Thanks for that kind comment, Jane! I'm so glad you're finding some useful ideas to use. With me, it's WYSIWYG - (what you see is what you get!) - and there's no changing that! There are a few folks I've scared off but overall I couldn't ask for a better group of quilters to engage with. I sure appreciate you following along! Happy Quilting, Lea Louise
WOW!!! I used your tips. Everything matched up so well that I was able to complete a project in an afternoon. I'm subscribing and can't wait to learn more.
It's not difficult, Mandi! Just take your time at first and you'll get very comfortable before you know it. It's great fun to have all those finished HSTs piled up on your table! 😊 Thanks for watching! Have a great New Year and Happy Quilting, Lea Louise
It certainly did, Charlotte! Now I just need to get a bright binding fabric with the same color...and then there's the back to consider as well. Still more creative ideas for this quilt! Thanks for watching. Happy Quilting, Lea Louise

The addition of the pink pieces really makes this quilt. I loved how you took the smaller pieces of pink and made them work. I will definitely be trying this HST method! Thanks for another great quilt idea to try in 2024. Happy New Year to all the great quilters and especially to you Lea Louise for all the great videos you so generously share .

I keep missing the info when I replay the video ... What is the dimensions of the FQ that you trim your fabric to in order to get the markings to line up easily ... I realize these are 5 inch sections
Good question, Anna! My fat quarters are cut to 15" x 20" which gives me 3 squares by 4 squares for a total of 12 squares measuring 5-inches each. After they are sewn and cut, each one is trimmed to 4.5-inches and they finish at 4-inches. It works great for making lots of HSTs at once! Thanks so much for watching! Have a great New Year and Happy Quilting, Lea Louise
It can definitely take some practice, Jan. There's a lot of fabric in the corners. Try pinning the seams in place so they stay where you want them. Use a new, sharp needle so it doesn't drag or have difficulty going through. You might even try the next size larger needle as it may go through a bit easier. Then sew slowly using your left hand to guide the fabric and keep it moving. I some times use the point of my seam ripper or a stiletto in my right hand to help move that side along as well. This should help at least a bit. I hope this helps. Have a great New Year and Happy Quilting, Lea Louise

15x20 (3 by 4 rows)

My problem comes when trying to sew through all the material in the corners, even though I press my seams open.

Your quilt is gorgeous !! And all the little tips and reminders are much appreciated !!! 🤗
But maybe not, maybe 15x20
You got it! 😊 Have a great New Year and Happy Quilting,
Lea Louise
Focus on the method not extra projects
Thanks for you input, Bonnie! Appreciate you watching. Happy Quilting,
Lea Louise
I love your idea but your demonstration doesn’t look very accurate. So, you may want to stress accuracy. Thank you
Thanks for the observation! Have a great New Year and Happy Quilting,

I think 15x15
It's 4 5x5 blocks by 3 5x5 blocks. So 15x20. 4 blocks across, 3 blocks down.
My fat quarters are cut to 15" x 20" which gives me 3 squares by 4 squares for a total of 12 squares measuring 5-inches each.
