Yep, I have the same feeling. Some people are just incredibly selfish and don't want any other person to benefit in any way from things they bought, and rather throw them away instead of donating them. Also, donating or selling things is a lot more effort than just throwing them away. I hope that this kind of selfishness becomes more and more socially unacceptable, and more effortless ways to give away things will be introduced soon.

To all garbage men watching!!! Take a few mins to rip open couches and stuffed chairs when you get them you never know what you’ll find. I found watches, pocket knives , cell phones and TONS of change!! Once I found over $5 in quarters in a couch!!! It’s worth the time to check them out.

Where I live (US) the non-trash items: beds, iron, couches is picked up by a different truck. Much of the metal items would have been picked up by someone who recycles metal.

Trash trucks surprise me with how much they can hold. The rear blade mostly just pulls the trash up into the hopper and the compression force couldn't be very many psi with such a large blade. You would think that a shredder mounted on the back would be more efficient. They can tear through anything and would take out all the empty space allowing for better packing.

Do you actually have a specified bulk waste pickup day? At least here in Minnesota, USA we don't. Most bulk waste has to go out a little at a time, have a special pickup scheduled, or be taken by personal trailer directly to the landfill.

This is a Fairfield Cleanup truck, Campbelltown contract is using while Fairfield council has stopped Suez doing cleanup due to COVID, once things go back to normal this truck should go back to Fairfield. Also that white Dennis Superior Pak RL Liam seen is a Fairfield cleanup truck too its known as RL796.

Hi Daman, as you know, these are my favourite videos and you also know that I am old school when it comes to garbage trucks and so my technical knowledge of this particular vehicle is non existent and I don't know the correct terminology for all the working parts as they are today. I am fascinated by this truck because the packer blade has a far greater reach than I have seen on other trucks that you and others have featured in videos. The swallowing of the couch early in the video demonstrates what I mean. Does this indicate that this vehicle was designed specifically for this type of clean up? When these trucks were first introduced (not long after dinosaurs left the earth) my father referred to them as "compactor " trucks and refused to operate them after having his friend fall into the hopper and crushed by the "blade". I must point out that my father was not the operator of that particular truck at the time. I like the creative way that you hide street signs and it satisfies my obsession with safety which I must say that some RUclips creators find annoying especially when I point out things in their videos that may identify them and their home address. I am trying not to comment on such things now but I do worry for their safety. So sorry for this extremely long comment and I will delete it if you wish. Great video Daman. In Kenya the garbage collectors calls themselves JOBLESS MILLIONAIRES. Out of this garbage, 10%would end up to the dumping site, rest would be sold as used and others to recycling plants.

Yes most local councils have a specified hard waste collection day. In my area it’s only once a year. That’s why you see these big piles.
It's too bad you didn't go to the transfer station or garbage dump where they go. I would have loved to see everything come back out again.

Hi Daman, as you know, these are my favourite videos and you also know that I am old school when it comes to garbage trucks and so my technical knowledge of this particular vehicle is non existent and I don't know the correct terminology for all the working parts as they are today. I am fascinated by this truck because the packer blade has a far greater reach than I have seen on other trucks that you and others have featured in videos. The swallowing of the couch early in the video demonstrates what I mean. Does this indicate that this vehicle was designed specifically for this type of clean up? When these trucks were first introduced (not long after dinosaurs left the earth) my father referred to them as "compactor " trucks and refused to operate them after having his friend fall into the hopper and crushed by the "blade". I must point out that my father was not the operator of that particular truck at the time. I like the creative way that you hide street signs and it satisfies my obsession with safety which I must say that some RUclips creators find annoying especially when I point out things in their videos that may identify them and their home address. I am trying not to comment on such things now but I do worry for their safety. So sorry for this extremely long comment and I will delete it if you wish. Great video Daman.
