@@JimNicholls Yeah, I knew the video said G-kites, but as I was typing the comment, my eye caught my Mini-Canard from HQ that was out & assembled from me working on it earlier in the day, making me type HQ instead! LoL The one I have is 24 inches (61cm) from tip to tail & 30 inches wide span (76cm). It hasn't flown in well over a decade (almost 2 of them)!
Wonderful video of this historic design. Well done flying before the next snow arrives. I enjoyed seeing it fly along side the Roller. Now you have a family of light wind kites with the Manta and Canard to join in. I am sure that little boy from Afghanistan was a natural kite flyer, they have a rich history of kites in his home country. Can't believe that the loop pulled undone on a brand new kite. Well done on the running repair.
Kite flying DownUnder.... Carl Gillard Not much snow here so far, Carl. I think you're keeping most of it for yourself. It's a nice kite, and the breakage was unfortunate but not something I'd expect to happen often.
I've often seen this kite design on pictures but not yet a real one in a blue sky. In German stores I could not find this kite until now. It looks good although your anger at the damage on first assembly must be really annoying.
I now have 2 purples. . I need to restitch the older one. That and I just stitched (repaired ) my roller..the HQ Invento Chocolate Roller. .those two are among my favorites
That's very interesting - a strong Roller kite, by the look of it, and very steerable. We have our own kite-fishing company in NZ, Paul's Fishing Kites, but I haven't been attracted to any of their designs.
Pretty keen kite that HQ Marconi. Thanks for the look Jim!
Not from HQ, but another one that's gone with the closure of Gomberg Kites, of course. That company is missed.

michael22846 I wasn't happy, Michael, but it was easily fixed, fortunately. It's a nice kite apart from that problem.
Ukraine flag is the colour of the day! Yay!!
I'd almost forgotten that I had that kite. I must fly it again sometime.
I tolc you this was an interesting kite
Rob Friedman It sure is. It deserves to be more popular, but apparently hasn't sold well.

Yes, they'd go together very well. That Roller is another kite I might buy at some stage.
Im actually looking into the Muller Seagull and Bait Ferry. .even though I don't fish

An interesting video this Jim, I should try and make some light wind kites sometime.
Would these fly in about 5 mph?.
graham vaughan I guess 5 mph would be enough, Graham. It is, according to the manufacturer, and I flew in in not much more.
