This is an incredible performance. Danny sounds incredible.... such mature well thought out lines. The rhythm section is one of the best I've heard around LA. And Dick Oatts is one of my hero's. I've taken several lessons with him, her him dozens of time with Mel Lewis then the Vanguard Band. He's a special person and player.

I'm so glad I stumbled across these recordings, after finding a DIck Oatts compilation on Bernie's bootlegs. These are two great alto players, and the whole group is just so musical and fun to listen to.

I thought so! I play its cousin, the Ebolin (same design, slightly different material). A couple of my favorite artists play Brilharts - Lou Donaldson and Maceo Parker. I notice he's banded the shank, which is typical since the Tonalins tend to crack.
