I bought a 1985 2M6 SE in 1994. It kept throwing code 32. This is what I did to fix it. You Rock Brother! Puzzles are fun! 29 years later it is still working.

You remind me a bit of myself. For my Chevy Cavalier convertible project I did things that maybe didn't "have" to be done but it's sort of addictive. You want everything to look brand new - I get it. Looks great, keep up the good work.

You did fine, Now you need to : "feather Edge" it. Which means what you already know what you need to do, And that is : "wet sand it" Then buff them, then Polish them, Yes a 3 step long arduous process, But the end result is well worth the "payoff" for sure.
I love what you are doing, and you seem to be having fun doing this. GM cars are well worth the time and effort to repair them, after somebody else has abused and neglected them.

Awesome video. I'll use your tips to try to fix my code32. If it was mine, I'd do the tail lights before paint - they will be removed for paint anyway, and the jobs are pretty independent of each other. I'd also remove the sail panels so you can spend time cutting away the old adhesive before paint. It took me a long time to pick away all the old glue, and I'm sure you want to do it right, and you don't want to be rushed when the paint guy's ready for it.
I really like the new windshield, I think I'll get mine replaced due to some glare and deep scratches.
    Keep it up!

Your Painter definitely needs to know about all the WAXING.... Man, you should have never have gotten WAX within 10 FEET of that Car !!!! As delivered to you it was as wax-free as possible, which is what a Painter needs !!! All that wax just made the painter chance of success a whole lot more difficult. The Painter is nwo going to have to go to extensive effort to get all that wax off there EVERYWHERE it got into before they paint if they want the paint to stick and not fisheye like that mirror did.. Bummer, because when you got the car it was completely de-waxed by time and a painter would have loved and and had a much better chance of getting a get paint job laid down.

    • @fiero880
      @fiero880  4 года назад

Have theclearcoat is missing on that car. The entire car is going to have to be sanded completely down from top to bottom which is already been discussed with the painter. The attempt with a buffer to “clean” some of the surface is not going to affect any of the prepping or work that the painter is already going to have to do. And if I really wanted to do a hack on the wax I could simply re wash the car again with purple power.

    • @olsketchmo

@@fiero880 ok, thanks. Was just thinking about if the side trim is left in place, etc, when painted, and bits of wax under them etc, no biggie, just tryin' to help.
VERY NICE CAR ! Sun beaten, yes, but amazing how 'clean' otherwise compared to many.
Thank you for doing this project and making these videos. I myself like the videos as they're done, felt relieved to see someone imho 'normal', LOL.
The videos struck a cord with me. In Nov 1983, 2 month into a young age 21, I ordered a red with gray interior 1st year 1984 Fiero 2M4. It arrived at the dealership on a Friday in March 1984, and I drove it home brand new that night so happy and excited!... 4 days later on a Tuesday night I wrecked it with only 241 miles on it ! LOL... ah youth... I failed miserably to understand and acknowledge the vastly different vehicle dynamics of a mid-engine compared to a front engine rear wheel drive, and it bit me to say the least. Could only look at it as a rather high cost of 'tuition' to learn that lesson 1st hand, LOL !
Thank You very much for making and posting these videos about your Fiero Project.

here is one thing you missed and im surprised myself that you missed it since you seem to be very meticulous about your fiero you have a yelowe wasp nest on steering rack near shock you just
installed at time frame 24 min plus also i would never put an oil leak additive, the law of nature
will catch up with a negative somewhere, change seal properly drop motor, all those fix in a can
are no good for your engine and only bad for your wallet and benefits the company of that selling
that snake oil, there is no such thing as a mr fix it in a can but there is loose your doe buying it
another way out of it is, if its not to serious of a leak make a custom oil catching device like sliding
a cardboard piece between 2 custom made channel guides under oil pan and change cardboard every month or somthing similar
