@@williambarylo I don't know who you think you found when you lost your phone but it was certainly not the God that spoke to Abraham & Moses (as Mohammad claimed, since there is no proof of this when comparing his revelations to the earlier Scripture). And before you jump on the Biblical corruption band-wagon, I have yet to see a single shred of evidence for this claim....so provide this in your defence of this claim.
So it seems you left Christianity due to personal issues, and gave up proven truth for an Islamic faith that can't be proven. And a faith that guarantee's it's faith-followers nothing.
Why following a man that was himself clueless of whom provided him with revelation in that cave, whom he feared was a demon and consider himself possessed (these are not my claims, check the Islamic sources to confirm this).
A stranger that came to him in that cave and never even told him his name or which god he represented - surah 96 (but he would later go on to falsely claim it was the Abrahamic God...really, where is the proof?). Is it any wonder this counterfeit god Allah would leave this man Mohammad without answers as he does below?
⦁ [Surah 46:8-9]; "...Say: 'I am not an innovation among the Messengers, and 🔷I KNOW NOT WHAT SHALL BE DONE WITH ME or with you. I only follow what is revealed to me; I am only a clear warner."
So apparently all Muslims are on their own...with no guarantee's of paradise. What type of faith is this that can't guarantee salvation, is this not the point to any religion, else what's the point?.
Yet in Christianity, Jesus guarantees this as he did to an unknown man before being crucified:
⦁ [Luke 23:39-43... Then he said to Jesus, “🔷REMEMBER ME, LORD, WHEN YOU COME INTO YOUR KINGDOM.”. And Jesus said to him, “🔷TRULY, I TELL YOU TODAY, YOU SHALL BE WITH ME IN PARADISE.”
Clearly Islam offers nothing, it can't even guarantee faithful followers a place in paradise as shown by it's prophet in the above verse, the only faith that guarantee's faithful followers a place in the hereafter is Christianity and in your haste you left it for Islam....really.

listening to your beautifully narrated fascinating story, i couldn't help but notice the similarity between your journey to islam and that of the prophet's saws who felt the need to self-isolate and contemplate in the cave until he received revelation from Allah.

Ok, as someone very open-minded to other cultures but also as someone of the same academic background as you and also as someone from a Polish family that has a lot of relatives who have migrated abroad across entire globe really I have to offer some constructive criticism. First, no, we cannot say that majority of Polish society is agnostic. This contradicts any available social data we have on this topic. Is Poland among countries with fastest decline in declared "religiosity"? Yes. Has to do with scandals in Catholic Church, pedophile scandals mostly and with youth forced to have a Catholic religion as obligatory subject while this problem is still not resolved by Polish Church or The Pope itself. So in fact it's more like ethical system didn't evolve as much as simply a social anger against immoral behaviour of the religious hierarchy grew stronger over time. As for Poland figthing against muslims in the past and islamophobia. This just defies the historical records. Poland was a peaceful country that somewhere in XIII century suddenly, almost overnight started to become a victim of brutal attacks from muslim communities seeking usual forms of development that migrating clans would seek- conquering new lands by surprise. And well, the very city in which I live got attacked literally overnight and everyone in this city got killed apart from a narrow group that locked itself inside one church that exists until now. It was Poland's first contact with muslim religion and with people speaking a language not known to Europeans back then. So hardly an islamophobia. A defensive war but also mixed with curiosity due to this sudden and intense cultural encounter was born. Poland and Ottoman Empire had a military brush. Poalnd effectively defended itself but also started studying the langauge and culture. Actually a monk at the service of a Polish King from the city in which I live was among the very first Europeans in medevial times to create a book with a dictionary of Turkish and with information on customs, religion and traditions of Ottoman Empire. Europe as a cultural and political empire and Ottoman Empire have tried a confrontation of their pwoers again and yes, this is why when cmingto the rescue of Vienna Polish forces clashed with Turkish forces again. But again, here history of Polish- Turkish tensions end and in fact till this day Turkey and a muslim country remains a country with the longest tradition of peaceful relationships ever recorded in Polish diplomatic history, spanning for over 120 years. So no, one cannot say that "Poland started contacts with muslim countries due to islamophobia". Poland simply as an attractive land to invade got invaded and successfully defended itself. And Poland as a loyal ally to other European Countries faced with a wave of Ottoman Empire military rides simply complied with its diplomatic obligations and helped Vienna to defend itself. And that's really all. Poland studied arabic, Turkish and islam long before any other country apat from modern day Czech Republic monks did, so cannot be seen as culturally "islamophobic" in any special way. As for "islamophobic", I think knowing your backstory of your family I think you are giving into direct experience of your family, which for many reasons was highly specific- workers always compete against immigrants for work and it was the case when Poland opened up after collapse of communism, emigrants in countries which are former colonial empires like France always compete for the very same jobs and wages , especially females. So I would say, for the sake of your research , try to educate more on Poland in Poland and through Polish sources, instead of projecting maybe French islamophobia or emigrants in France islamophobia on Poland. Those are two completely distinct areas of social research. As for your name, I think it's very Polish thing to do. All my relatives who moved abroad have given locally or internationally sounding names to their kids, so I think it also shows part of the essence of Polish society. What means Polish people seek blending in, an integration, not underlying the differences in ways that could be potentially highly conflictual. This is why Polish people learn language, customs of the country they emigrate to and give names like yours to kids. What should give you some idea about the fact that breeding some kind of crazy hostile islamophobia even in Poland itself is not something that blends in well with Polish peaceful existence loving mentality. I recall that we even had a survey in Poland once about who is your favourite Saint? ( Jaki jest twój ulubiony Święty?) Święty meaning " A prominent iconic religious character". And which answer has won? " Święty Spokój". And this is not a person or a character. Polish people simply answered " Sacred Peace of Mind". ;-)

