For those who might worry about them, the guy manages to get the girl out of prison and they go live in the forest together. It's part of a whole serie so you might want to check it out too!
There's also a Miku version, the guys singing are the people who wrote the song. They also are utaites. This is one of those songs that was released at the same time and has two originals, pretty much.
A more proper interpretation of the story: The girl seems to be a scholar studying about feelings and emotions. According to the references she uses from other scholars, the theories say that the emotion of love is a fake and does not exist. One day, she takes a walk outside in the forest (prolly for stress relief) and was chased by a wolf when she fell down. While at her wits end, a foreign boy arrives with a musket, takes a shot at one of the wolves and flees with her. During that moment, she felt the emotions of love as a maiden, which increases to the point that she shares a kiss with the boy (Prolly not part of it, but it seems the boy believes the existence of love, and thinks that it is part of nature). She takes on the study and proceeds to proof that love is real and is part of the function of the 'heart' from her experiences. She proceeds to present her theory in front of the church (olden days = religion controls science) which found her study as outrageous and declares that she should be imprisoned, this may push the idea why she questions if the feeling of love is 'evil'.
+Bloody Snipars Nothing, have you read the book anthem. They separated the genders, and told them not to love anybody more than another. Regardless, if you are 21 and a man you get sent to the house of mating, if you are intelligent you breed with a very stupid person. If you're 18 and a women the house of mating is where you are sent to, no matter what you wish for.

So they trade out the one prince for his older brother, and the brothers make a deal: I'll give you your crown if you give me my lover. So in the end, he returns back to the forest with his lover. Otherwise, it'd have to be a kinda dead end deal, because if this song comes second then.. that just kinda means they don't end up together, which is dumb.
