- Here is a video at the transfer station with a load of garbage so tall the loader is having a hard time trying to move it.
Here is what happens when the garbage trucks dump too much garbage and trash that it over loads the transfer station.
Watch how the front loader deals with the heavy trash.

@@AllThingsDope. Smells are subjective. Trash smells fine to me, but there was a secretary at my last job who wore horrible cheap perfume and it made me gag a bit every morning lol

I think it comes from some type of food processing plant that uses dyes.
I'm glad you asked because I was getting ready to ask the same question. My first thought was coffee for restaurants and coffee shops that come in 2.5oz and 5 oz packs

@@staintedcards those are actually called trash compactors, usually 836 or 826, a bit different than a front loader but similar design

That loader is way too small! And management sucks there! Loader should have come in after every second truck.
It’s true the loader is too small. As for the loader coming in every second truck, it’s not that simple. The TS workers can only load one 53’ trailer at a time so when one is in the process of being full there is a process to finish’s it up. First it need to be leveled out with the crane. Then pulled around to be weighed. If it’s legal weight then it gets dropped. If it’s heavy it has to come back around to have some garbage dug out. After that the yard goat has to hook up to another empty trailer to pull around. So while all of that is happening more garbage trucks are lining up. So the worker in The loader is trying to make more room for them to dump so they just pile it up and move garage out of the way. It’s done this way to keep from making the garbage truck drivers wait for 15-20 min to dump.

Fantastic video, well edited and put together! Haven't seen the tipping floor so full before. Funny watching front-end loader spin its wheels while trying to push the backlog. Also funny watching the black bag travel around with the front-end loader which got caught behind the bucket. Love your work, keep it up.

It’s true. It really should be sorted by the customers before they put it in their bins. Some people just dont want to bother with the effort.
@@AllThingsDope. And a lot of that is economics. If you read the flyers that companies like Garbarino send out regarding what can be put in the recycle and what not, few companies will pay someone to do that kind of sorting, especially when they can't even get people to apply for work much less show up. The home owners that have jobs just see two cans and a red glass box that they pay a lot of money to get picked up. Many just no longer care.

Yeah the garbage gets piled up like that if previous trailer is overloaded and need pulled back in so they can take some out. That take a lot of time while at the same time other trucks keep dumping.
After the trailers are loaded they end up at a landfill where they dump it all. Thanks for watching!

Forget about the Volvo go get a Cat 982M help your operator fell more comfortable and he will work longer hours

In the video a WM dumptruck unloads a large number of what appears to be unopened boxes of something. Could the transfer station staff open the boxes and keep or sell the contents? Do they have to report finding valuable items among the trash?

Why does the crane not have a shovel. I think it would speed up the loading process a lot.
Meant to move stuff from one end of trailer to other. Not pull stuff towards itself.

thats a very small amount of trash for any sorting or recycling plant that could all be worked through in a day by a full team of workers

It looks like there was still room in the trailer when they stopped loading. Is there a scale underneath showing the weight and that's why they stopped?
No scaled under the trailer. The TS workers have a rough idea of how much garbage is in the trailer by just looking at it. They can only load 55k-60k pounds of trash in the trailer. So they try not to over fill it. It’s a pain to have to unload the over weight. Much easier to add more if needed. Thanks for watching!
I use to work at waste management yard and I had to use a backhoe with 4x4 on to push the wall of garbage up and it was not fun to do it
The TS workers here have to do the same thing sometimes if the big loader goes down for any reason. If they didn’t have a back up rental on hand, then they would use the backhoe. Until the rental comes. Thanks for watching!

Hello what's the job called where the semi truck collects load and drives to landfill to dump I'm interested in position.
Thats usually just a CDL-A hauling job. If you have your CDL it should be pretty easy to find those jobs right now.

Hey! Oh yeah. We some times get a compactor from a campground in the mountains. It only get emptied like once a month maybe. So it’s just extremely rotten camp food and garbage that has been marinating for weeks. I have never smelled a dead decomposing body before but I imagine it’s pretty close to how that smells. @@AllThingsDope. it’s really more the loading system. There are three bays two for dumping one for the trailer it’s all loaded by a bucket loader (which sometimes is broke down) there isn’t even a crane there
At the land fill we go to they use cat d8 dozers.

Right now this is the cheapest and quickest option for getting rid of trash so that's one of the reasons most places In America choose to landfill instead of recycle
Depends on municipality. Even here in Marrakech it's what the market will bear. In our experience recycling is tantamount to reselling. They just sell rubbish components as a commodity to whoever will buy it.

I have some ideas to improve this facility. The rear panel is lengthened and made movable. The manipulator behind it gets more freedom of movement and the boom is extended and equipped with a material sorter. This can be optionally equipped with a clamshell grab, a polygon grab or a tine grab. A gantry crane, which can be equipped with various grippers, is installed across the entire width and depth of the driveway. The front loader is equipped with a new front shovel that can be opened. The mast on the front loader is equipped with a quick coupler so that the multifunction shovel can be exchanged for a tree grab without much effort.
This looks to be a small transfer station, why would they spend all that extra money for minor improvements? Money doesn't grow on trees my guy.

A recycling center half goes to the cinerator that I have gets recycled bait shop and fish market go green lumber yard all the way up to the recycling goods it all gets made into concrete blocksPowerPp a steam power plant goes well with methane gas and oxygen just add a little steam power and the little thing to go to too clean water with steam power

I have a strong belief that these workers all lost their sense of smell a long time ago. I can't imagine how they work there without gagging from the stench
Thats a pretty accurate belief! They haven't necessarily lost their smell but they just don't notice it as much as other people.
Smells are subjective. The smell doesn’t bother me one bit. Cheap perfume however makes me gag.
Well not completely, but there is a thing named "odor blind" what kinda means, you are SO used to the smell, that you dont notice it anymore.
Its probably the same with people working at a restaurant or at McDonalds. After some time they are so used to the smell of the food, that they dont notice it like other people do. Same with people who sell perfumes.

This is in Forest Grove Oregon. Yes Walsh hauls the trailers to the landfill. Good eye!
