Gorthill farm contracting harvests willow on the Mountstewart road in Northern Ireland using a Claas harvester along with Fendt and Massey Ferguson tractors
That must fuck with commutes a bit. 'Wasn't there...a grove here? Like...eight hours ago? Where am....what turn did I take? THERE WAS A BIG SHRUBBY BIT AND NOW IT'S A VACANT LOT, BERENSTAIN UNIVERSE WHY?!'
Is it fed to livestock or used in the pulp/paper industry? Never heard of harvesting willow trees before! Only thing I've ever known them good for was to put holes in your pond levees. Pretty neat video!
Joe Pugh I would imagine it's for the renewable hear incentive. So it will be burnt in a large incinerator to heat water for heating houses or offices etc.
I got ya! I work in a wood yard at a pulp mill and we use every other piece of the tree to burn for power so wasn't sure if for that or for pulp. Never seen it harvested like that though. Must be a tough as hell chipper!
I'm from Northern Ireland and never knew this existed here lol
Thanks :D
very cool, the drone shots were awesome!
Nice, always wanted to see them do the willow harvesting, as they do our silage.
Awesome aerial footage !
I think you are challenging to take the new style video with drone.
What drone ? DJI Phantom, Inspire, or Mavic ?
Was this before or after the "cash for ash saga?
