Hi, I already layed hands on the game (connections ;) ) and I can assure you the demo was a bad case of only showing you the technical part of the game. Overall this game follows a narrative with cutscenes and dialouges which were all cut out from the demo (except the CGI ones) to solely concentrate on the gameplay, you will encounter a lot of more events in the full version. The gameplay takes a lot of time to come to fruition though, the showed levels were very easy, where you just need the right costume for one obvious obstacle, but towards chapter 7 and 8 where i'm meanwhile it becomes way more complex and you have to think out of the box, like combining several costumes in the air and some of them are very interesting. Bosses also get significantly stronger with "EX-Version" of older ones sustaining more hits and having an higher attack frequency. I don't know that Square Enix was thinking in relasing such a demo but I think it frames too much the bad parts of the game and cutting all the good ones like it willingly wants it to fail. D: Overall I enjoy my time with this and I hope reviewer will give it enough time to scoring it fair and square by playing through the whole thing. (and this game is very extensive I can assure you)

From what I've heard from people trying to make video games them selves, that's actually common. You need to be really precise with your numbers on speed, acceleration, weight, jumping arcs, and have animations that perfectly match it alll. It's actually hard to get platformers to feel right.

The creative minds behind this really went all out with these cutscenes and character designs. Sadly, the demo showed us that no one on the team really knew what they were doing with the gameplay.

I dont see whats so appealing about the designs. Some of the humans especially the adults look horrifying, the costume power ups for the characters look awful as well. The only design i really like is that balan tophat character and the villian who looks like a twili from zelda.
The most amazing thing about this entire game, is that the pre-rendered cutscenes have 4 variations, depending on which version of the boy/girl you picked. Considering this is a game and not a movie though, that's quite concerning.

As somebody that played the demo and really (really) wants to like this game, I hope it is much better at release. I really liked some ideas it had, but it really needs more time if the demo is what the almost finished game is like.
I'm surprised that a lot of people didnt like the game, I liked it, there were a lot of ways to use costumes to get to places outside of seemingly on rails areas. But they could have hidden a lot more things in the stages.

Good music but the animation combined with that announcer voice makes it feel like a sucky Dreamworks preview at the theatre

As somebody that played the demo and really (really) wants to like this game, I hope it is much better at release. I really liked some ideas it had, but it really needs more time if the demo is what the almost finished game is like.

I'm surprised that a lot of people didnt like the game, I liked it, there were a lot of ways to use costumes to get to places outside of seemingly on rails areas. But they could have hidden a lot more things in the stages.

Its sad because the game looks so colorful and wonderful. This could be an epic game if its taken with utmost care.
PLEASE delay this game to rework it, I do NOT want to see the amazing character designs, music, and ideas go towards a fundamentally flawed game!

@@mmchannel8979 I really wanted to give Balan Wonderland a chance, but because Square isn’t delaying the game, I’ve kind of lost faith in it. At the very least, I love the character designs.

Play with all Buttons being a Jump button,unless if you are with an Attack Costume,but you only can Attack,not Jump anymore,and have a Rage Quit when playing with the Box Fox Costume when you Discover you can't control when you are going to Transform

After the demo I'm glad they said they were making changes with a day one patch but I'm probably going to wait a few months for reviews of the updates before I sink money into it