Yes I agree Poland has a wonderful history and sadly political agendas have gotten into the way and it's wonderful Poland has disappeared from the maps many times but still reappeared. I agree it's good to see that despite historic fights, Poland and Turkey have now good political ties. There's also sometimes a fascination for people from Turkey and Egypt, many Poles I know have married Egyptian or Turkish people. Fortunately people have their own minds and can appreciate the nuances, and not believe the media or politicians like my parents did. I really hope that despite globalisation and modernity people can hold to their religious heritage. My grandmother, who I miss, was very religious in the sense of very principled. For my parents' and cousins' generation, it's different. While they identify as Catholics (as they would tick the box on surveys), they don't necessarily practice or hold strong beliefs ("belonging without believing"). But it comes and goes, people are different and change with time.
thank you for sharing your story, its so inspiring. and regarding the name change, muslim reverts are only required to change their name if it has a bad meaning or it contradicts Islamic teaching, like Abdu Manaf or Abd Allaat, i.e. worshipper of Manaf and Allaat (ancient pagan gods).
And changing your father's name and family is actually forbidden, its your father's right to carry his name, again, unless its contradicts the teachings of Islam. The prophet (PBUH) has said "call them to their fathers"

I personally think that submission is too passive a verb while following the right path is a matter of choice and action. There might be a part of acceptance but being a good person isn't necessarily a matter of belief especially since Islam mentions that people will be rewarded for their good deeds regardless of belief.

From a young age, my parents taught me to respect others, respect my parents, greet my parents when I meet them on the street with a good greeting. I was taught how to have a good relationship between God and humans and God's creation. so I laughed reading the islamphobic comments

MUHAMMAD AND THE ORIGIN OF ISLAM
It should not be surprising in the least to those familiar with the Koran and those with a knowledge of the genesis of this militant religion, that Islam was planted by Muhammad with the sword, not a philosophy or ethic of peace. El Schafi provides the following synopsis of the bloody beginnings of the Islamic religion:
Even the Muslim reader will be astonished to learn how cruel and brutal Muhammad was as he tortured his captives with fire, then killed them and took their wives as bond maids and wives for himself as well as for his companions. Had anyone dared to write defamatory poetry about him, the poet would have been assassinated whether a centenarian or a nursing mother. . . .
Following Muhammad’s death, his companions fought each other in relentless, savage wars. Competing for authority and out of deeply rooted hatred, Muhammad’s relatives and closest friends sacrificed and slaughtered on another. . . .
All these historical facts are agreed upon by all Muslim scholars and historians according to the references which will be mentioned in detail.
No wonder that we see Moslems these days fighting with each other. In fact, these wars and hostilities spring from the heart of the teachings of Islam since it calls for the use of force to combat wrongdoing, as Muhammad’s relatives did with one another. It was Muhammad who said that “whoever sees an abomination must straighten it with his hands.”” Saddam Hussein repeated and relied upon this saying of Muhammad in his attack on Kuwait’s
ruling family. Muslim brotherhood in Egypt depended upon this saying when they killed Anwar El Sadat.7
Muhammad founded Islam with the sword. His followers maintained Islamic rule with the sword. Subsequent generations have always spread Islam’s oppressive rule beyond the Arabian Peninsula with the sword. One cannot be a true follower of Islam without holding to the tenants of the Koran, which also advocates forced submission to its rule. How can anyone who knows much about Islam deny this?
SECULAR WESTERNERS
Why are so many in the United States and the West inclined to want to believe that Islam is a peaceful religion and not the militant movement that desires to conquer the world through Jihad? In general, it is most likely because of liberal enlightenment beliefs that dominate their mindset. Just as liberals change Christianity from something that includes the literal Word of God in the Bible that has occurred literally in history to the words of man that contain human ideas and universal human ethics. Western Muslims are often “liberal,” by Middle Eastern standards, in their interpretations of Islam. Just as liberal “Christians” deny direct biblical statements and reinterpret Christianity as something that they want it to be, so also do Muslims, primarily in the West. It is only in this way can anyone could attempt to represent Islam as a peaceful religion.
Obviously there are political motives behind President Bush and his administration that have given rise to their many statements that Islam is a peaceful religion. Yet such is simply not the case. If our American administration is going to truly defeat Islamic terrorism, they are going to have to face the fact that it is driven by a historic Muslim belief in holy war as a means of spreading their religion.
CONCLUSION
Biblical Christianity does not advocate the use of the sword to spread its message of forgiveness from sin by faith alone in Christ alone. The Bible advocates propagation of its message through the preaching of the gospel and verbal persuasion. Of course, Christians have the secret weapons of prayer and the Holy Spirit that works behind the scene in conjunction with the preaching of the gospel.
Is Christianity a religion of peace? Christianity is a religion of peace to those who come to know the grace of God through belief in the gospel message. Christianity is a peaceful religion in that Scripture does not advocate the spread of its message in any way through the sword, but with words only. However, the Bible clearly does teach that God, not mankind, will judge those who reject the gospel message of Jesus, His Son. Paul says the following in 2 Thessalonians 1:6-10: “For after all it is only just for God to repay with affliction those who afflict you, and to give relief to you who are afflicted and to us as well when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with His mighty angels in flaming fire, dealing out retribution to those who do not know God and to those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus. And these will pay the penalty of eternal destruction, away from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of His power, when He comes to be glorified in His saints on that day, and to be marveled at among all who
have believed-for our testimony to you was believed.” Maranatha!
