  • Are you interested in getting into servo-controlled animatronics?
I love projects like this where you get a taste for Imagineering by controlling head and eye movement.
The real magic comes along when you can program animations that orchestrate all the movements together, and maybe even sync it up with dialog.
But the options for creating and editing sophisticated animatronic movement have been practically non-existent for hobbyists.
Fortunately, there’s a new free program called Bottango that’s made just for this. Not only can you record, edit, layer, and playback routines of any length, but you can also export the routines as hardware code that you can trigger on standalone boards like Arduino.
You can find more info at Bot Tango.com. And for more tips like these, check out Maker Update, each week on the Digi-Key RUclips channel.
