Holy heck I just realized that the Curve card opens up a whole raft of options for those of us living abroad. Without foreign transaction fees to contend with I’d be able to consider some very popular cards that were previously off the table-namely the Citi Custom Cash and the Chase Freedom Flex!

You know what’s funny I just realized, I have the novecta, hahahaha. Kind of just happened I guess 🤔 Usually whatever vacation I’m planning I’ll choose a trifecta that will earn me the points the fastest; if they share transfers partners, and start spending on that trifecta for a while.
Someone else brought that up to, completely agree; especially gas or groceries. This trifecta is still pretty new, so it’s interesting how everyone is coming up ways to improve it!
Love the outside the box thinking with this Trifecta setup here Calby! Definitely looking to add the Bilt Card soon, and if you can utilize Hyatt as a travel partner with Bilt then it definitely makes sense. Great video Calby!
The few main things from Chase & AMEX that are missing are the monthly foods credits, hotel credits, airfare credits, lounge access, travel protections & purchase protections. But weigh that against quicker points for travel…
You’re 100% correct. One thing I will disagree with is the credits; I feel like those are just on the card to justify the cards in the first place. However airport lounge access is definitely lacking. I think the Venture X or Amex Platinum would also make a decent 3rd card.
Is it necessary (or a good idea) to manage the closing date on your dummy MasterCard to do this? I’m gonna try it for the first time this month, but before I did so I changed the closing date on my IHG card to the first of the month, thinking that way no statement will ever close with the restaurant charges still on it before I move it to Bilt. But I guess I have no idea how quickly Curve removes the charge from the dummy MasterCard when you go back in time.
Yes! I should have mentioned this, but getting your statement date to appear on the 5th of the month, so payment due date on the 1st, should be a long enough time to fully move over the transactions off the dummy card. Usually takes the same amount of time for a return to process (2-5 days).
🫡 few questions though, so you say trifecta but you need a card to charge it on? But visa doesn’t work🤔 so your really running a 4 card setup? Or your constantly paying down the curve 500$ limit? And clarification each purchase can be moved once back in time but it’s not limited to how many purchases you move back?
Yep, you're absolutely correct; I think the Hyatt card clouded my judgment, haha. You can use a Visa debit card though! Btw never charge anything to the Curve limit, you can't move that transaction. That is correct, at this time the USA version you can move as many transactions as you want from my knowledge.
Very interesting concept. I'm now thinking of hoping on the "god trifecta". One question though, doesn't the curve card cost $5 a month to use the turn back time feature unlimitedly? Or does that not apply in the US?
Hahaha, I guess I’m going to have to officially change the name to the God Trifecta; since that seems like the popular choice, I’m all for it! So far, the US version is free and doesn’t offer a paid version. However you can only move a transaction once within 30 days.

