This is a review of Puritan's Pride Vitamin D3 10,000 I.U. softgels.I do not "review" supplements very often because it is very difficult to accurately determine the efficacy of such things. So my review of Vitamin D3 has more to do with the size of the softgels and what they contain. A blood test will indicate the levels of the Vitamin D you have in your blood but that's about it.My doctor recommended I increase my intake of vitamin D3 from 2,000IU to 10,000 IU per day. So rather than take 5, 2,000 IU softgels, I decided to purchase these 10,000 I.U. softgels. Prior to ordering them, I wasn't sure how large they were going to be. I was concerned they might be gigantic horse pills. Fortunately they weren't that large at all.Of some concern to some people may be the fact that these contain gelatin. Other ingredients are Safflower Oil and Vegetable Glycerin.I don't take many supplements but when I do I am primarily concerned about the qualtiy and accuracy of the dosage. Not all supplements deliver the dosage they claim to have and it's not necessarily very easy to confirm these things either. The Puritan's Pride brand had a good reputation as far as I could tell from my research so it seemed to be a good choice.
- Here comes the sun .... in a bottle
Pills were clumped together in bottle when they arrived and I thought they had melted together . But a quick shake fixed that. I am BEYOND thrilled with this purchase. The most affordable price I’ve seen from anywhere along with the highest quality there’s Vitamin D and the oils/gelatin used to make the capsule .I have a Vitamin D deficiency and have previously taken prescription Vitamin D that cost almost 4 times as much and didn’t work nearly as well. My energy levels snap to attention . Will repurchase .
- Should I pay for more expensive vitamin D?
Should I pay for more expensive vitamin D? This vitamin D seems to work just as good as any. it’s easy to swallow Amazon gets it to me in about a day or two. I was taking way more expensive vitamin D only to find out I’m probably wasting my money because I feel the same way as if I took the $20-$25 a bottle expensive brand. This is a no-brainer buy it you won’t regret it.

I am very deficient in Vitamin D, and have to take at least 5,000 IU of D3 daily.
This is a bottle of vitamin D3 in rapid-release soft gels. Each softgel contains 10,000 IU of D3. The gel caps are a reasonable size as well. While they are not micro capsules, they are still small enough to be manageable for most people. I have a very hard time swallowing pills, and can get these down okay.
I even like the yellow bottle and yellow pop-top lid. The only downside to these capsules is the smell. While not overpowering, they do have an odor I do not care for at all. But I will put up with that for the good quality capsule with a good dosage at a reasonable price.

This small gel capsule is my favorite. They may look large in the photos, but trust me ... these are small for Vitamin D3, especially at high dosage.
I need to take a high dose of D3 everyday. 20,000 IU means I was taking 4 or 6 or 10 pills a day depending on what I could afford on sale. Not only do I only need to add only 2 to my daily regimen, they are small GEL capsules as well! I have so many pills to take that any little change helps. This one covers two areas: size and number. The cost is reasonable enough I can put on auto send. I am a I’m not mad at them lol.

I bought these OTC D3 gel caps because my levels are really really low when I go to the doctor. They’re easy to swallow and no side effects for me. I’ve been taking this particular brand since December 2020. Hopefully when I go to the doctor my levels will be normal. Extra benefit: I have noticed my right thumb nail which usually has a crack in middle, it would grow but only to break off bc of the crack. Now, the crack is gone and this is the longest it has grown in years.
