see... Take care bro 👍🏻
The viscous coupling is designed to slip, it’s the speed difference between the plates heats the fluid which then thickens and locks. It’s designed to be used between two diffs to allow them to run at different rates. It’s not designed to be used as you are doing.
That poor VC, sustained slipping like that is EXACTLY what kills them. They can take short bursts of slipping, but a long trip like that is gonna cook the fluid.
MAGNETIC (variable viscosity) FLUID aka Ferrofluid, have them look at using that in the viscous. high end cars use this for adjustable dampening, bikes as well. would be cool to be able to lock it up on the strip and lighten the fluid for street use... no charge for the idea. :)

I think it's got a little bit more to do with the fact that the welded diff in the back is placing more tension on the backside of the coupler and not allowing proper engagement, a traditional LSD would probably be a bit better for the coupler for full engagement.
Y’all should mod it into a quick change viscous system, get four different ones with different fluid viscosity inside so you can adjust the launch at the track!
Kyle, its slipping as it should, ut driving with no front axles . toss em back in, and then u will feel the slippage as the front pulls harder. Basically lower rpm the viscous will engage more, and as the rpm and power climbs, will slip more as rear isnt needed for transfer of power. Its all for launching mostly from a dig and loose dirt. So the front wheels can pull, rear assists, so fronts dont loose traction droppin that much power at front, and rears ease off ad ur rippin down the track and fronts do all the work. Well 90ish percent

Yeah I would have dissasembled it to see if the plates got damaged with heat, and if not just run a thicker fluid for better lockup.