Man this is awesome! You are so good at making me want to do something that I don't normally do. But I'll stick with the Amex trifecta this time 😂.... Great video Calby
Never heard of this, interesting stuff. Is this not against Bilt’s TOS? Have a feeling if tons of people started doing this BILT would restrict it in some way
Not necessarily, I don’t think, I mean you are still making the transaction; just moving the posted date. At least in my opinion. ultimately Bilt gets to make the last decision, unfortunately. They would prbly restrict it, thankfully I’m a small youtuber; keep the hack in the family, haha
Great video, Calby! With the dummy card to be used with the Curve card, isn’t it better to use non point producing card as once you move the charges over to the BILT card the points (on dummy card) will just be deducted once you start the refund?
Thanks! And I see your point, but I don’t think it matters. The only downside I see is if you redeemed or transferred your points you would just have a negative point balance. Which can could in useful if you’re lacking a little bit of points to reach the 1k increment transfer rate.
@@Jiggy609 True, the only issue with a debit card is you always have to make sure there are funds. And just in case the Curve card protections fall through, you’ll have another chance to try the dummy card’s insurances
Great video but the only issue I see is if you already have a high earning card. I have the sapphire reserve and the Bilt card. I’ve booked through the chase portal and gotten 5x back on flights. I use the chase card in my Bilt wallet for 8x back on Bilt dining all month and I get 3x back on all travel including transit and parking. So the only place this combo would outshine is on other categories, grocery and food by a marginal amount. Very interesting though.
Oh for sure, I assumed this setup wouldn't be for everyone but just wanted to put it out there if it happens to help at least one person. But you've got a pretty cool setup that works for you and that's awesome!
Great presentation of the case for the Bilt-based trifecta with no/low annual fees! It’s amazing to see how much it captures our discussions. Since I have the cards mentioned in the trifecta (Bilt. Curve, WoH, IHG, MileUp, and soon Aeroplan), I’ll definitely be trying it out. Crossing my fingers that it lasts!
Right Daniel! It was funny when we were talking, I was actually working on the video, haha I really hope it works out for you! Did it work on June 1st for you? Eh honestly I’m a small RUclipsr, I doubt I’ll get that much attention
@@CalbyNg - I moved a transaction on Rent Day and got the double points, so it seems to be working for me. I’ve been continuing to think about other possible cards for the trifecta, particularly Mastercards so that you could just use Curve and only think about the cards on Rent Day. I’m thinking that Citi Premier could work well as the card that transactions go onto initially, since it has grocery and gas categories. Also Savor One, but that one would require another card to turn it into transferable points.
@@CalbyNg - For the DP, I noted that the Curve card did show up on my Equifax report (but not Experian or Transunion so far). Not a big deal, since we're only focused on my wife's 5/24 status at present (we're taking turns pursuing Chase cards).
@@danielturner8798 Nice nice! I'm glad it also worked for you as well!! Yeah I've heard the Citi Premier as a good candidate, maybe I'll have to revamp the trifecta soon, haha
@@Jiggy609 Oh yes, what the 5x on groceries is referring to is keep that charge on the Citi card and moving the rest to the Bilt card; since at this time Bilt doesn’t have a grocery multiplier
Very interesting to see this. I'd never even HEARD of the Curve card until now. I don't know that I'd want to put in the work of "moving" all the charges to the Bilt card on the 1st of every month, but I can certainly see some willing to do it. Plus I love not being beholden to one issuer and not dealing with Chase's 5/24 and Amex's increasingly ubiquitous popup jail that almost everyone is landing in recently. Nice outside the box thinking here! The one drawback seems to be that these are weak overall on providing sign-up bonuses.
Hahaha, I get it; it's definitely a lot of work. And yeah the SUBs are lacking, I just see this setup as a long-term keeper setup. If they don't nerf it somehow, haha. Oh man, that pop-up jail has been getting everyone recently. I'm actually thinking of ways to bypass pop-up jail, so we'll see how that pans out Thanks Ziggy for the thoughts and for watching! I appreciate it!
Great video Calby. I'm seriously considering this setup. Have you had any problems with Bilt with this setup? does it bring up any red flags in their system when they see so many transactions happening at the first of the month? There's only so many meals a person can eat in a day, I would imagine seeing 20 transactions at restaurants in one day would be of concern to them.
Thanks! So the only problem I've ran into recently was I received an automated call from Bilt asking if all these transactions were fraud charges. I called back answered it wasn't; and ever since I haven't had a problem. I've moved over 40 transactions before (to get 2x back and Bilt status).
