Well... Rudy is crazy strong too but just not on the level of the strongest being alive. Just imagine this, Rudeus was actually able to hurt Orsted with his first attack, the earth cannon.
You know Rudeus was aiming to kill this time. Those stone cannons he usually shoots? Normally blunted just enough to maim human opponents. This time he fully shaped them to an actual sharp drill and spun it at max that it was heated up by friction. Making the the projectile so sharp and fast spinning. He pretty much fired a large armour-piercing round at Orsted. Let's not forget his fireball that's overcharged with his high mana output and wind magic to make a bigger boom. That was without the amplification of Aqua Heartia btw, since he dropped it mid-fight. Finally, if that fireball /plasma bomb had went off, it would have had the destructive abilities of an Atomic Bomb (the author says this) as in the LN That's Literally what Rudeus was trying to create. He was prepared to kill everyone there in that moment and if Orsted didn't absorb the attack, most likely every non God person there would definitely had been blow to bits. An Atomic Bomb... Rudeus wasn't playing around.
There's a saying for LN readers which is "Beware the Turning Points". This is only number 2. If they keep animating and make it to the others......sheeeeeeesh
Im calling it. The third turning point is Rudeus becoming something else. I swear to god. These turning points are fucking crazy as hell, bro. I love 'em.
When Orsted put both of his hands on Rudeus's side, he effectively collapsed Rudy's lungs because Orsted knew that mages need to chant in order to use magic which is why Orsted was surprised Rudy could use incantationless magic. Because Rudy's lungs were collapsed, he had to use wind magic on his mouth to expand his lungs again so he can breathe.
The purple fire is plasma. He used the oxygen in the air to super heat the fire. Thus creating plasma magic. Not something anyone could really just do. And he did it without an incantation. You need knowledge on the molecular level and an insane amount of mana. Rudy has both. I wish they would have showed this in the anime; his eye of foresight would show a different outcome each time he moved to protect a different part of his body. Orsted is just that fast at adjusting his attack. Also, hello twitter I'm being helpful w/o spoiling. Try it sometime.
Volume 1 already goes into how he figured out how to separate oxygen and hydrogen from air moisture by the time Roxy arrived. Later he can visualize halting all molecular vibration, i.e. freeze something down to absolute zero.

For magic it's even more rare since the chance of people with a mana pool big enough to cast spells than can rearrange the landscape is virtually unexistent and the spells of Emperor level+ can take multiple mages and enough written chant to make a bible. For races it's similar, the strongest ever and leader of the race is crowned the __ God, there are Emperor and Kings too, but only a couple of relevant races keep an actual serious track of them, with generations and all. The Dragon God Orsted is OP as fuck, even with his nerfs
Pretty sure it was a toss/redirect. Wasn't mentioned in the episode but in the LN he used water god style to deflect her hit and send her flying, Flow I believe it was. The dragons are just native to the area that they were passing through, there is a large range of mountains across the continent called Red Dragons Spine or something like that and they were crossing through one of the openings where they don't normally attack, the Red Dragons Lower Jaw pass.

Little spoiler as regards Eris quick defeat There are many sword styles in this world, one is the water god style. This style makes counter attacks really strong. That's why Eris got clapped, she wanted to attack leaving her open to a counter attack. Orsted even complimented her skills saying something like she is way better than she is supposed to be.
Keep in mind: SPOILERS . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . The Eris he knows only ever reached Sword Saint style. This timeline's Eris reaches Sword King style because of her desire to stand equal with Rudeus instead of only ever being protected by him. Meaning she is on par with Ghislaine and second only to Emperor ranked or higher swordsmen (of which there are barely any).

There are many sword styles in this world, one is the water god style. This style makes counter attacks really strong.
That's why Eris got clapped, she wanted to attack leaving her open to a counter attack.

The Eris he knows only ever reached Sword Saint style. This timeline's Eris reaches Sword King style because of her desire to stand equal with Rudeus instead of only ever being protected by him. Meaning she is on par with Ghislaine and second only to Emperor ranked or higher swordsmen (of which there are barely any).
