My dream came true the Philippines had already ah-1/F cobra 2 units also fun fact in the time of Marcos he requested for a cobra helicopter but was canceled about 40 years later we finally got it
Looks like fun huh? It IS! Been there done that. REDSKINS Company D (Atk Hel), 158th Aviation Battalion (Aslt Hel), 101st Airborne Division (Air Mobile) 1971 Camp Evans, RVN Man in the front seat and in the door .
@topgunsnake720 Welcome home brother! Saw a Cobra Hunter/Killer team working out down river about 4 kliks out on the Vam Co Dong River near NISB Ben Luc one night in 1970. It was the first time that I saw and heard the mini gun in action. They circled the target then dropped a flare. The lights went off of one while the other still hovered above. As soon as that long brrrrp stopped and the solid stream of red tracers impacted, the second bird turned off his lights and followed suit. Only three passes were made by both. It was amazing to see in the 02:00 hours. Never forgot it. It's still in my mind like a permanent picture. Thanks for the great job you Cobra operators and the Huey operators did for us there in 70-71.
@@CobraOneTwelve Your welcome, All of my buddies at school recommended it to me about 3ish months ago, ever since then I've watched all of ur videos. I am a big fan!
It's always the marines who stays with the cool looking stuff and the army ditched the cobra (because they like to have every superiority against any enemy) the marines i think they kept and upgraded the cobras to the viper cuz it's a little cheaper and lighter for Amphibious operations [Someone correct me] {also sorry for my bad English}