Have you had/heard of any issues coming from cars issuers for moving all your transactions on rent day? I've got the Curve card and I'm thinking of adding the Bilt card because this setup sounds awesome, but I don't want them to restrict my account or anything.
Personally I haven't; I've been using this method for 10 months now without any issues. But I understand how you feel. Some other people I know that has been using this method have also had no issues moving transactions. However they've only been using it for about a week now.
Hello sir - can you tell me what I would do to find out if I could get 4x back on groceries or not? I know you said maybe, but I’m not positive how to check
I was lucky and got 3x on SoFi and 1x added to that through curve. But they ate limited to a one year promotion. But it was 4 percent on all purchases.
How about adding the Citi double cash as a catch all and 2 Custom cash cards (1 for gas and 1 for groceries) to the built and curve for dining. If you want to, add a Citi Premier for access to Citi partners. The built has the insurance the Premier lacks.
Oh actually, I like the Custom cash idea to cover gas and groceries! The Citi double cash though, I think I would rather place the charge on the Curve, Bilt combo because you’ll get 2 points per cent, which you can use to transfer out to travel partners. Personally I’m just curious, how do you justify the Citi Premier? In my opinion, it doesn’t move the needle for me
@Calby Ng In my scenario, the double cash is default for dining until rent day. You are right, all dining can transferred through bilt but, the 2 custom cashes can not. If that is important to you, that is where the Premier comes in.
Great video just applied for both cards using your links! *Question:* Do you recommend putting all Dining and Travel purchased on the provided curve card (Then using the time machine feature on the 1st to the BILT)? Or is it better to put those dining/travel transactions on another Mastercard (instead of the provided curve card) and then transferring it on the 1st?
Appreciate the support Dr.Naim; great username btw!! Oh sorry I should have made this clearer, you can only move transactions using the the charges you put on the Curve card. I know it’s kind of confusing. Have you watched my in-depth review of the Curve card? I think it could help clear up any confusions about using the Curve card. ruclips.net/video/7g1rNQtH3qo/видео.html
@@CalbyNg you are the MAN! You earned yourself a new lifetime subscriber haha. I just wanted your in depth review of the curve card. You said “you have to make the transactions on another card and then move them over. You don’t actually ever put a transaction on the curve card”. Just was hoping you can clarify that part 😊 your previous message here said “you can only move transactions using the charges you put on the curve card” so I just wanted to make sure I don’t mess this Bilt back up 😅😅🙏🏻
For the dummy card, it might be interesting to see if the Robinhood Debit card would work well since it rounds up each purchase you make to the next dollar, then gives you (on average) a 40% match on that round up as true cash back. I have not tried this yet, but I doubt they would do a take-backsies on those roundups when you port them over to Bilt because they do the payout once per week, which if timed correctly, might just be free money.
@@CalbyNg On some further research into the Curve cardholder agreement, how should we interpret the following? "Limits on Curve Card Use: We know most customers will, but you must use your Curve Account and Card responsibly. For example, you can’t use it for such things including, but not limited to: [...] ● in a way that your payment card issuer, a card network, our acquirer and/ or payment processor, would see as an abuse of the payments system, [...] ● “cash recycling”, which means using your Curve card in a manner to receive rewards on the Linked card or your Curve card, in a fraudulent manner"
Ooooooohhhhhhh no, lol. I mean technically it's not fraud? I'm using the curve card as intended to move purchases to get better multipliers hahaha. Seriously though I'm not too sure; good catch though!
It's not bad, it does sound low but AA pts can generally be valued at 2 cents per point. However, if you move your groceries to the bilt card on the 1st it would also earn you 2x points on groceries. In my opinion, I would put your groceries on the God trifecta, Bilt card because you'll earn Bilt status and the points are more flexible
@@CalbyNg thanks! I figured so. Was wondering why there was discussion about what the third card should be if the points aren’t actually earned on that card?
If this wouldn’t ding me on 5/24 it would be a great setup for stretches where I’m not working on a SUB. Alas I’m not willing to give up those 5/24 slots to SUB-less cards just yet
Sorry, I’ve done a video about the Curve card before if you want to check it out: ruclips.net/video/7g1rNQtH3qo/видео.html But basically it’s an all in one card you can use to charge multiple cards.

