@@ChuckMil thank you but when you shoot people in the head close enough to see the life drain from their eyes, you never forget, I did my duty honorably.
My brother-in-law was a pilot in Nam on one of these; he never was the same man! He was a good man, a quiet, calm and distilled man after four years. Highly decorated, went above and beyond. He flew several craft. He saved many men he saw stranded on a mountain top during a flyover in a war zone, returning repeatedly. The light was out somewhere in him, the playful edge he had; I really can't explain it, anyhow, yeah! He grew up in a military family. He attended military academies growing up, so I guess he felt it was his duty. He was a pilot out of the military. 🌟 The men couldn't have been in better hands.

Drove Hueys in 1969 and it wasn't quite like the video but you sure get a good idea as to how it was supposed to be. The accuracy on the video was quite a bit better than we did. LOL Best of luck! Music is still great! Also CCR!
The industry has come up with a very romantic idea about helicopter flights into combat zones with rock and roll music behind them. My grandfather tells me that when they flew helicopters into combat zones inside there was a very strong smell of gasoline and that many fear soldiers would throw up and some would panic that the flight was nothing like See show in the movies
My husband died from the effects of Agent Orange. So many unexplained cancers, lung and kidney issues, cancers and more. My sweetheart died in my arms. The VA is understaffed and always wants more info.
My ex-101st airborne cousin said getting thrown into the Tet offensive battle for Hue, Vietnam was a relief. Because he was able to see and shoot at the people he was fighting for the first time.
The whoop, whoop of the Huey was the sound track of the Vietnam War. God's own lunitices. A waste of time, money and innocent lives. It was a no win win situation! God bless our vets and military. 😢❤
At NKP, we listened to the whoop, whoop of the Jolly Greens,, to and from their search and rescues, escorted by A1s, became routine after the Easter invasion, in '71

the uh 1 huey gunship helicopter was the amazing attack helicopter in the Vietnam War
It was amazing ! But no way in hell it could carry 4 18 shot pods. I flew them '69 - '70, 129 AHC
Sound of huey ,something about that stirs the memories of repelling from one many times
