  • In this video, I'm showcasing Batocera, one of my favorite Linux CFW (Custom Firmware) and providing a quick set up guide/tips on my RG35XX-H.
    Setting up Batocera v40 Beta:
    1. I’m using only one micro-SD card (256GB) for the OS and ROMS (in TF1)
    2. Insert the micro-SD card in your PC (no need to format it if it’s brand new, otherwise you need to format the micro-SD card if it’s used)
    3. Scroll down to the bottom of the page, in the ‘Assets’ section, download the Batocera v40 Beta img here (20240306.img.gz - 1.38 GB): github.com/rg3...
    4. Unzip/extract the downloaded zip file to get the disk image file, then flash/write it onto the micro-SD card using Rufus or balenaEtcher
    5. Take the micro-SD card out (from your PC), insert it back in your RG35XX-H, boot up/turn on your device (to extend the file partition), shut the device down, insert the micro-SD card back in your PC to copy your bios & roms
    6. After adding your bios & roms, insert the micro-SD card back in your RG35XX-H, boot up, and you’ll have Batocera running and ready to use
    7. To add more themes, go to Updates & Downloads - Themes (download as many as you wish)
    8. You can add your box art from Scarper (you need to set up a Screen Scraper account)
    9. To exit a game: FN+start or FN+B (open RetroArch/exit)

      You're right, tech toy tinker also uses this track, I got it from the default tracks on the video editor (Windows 10). 😉

    It didn't really go though the setup in a manner that you would expect to demonstrate all of the steps, from start to finish.

      The video is a 'quick' guide not a 'step-by-step' guide. Besides, the steps are in the video description.

    • @ironcladcobra
      @ironcladcobra  3 месяца назад +1

      Yes, you can copy the bios from the stock OS SD card. The bios normally go into the 'bios' folder which you can find in the 'system' folder in 'RetroArch'. Anyway, if you're still having issues, this guide will be very helpful: ruclips.net/video/0Du0SmGCb-Y/видео.html&ab_channel=RetroGameCorps

    where can I find the latest bios because I installed the beta version but I don't have the bios?

    • @ironcladcobra
      @ironcladcobra  3 месяца назад

      You have to add your own bios, same as your game roms. Unfortunately, I can't share any links on where to find bios because they are copyrighted like game roms but a simple Google search will show you where to find them. Sorry man! 😉

      @@ironcladcobra I understand better, the question is whether there is already a Batocera v40 bios package. Because I only have v39

    • @ironcladcobra
      @ironcladcobra  3 месяца назад

      @@adamk9082 I don't think so but if you have the bios pack from the v39, try it, it should work. 😉

      Just search for mini cake full pack bios on google. you should find the v39 bios set, which works very well with the v40 version, tested it myself. But for the page you should use a popup blocker its annoying :D

    I have an anbernic rg35xx plus model with batocera, I connect it to the TV with an hdmi cable, but it freezes after starting every game. What could be the problem?

      Are you using Batocera v39 or v40? I heard the v39 is having some issues. Also, what brand is your micro-SD card?

      @ No worries, this is strange, if you follow the steps I mentioned in the video description and install Batocera V40 successfully, you should not have any issues. What brand of micro SD card are you using?

    would you mind doing exactly what the description says in a video? i know it is a full guide already, but this is my first emulation console, and I do not want to ruin it.