Signed up for the card, app gets stuck on document verification successful and can't proceed on to the next step. I uninstalled the app and reinstalled but run into the same issue. 😕 Reading the reviews many users are experiencing problems with the app. Is there another way of applying for the card? Yeah, I've opened Pandora's box on this one, haha. Hope it doesn't get patched because it does bring more transactions and applications to Bilt; you would think they would be happy about it, imo.
I usually agree with most of your takes Calby but this one I have to respectfully disagree. Your travel category in this set up is very weak. Especially with lounge access, and premium benefits like Purchase protection and many others. I have a rule and that rule is one of your cards in your trifecta cannot be a hotel or airline specific card because it doesn’t have as much synergy and also because of devaluation. In case of devaluation, you’re able to transfer to a hotel or airline that hasn’t had a recent devaluation and able to get more for for points.
@@ShortJoey This concept is still new, so suggestions to make it better are always welcome! I've actually been hearing a lot of good ideas in the comments. Thanks Benj!!
Hmmm interesting; what's your thinking behind that? Because personally I think I would prefer to put dining purchases on the Bilt card; the 2x category covers a lot though! US Cash+ I can see being a good addition
Oh so it’s actually interesting, when you charge a purchase on the Curve card, as long as it goes through, it’ll charge the card you select; for example it’ll charge straight on the IHG Travelers and you can “Go Back in Time” once within 30 days. @@CalbyNg The question I'm trying to poke at here is what dates work best for credit utilization reports. When I charge the dummy card with all of the dummy charges, then shift them all over to the Bilt card, the ideal state is to have my dummy credit statement report 0% utilization to a credit bureau. --And also have the Bilt card do the same 0% report too, ideally. Assuming I have full control of when those due dates lie, what's the correct order to time those dates so rent day comes and goes, there is no carried balance that accrues interest, and so that each credit card statement in the trifecta reports a 0% utilization? (Or does utilization only appear as >0% when the statement is not paid by the due date?)
@@Quroe_ Ohhhh gotcha Roque. I moved my Bilt statement date to the 10th of every month; so I can pay it off the moved over transactions before the statement end date. And for the dummy card, I’ve put the statement end date on the 5th; so the transactions can move and get refund before the statement end date.
So, the Curve card wasn’t necessary created to move transactions through time; rather if you charged the incorrect card you would still have a chance to correct your mistake. Therefore to move transactions you need to have two cards, one you charge the transaction on, then on the 1st of every month charge it to the Bilt card, to take advantage of the double multipliers. Oh and also some people have brought it to my attention, I completely forgot about this, but your second card can be a Discover card too!
Shouldn't the the max amounts on 6:14 be less? For example, for the "other" category If the max points you can earn on rent day is 10k points then you can only spend $5,000 because you would get 2x points leading to the max of 10k not spend $10,000. Or am i not understanding the rent day max point thing correctly?
Also since curve supports Discover instead of having "another" MasterCard to first post transactions too and then go back in time could I just use my Discover card as my primary card and then on rent day change it from Discover to Bilt or does it have to be a MasterCard?
@@voscra So based on my undestanding and reading the terms, the 10k pt max is only on the bonus pts earned on rent day; so I would assume the normal earned pts wouldn't count. However I could be incorrect.
@@iinvest8308 Ohhh huh, what are you seeing on your end? Because I am also in the US, and I know a friend of mine just signed up recently using the link I gave them
Personally I like the Hyatt card; however if you just want 3 cards, and no debit cards, Discover credit cards could work, the Chase Freedom Flex, and the Citi Custom Cash, some people have recommended, are some good options!
It has to be a MC or Discover CC or a visa debit if you want it to be on the curve card to receive the charges until you are ready to move them on the first.
Even after research, I still don't get how the turn back time feature works. Wouldn't doing this raise a red flag from fraud or something from the dummy cards company? From what I understand, all of the charges are going on the dummy card and posting but then being moved from the old card by canceling the transactions and moving it to the Bilt card? You would think that the dummy card company would question what’s going on especially doing this every month. What are your thoughts?
Maybe? Now that I think about it. I think ultimately what happens is the dummy card just sees I “returned” a bunch of stuff, and they think that’s normal? Either way, I’ve been doing this for a couple of months, and so far it works great; hopefully that doesn’t change
@@CalbyNg I went ahead and got the curve card to try this out. @@jmbwashi Oh actually that's a huge benefit of the Curve card, there are no foreign transaction fees! So a card like the Citi double cash with a 3% foreign transaction fee, if you load it on the Curve card and use the Curve card to charge the Citi Double cash then you avoid the foreign transaction fee! I think so; because it has been very useful and the welcome bonus gives you an extra 1% on top of your credit cards multipliers. Even better yet, since in my experience when I applied for the Curve card, there is no hard pulls and it only shows up in my Equifax credit report
Oh yeah, I maximum the crap out of the Amex Platinum. I use the Airline Credit Hack, find hotels close to the $200 price, I signed up, me and my wife, for Clear; and Global Entry, along with both of my parents for Global Entry. I also use the Saks Fifth Credit Hack, get a bunch of streaming services covered, and use the Uber credit; paired with the free SavorOne Uber One membership (extra discount). I also signed up for the free Hertz Presidential Circle status, and use the Amex discounted Hertz rate with the free 4 hour grace period, to rent the Tesla I took to Canada. I also book long layovers, to chill at a Delta or Centurion lounges and “steal” a bunch of free food, lol.
Btw never charge anything to the Curve limit, you can't move that transaction.
That is correct, at this time the USA version you can move as many transactions as you want from my knowledge.
Gotcha, so what card are you using to make the purchases on before you transfer it to bilt?
Very interesting concept. I'm now thinking of hoping on the "god trifecta". One question though, doesn't the curve card cost $5 a month to use the turn back time feature unlimitedly? Or does that not apply in the US?
Hahaha, I guess I’m going to have to officially change the name to the God Trifecta; since that seems like the popular choice, I’m all for it!

