  • The Australian Army’s 10th Light Horse Regiment has been granted ‘Freedom of Entry’ into the City of Perth for the first time in the Regiment’s 108-year history on 25 March 2023.
The Regiment celebrated with a ceremonial march through the CBD’s Hay Street Mall with Australian Army armoured vehicles front and rear, horses leading the troops, swords were drawn, guidon flying and band playing. Before the march, members of the public witnessed the Lord Mayor, Mr Basil Zempilas, present Commanding Officer of the 10th Light Horse Regiment, Lieutenant Colonel Daniel Wright, with a scroll to signify the bestowing of freedom to the city.
The parade provided an opportunity for soldiers of the Regiment to celebrate with the people of Perth, recognising the strong relationship the 10th Light Horse Regiment has with the community.
