- Are you getting the "Media Offline" Error in Davinci Resolve when you import your Final Cut Pro XML (FCPXML) timeline? Here is the DEFINITIVE SOLUTION to Sony Cameras Timecode in Davinci Resolve.
The Solution: forum.blackmag...
Download this Tool: commandpost.io...
It would be so helpful if you could also share a solution for Adobe Premiere Pro. It has the same problem.
This looks like it works great - unfortunately no way to select on commandpost which fcpxml it creates - uses latest fcpxml which at this time isn't compatible with resolve
Doesn't work with the latest versions of the NLEs as of March 2024. This commandpost tool saves the xml in the latest xml export settings of fcp, which is 1.11, while Davinci can only support fcl xml of upto 1.10 versions. You can manually export a 1.10 version from fcp but then that brings you to the same problem that we began with. Very frustrating.
find any solution brother
@@faintyfairysoldierson Nope, had to just export a 4444 and send it to the colorist, I'm slowly moving to editing on DaVinci to futureproof myself.
@@mantajsidhu i downloaded a cracked older version of fcp, i got what i wanted
Hi there, did you ever find a solution to this problem?
@@rosskinghorn not me, havent tried in a while tbh
What version of FCPX, Command Post, and Mac OS are you using? I keep getting the error "The supplied FCPXML did not pass DTD validation. Please check that the FCPXML supplied is valid and try again." when dragging my project to the sony timecode toolbox.
I am currently on Mac OS Ventura 13.5, Command Post 1.4.22, and FCPX 10.6.5
Note I do not have the XML files for the clips in the project. I've tried with another project that I do have the clip XML files and keep getting the same message.
Thank you! Much better than the typing each timecode by hand. Which actually didn't work for me. The typed timecode wouldn't save.
Thanks! This was a big headache and your fix worked great !
You're welcome Kevin!
You are my savior! Thank you for such a quick and convenient way!!! (FC 10.6.6, DR 18.6.6)
oh wow, man, you are my hero. I spent hours testing this and searching for answers. One question though, it worked to bring into Davinci, what about round tripping back into FCPX?
Just flagging up to the the creators that this no longer works on the latest Resolve/FCPX versions. Hoping for a fix!
ERROR SHOWING FINALCUT PRO XML SUPPORTS ONLY 1.3 TO 1.10. CANT IMPORT IN DAVINCI,,,, HOW TO FIX THAT??
bro how to solve this problem ?
Hi worked like charm. Been searching for the solution for quite a while. Thank you.
Happy to help you. Have great one!
I cannot locate the exported timeline anywhere. Not giving me the option to choose its location. Please help this is very stressful!
Hi, I have same problem from Adobe Premiere Pro. Do you have this tool with Adobe Premiere Version? or any other solutions for me? Thank you very much.
In my case, my proxy footage timecode start with 00:00:00:00, then i replace my raw (which have different timecode) then export xml to davinci for color grade. My solution:
1. Import the raw to davinci/premiere, look for the exact timecode in the metadata tab.
2. In premiere pro, I change the timecode of the (raw) footages that are mismatch by right click, modify, interpret footage, timecode tab, then change 00:00:00:00 to the exact timecode (premiere pro keep the 00:00:00:00 timecode of the proxy transfer to the raw, that's the reason it cause the problem!!)
3. Export the xml again, it will works.
I have only 3 footage to change so this is a quick way, but i dont know if its came with a tons of footage. Hope someone can firgue it out
Thanks a lot man! This worked perfectly and I saved a lot of time because of this.
Hi, I have same problem from Adobe Premiere Pro. Do you have this tool with Adobe Premiere Version? or any other solutions for me?
Thanks, I just wish Davinci would recognize the crops, transforms etc etc done in FCPX through the xml, but that is not the case. Just get black bars and bad crops, So I figure the only way to really just color grade in Davinci with a FCPX xml is you must make another timeline in FCPX and undo all crops transforms etc etc and then rebuild them after importing back into FCPX. This is also so stupid Davinci has not fixed this at all.
THANK YOU SO MUCH! This is the ONLY solution that worked. THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!
Gracias amigo, salvaste un cortometraje
O único que funcionou de verdade. Obrigado
I have another problem. A project is exported from DaVinci and I open it in FCPX, but I can't relink the original files. Do you know what the issue might be and how to solve it?
I have the same issue - have you find solution??
Hi, this is great instruction but the only problem I'm having is that the audio is getting placed in many seconds after where it was linked to the video in the FCP project. Is there a fix to this?
Thank you very mucho for this solution. It has worked a few months ago, but now davinci won't recognise my fixed xml, for being of a newer version of fcpx. Do you know how can I fix this?
This was a HUGE help. THANK YOU
you can fixed in premiere pro fo footage 10bit xml to resolve ?
still not working
THANK YOU SO MUCH!
you saved my life!!! thank you so so so much
you saved my life! i love yoooou!!!
Issues with the FCPXML export now from the most up to date version of FCPX 10.7.1 XML version 1.10 and 1.11
Fixed it with the Chris' help (CommandPost). Drag and drop the project directly from FCPX, not the exported XML file 👍
Great@@tsferrazza . Thanks for sharing!
This is amazingg!!!!! thank you so much!!!!
just amazing bro.
Thanks to you!
Still not working for me! help!
I installed commandpost by there is no tools in the toolbox section
Hi Ben! You just need to install CommandPost and then open Final Cut Pro. Once both programs are open, you should find the toolbox section. Cheers!
