Yes, goodness this is spot on. I just had to cut ties with my addict sister. She was unable/unwilling to take responsibility for her actions - let alone her addiction, she'sin toral denial sadly. I had to protect myself and my family from her irresponsibility. I told her I looked forward to reconciling one day, when she is healed. I pray every day for that moment, I pray that she receives healing from Jesus Christ, and knows and loves Him one day. Thank you for all of your good work.
My daughter was an addict, i told her she could not be around , unless she was clean, it is never cut and dry, but she did get clean, more than 2 years now, and just finished school for EMT, i pray your sister finds her way.❤
Im on the process of leaving my husband of 14 years its been hell. But its hard for me to let go we got a 5 year old. I left 11/8 no money no job i just got a lil job making $15.50 its not much but it will help me And my son get a home a small place. Im so scared he is all I’ve known for 14 years we been married for 5 😢
Been there. You do exist and just because they act that way doesn't define you or rank you. It just describes their mental ditch right now. So we pray and do good and let go and love... Yes, I finally chose to love. Setting boundaries is not unloving. But praying and following the Holy Spirit's promoting in individual situations... Always expressing the fruit of the light: goodness, righteousness and truth. When I realized that a selfish person absolutely cannot produce the fruit of the Spirit... And when I realized maybe Jesus' didn't feel like going to the cross but looked to the joy at the end... That I could endure sibling pecking order and bias. "Love wins the war." And... After 25 years of ignoring my birthday, my brother finally called and wished me a Happy Birthday.
So what about an aging parent that is 86 and I’ve been taking care of her since she was 52. I’m so parentified and I’m so over it. She’s in a nursing home and I don’t have an ounce of care left.
“The wounds of a friend are faithful, but the kisses of an enemy are deceitful.” (Proverbs 27:6) Let’s say you are the difficult parent, how would you want to be treated by a daughter or son? I think it is better that you be honest where you are with this family member right? Sometimes it is better to end it or cut ties than keep showing up & care for that person begrudgingly. Remember that God loves a cheerful giver. Let your emotion be the compass. If it feels more like a chore then surrender that person to God.
I don't agree with you. This is not in the spirit of Ubuntu to ex communicate people because they don't fall in line. I'm.going back to my country where people are incredibly soft. I remember Brian telling me once never to be unkind to people who are originally from Africa. They are very gentle and take offence easily. I hope we can learn something from one another. The only way to the Father is through Christ, not.man. I am His child worthy or not by any human. My season of Ubuntu is coming up. I hope we can learn from each other.
Who is this spirit called Ubuntu because if you belong to Jesus Christ (ONLY by faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ and not by works or you being good) then the only spirit you should reference and WALK in by FAITH is the Holy Spirit. This Ubuntu is another spirit and not of the Holy Trinitiy and it is a form of humanism which is not biblical nor of Christ but of the world. I hope that you come from under this spirits authority and submit ONLY to the Holy Spirits authority. You become a child of God (John 1:12) when you BELIEVE the gospel of grace according to 1 Cor. 15:1-4.
@@NicoleJanksvery 🧐 interesting. I do think there is a time to “let people go”, but not necessarily to “cut people off”. I agree with you - the Lord calls us to be forgiving and restorative, however, sometimes people need boundaries and distance is healthier. The Lord will bring them what they need - we can fall into a savior mindset as believers in Christ! We can also be naive and easy to be taken advantage of. Consider a relative is a sexual predator and you have small children? Sometimes severe distance is healthy in order to keep everyone safe and protected. Consider Lot and Abraham having the o go their separate ways. God bless you sister ❤

Perhaps you could be there for her without cutting yourself off? She may need your love and support. You may have addictions yourself yr not seeing

What are you supposed to do when your siblings treat you as if you don’t exist? Don’t include you in major events like weddings?
You aren’t alone! ❤

In that right now. But now that I understand who they are and how they view me, it’s a blessing to not have them here to hurt me.
Seems they're jealous of you, perhaps?

@ please look it up. It's what every South African knows. For me, a follower of Christ, it's a metaphor.
