This is amazing. Can you use this for Biomass or Wood pellet boilers and how do you dry this out? (I think willow is pretty SAP heavy). Final question - how do the maths work out in terms of minimum HA for this to be commercial. Would love to give this a crack!

Sorry for the late response. Yes the willow is sap heavy in the growing season, therefore it’s usually cut between October and March when there is the least sap in it. Its dried in a shed with ducks in the floor where air is blowing up. It’s turn every 6 weeks or so for 3-4 months I’ve a video on this. Its used for wood boilers drying grain, heating houses and water, some people use it for bedding animals and in firelogs. It’s a small market at the moment as there isn’t a big push towards biomass boilers for either commercial or residential use. This farm has around 75 acres and and buys in another 100 on a 3 year rotation (3years growth for 1 harvest). It’s very interesting crop but not recommended unless the supports are in place this is in Ireland UK has better market for it

@@paddymcguinness2545 sorry, I asked this question badly! I meant what do you do with the willow chippings after the harvest? Bit the kit you use is impressive!

It’s dryer down to around 20% moisture then it’s used to dry grain, used to make zip fire logs or it does go to bord na móna