Hahaha, but are you sure? Curve is currently offering a metal variant for a limited time 😉
Never heard of this, interesting stuff.
Yeah best option would be using a debit card as the dummy
It was funny when we were talking, I was actually working on the video, haha
I really hope it works out for you!

@@danielturner8798 As always, thanks for the data point Daniel!
Third credit card can be custom cash for 5X on groceries
Ooooo yes! That would be a good third card 👍
People keep saying this but won’t your cash back get wiped when the refunds posts to Citi after moving the transaction to Bilt?
I'm actually thinking of ways to bypass pop-up jail, so we'll see how that pans out
Thanks Ziggy for the thoughts and for watching!
Thank you, @@CalbyNg
Oh so Bilt teased the possibility on Reddit; currently, it's not available. But I'll let you know as soon as they do!
I don’t see how the Hyatt card works with Curve because it’s a Visa credit card and Curve does not with with Visa credit cards, only Visa debit cards.
No, you're 100% correct, I just really like Hyatt points and the World of Hyatt card, but the IHG card might be a better fit, or the Citi Premier
I was lucky and got 3x on SoFi and 1x added to that through curve. But they ate limited to a one year promotion. But it was 4 percent on all purchases.
Right! At least we can take advantage of the extra 1% for a little bit

The curve card doesn't allow visa in the US...

Interesting thought process! Then what do you think as the third card being the Venture X?
@@CalbyNg Yes! That could work

What day works best for a statement cycle end date with the dummy card in this system?
Oh so it’s actually interesting, when you charge a purchase on the Curve card, as long as it goes through, it’ll charge the card you select; for example it’ll charge straight on the IHG Travelers and you can “Go Back in Time” once within 30 days.

Curve Card Review (USA) | The ONLY Credit Card You'll NEED [literally]
ruclips.net/video/7g1rNQtH3qo/видео.html
Any updates with bilt or dummy card flags😂?
Everything still works 👍
I did receive a call from Bilt making sure the transactions weren't fraud, but after I called them back it was fine.
If you eat at restaurants a lot then this could potentially be the most powerful setup.
Right! Hopefully they’ll add groceries soon. Or someone actually suggested to use the Citi Custom Cash to get 5% back
So i understand BILT is a Mastercard, but why would it be necessary to have another Mastercard in order to use the back in time feature ?
So, the Curve card wasn’t necessary created to move transactions through time; rather if you charged the incorrect card you would still have a chance to correct your mistake.
Therefore to move transactions you need to have two cards, one you charge the transaction on, then on the 1st of every month charge it to the Bilt card, to take advantage of the double multipliers.
Oh and also some people have brought it to my attention, I completely forgot about this, but your second card can be a Discover card too!
I tried this in month of September, but none of my point have posted 😢
Also you don’t have to be a renter to make this trifecta work for you!
@@voscra i was thinking the same thing.
@@voscra So based on my undestanding and reading the terms, the 10k pt max is only on the bonus pts earned on rent day; so I would assume the normal earned pts wouldn't count. However I could be incorrect.

@@boombstc1 100% correct!
