Thanks for sharing these cool dumping videos! I actually miss hauling garbage. Did rear loader and roll off. The guys you meet in that field are awesome.
No problem! I’m glad you watched. Yeah I have been driving garbage trucks for 6 years now and I’m still not tired of it. It’s quite satisfying job! Dirty but someone has to do it.
the WM truck at 7:30 didn't go back far enough. They left a big pile on the ground. I know there is probably a machine there to push anything left behind in to the container below.
I've been driving a F/E disposal truck in the Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada area for the last 20 years. Everywhere I push out around here, the garbage gets double-handled by an excavator. Here, the trucks dump straight into the transfer trailer thus eliminating the middle man. With just a little cleanup and leveling, you're good to go :)
There transfer station in the Portland area that are like that as well. Seems like extra work. But they are also five times bigger than this little transfer station. It’s not the most effective set up here. But it works for us! Thanks for watching!
@@AllThingsDope. Let me stop by for a visit so I can play in/with the garbage and with the machinery a little bit? Know anybody in Toronto or in Florida?
Yeah much better wish scrapyards near me were like this no nails, screws and glass all over the floor which the crane guy hates cleaning up 😁 and would save them lots of time and money
I want to live in the city or area where these trucks collect the garbage. I want to put anything in the garage without having it rejected. From the sounds of glass bottles breaking, there is no recycling either. I'm jealous!!!
Awesome video again ! I always love some close up like at the end while leveling the load. One day I might see something cool like a fashion magazines pile or even clothes 😆
Ah so it drops into the big articulated trailer beneath there, I was wondering how that worked as our transfer station is different from this one. Ours is a big site with various tipping points, general waste is in a shed like this one but it gets tipped straight onto the floor where it is scooped into big piles then dropped into huge (mostly Terex) shredders by grab cranes, the shredded waste then goes into the trailers by conveyor belt where its taken to be incinerated or dropped in a landfill.
@@AllThingsDope. Its a Suez operation, they do everything big like that. Only garden waste doesn't go there and instead gets emptied at our own council depot, from there its loaded into skips which get taken by hook wagon on to some place else. I'm not sure what happens to it after that, my guess is it gets made into fertilizers or burned.
I drive a garbage truck and sometimes I inadvertently make a little mess on my customer's property. Giving me the occasional wave, a smile, or thank you goes a long way in this business. It's the little things that can make the difference whether or not I clean up after myself.
The truck is a roll off. It has a compactor on it that has a automatic tailgate. The driver has to plug a hydraulic hose in called a wet line. Then he can open and close it in his cab with controls. Thanks for watching.
The loading of the trailer below seems awfully inefficient with the claw used to compress the trash . I assume the trailer is covered before it drives to the landfill. A more efficient transfer that I've seen has a battering ram at one end of the trough and the trash is pushed into a box trailer, and this compresses the load once again. The box trailer is then closed and driven to the landfill. an ejector panel built into the box trailer empties the load. This is how I've seen it done in Toronto, Canada.
Yeah it’s not the most effective. Definitely room for improvement. This is a small transfer station though, so I guess it works for the current time. thanks for sharing. Also thanks for watching!
I enjoy watching your videos, I was puzzled as to what happens to the trash that is placed in that container. At the end, I saw that it was a semi trailer. Where does it go from there. Is this a landfill or waste to energy plant were it is burned. Thanks for the information.
Thank you! So this facility is only a transfer station. So after the garbage is loaded into the trailer it gets hauled off to the local landfill to be dumped and buried I believe. Thank you for watching!
Just subscribed to your channel, drove roll off for years and loved it…I have never seen a roll off self contained packer that has the hydraulic lift for door…I always did the break away packers and ratchet binder door self contained packers…Very cool thanks for sharing!! Love the content keep it up!!
yes we do recycling. the problem is these trucks are loaded with garbage from house hold bins and dumpsters. so the driver obviously isn't going to sort the customers trash at the curb. It is really up to the customers to take the time and sort everything properly. If not then sadly it ends up at the landfill. Thanks for watching.
@@AllThingsDope. all householders in the UK actually sort their trash /garbage at home ,separate collections for glass and paper and some plastics ,garden waste ,trimmings etc go for composting, waste food to anaerobic digester to generate power ,building products have to go a special recycling centre ,so the amount going to land fill is significantly reduced, thus helping the world in which we live .
Yeah I guess there is a lot of people who find that the dumping videos are satisfying. Or maybe they are just curious since they never get a chance to see it IRL. If you don’t mind me asking why did you watch?
Long story short, yes I have found money and yes a body was dumped here but none of us saw it because it was hidden in a barrel. Investigators came here the next day to review cctv and found which truck dumped it and at what time. They found the body later at the landfill.
@@AllThingsDope. wow thats crazy clearly the money wasnt enough to retire on or we wouldnt be getting these great videos but hey finding money any day is a good day..when i was 15 my uncle worked for the local trash company and hired me for the summer to help him and his partner..it was great the only thing i had to do was stay in the truck when we went on the hill to dump it.

Yeah he wasnt very accurate! Thats ok because they have big load bucket to push it all in. Thanks for watching.
Where does the garbage go after the trucks dump it in the pit?
So in the pit there is a 53’ open top trailer that is being loaded. Once it’s full of trash it gets transported to a landfill. Thanks for watching.
I think they burn it
The ocean.
It goes to a garbage eating dinosaur, like the one Fred Flintstone has under his kitchen sink.

Have wondered if the trash go to the landfill or a incinerator or both after the transfer stations ??
