I’m so skeptical about this. I think the fact that you figured out this trick is genius and deserves praise, however, knowing Bilt and how they clawed back your points for referrals that they couldn’t verify, I don’t think I’d trust abusing this. And with all of those refunds on your other cards, it looks like manufactured spending on those credit cards every month. Risky stuff here bro!

The first 2 weeks or so the card worked fine but now every transaction gets declined. I've tried other master cards and support has been working on it for over 2 weeks. Curve can now be added to Samsung Pay and Garmin Pay. Initially, when I got the card in December 2022, I wasn't able to add it to Samsung Pay, just to Google Pay. Now it solves the P2 problem, I just gave it to her, while I'm using Samsung Pay myself, which can be used anywhere, whether or not they support it (except Walmart, where they figured it out).

  • @TheCreditFrog
    @TheCreditFrog Год назад +6

    Thanks for clear explanation Calby! But regarding going back in time feature (specifically for Bilt Rewards Day), I think doing this for like 3-5 transactions per month is fine, but if you're moving 10+ transactions monthly (canceling them on the other card, moving them to the 1st on the Bilt), this is 100% going to set off 🚩s with not only Bilt but all the other cards that you're refunding the transactions on. I can't confirm this for sure, but I would just proceed with caution when employing this strategy as 2X Bilt points on regular everyday purchases, IMO, is not worth causing potential problems with your main banks. I would only do this using lesser known credit cards with banks i don't care about.

    • @bryantorres1011

      I'd run dinning transactions from debit card and rewind those to rent day for the 6x. I'd program the curve to designate other categories to their appropriate card.
      I wouldn't use the curve card at all for travel. As that is more of a piece meal puzzle anyways.
      Quite frankly, I don't care about Wells Fargo either, they are scummy AF, so I have no qualms about hard churning them and getting banned. I just don't want to sour my relationships with other banks.

    Question for Go Back In Time (GBIT) feature:
    - For instance:
    + Bilt credit limit: $10k
    + Apple Card credit limit: $2k
    - I load my Apple Card to Curve Card, make it as a default payment then use it to charge every single transaction. However, my credit limit in Apple Card is only $2k and I have to wait until a rent day to activate the GBIT to get double points on Bilt. What if I use $2k in Apple Card then GBIT to Bilt card on a rent day? Is it gonna hurt my credit score as a credit utilization?

    • @CalbyNg

      @@CalbyNg just as a follow up on this, I used the curve card today on BILT rent day and just tried using it straight up to pay Plastiq and it went through after an initial decline with the text message from BILT to move forward with a payment that charges a fee. Unlike last time I tried directly with the BILT card I still got declined but this time I did not get declined using the Curve card. So since it works I'm not gonna question it lol. Gonna keep paying my mortgage on BILT rent day via Plastiq using my curve card. It will be very easy to make up for the 2.9 percent fee using Hyatt for redemptions with the 2x rent day promotion.
      Update: looks like it only earned 1x points because it coded as rent. So probably not ideal unless theres a high value point redemption in mind.

      It was intended for two main things:
      First if a place you thought was going to code as dining, like a bakery, but it doesn't you can GBIT and switch it to a catch all card instead.
      Second Curve officially promotes; I don't prefer. You can move transactions to free up credit limits.

    One concern I have about the Curve card is if you are mugged or lost your card and phone. If that happens then someone will have free rein of your curve card until you can find another phone or contact support to lock it. But what protection will you have to the transactions that they get away making? And who would you contact with this fraud, Curve or the credit cards that are charged? Your credit cards have this protection from you being liable, but the Curve card is like a middle man.

    • @Quroe_
      @Quroe_ Год назад +2

      If I am reading the paperwork correctly, Curve wants you to contact them and not the cards that were fraudulently charged down the road. I think the key words to CTRL+F for is "double dip".
      You can also lock your Curve card in your app. As long as they don't take your phone too, you've got a hot second to lock it down.

    • @schoolruler2
      @schoolruler2 Год назад +2

      But yes, you can lock the card in the Curve app.

    • @schoolruler2
      @schoolruler2 Год назад +1

      @@CalbyNg They made it a World Elite Mastercard because it has the highest swipe fees I "heard" but don't quote me on that. Plus you would not owe Curve any money if your card got stolen, you owe your normal cards the money. And understanding what protections you get is a mess. In the U.K. version of the card people can't use their country's protections for lost credit cards because it is technically a debit card there and Curve offers their own insurance there. What protection there is under U.S. laws is not something I could find on the Curve site. They just want you to contact customer service when it happens.
      I love the Curve card, but I still wonder about the worst case scenarios.
