    • @macplastering

      Some times if it is small enough 1 coat is ok I kind of did 2 coats with same stuff here I mixed it tight and the gear I put in made it set pretty quick also so was all go with it 2 coats is always best as 1st coat can shrink a little but again as smaller areas wont be to bad

    Hi Mac, another great video. Just a quick question, I’m a decorator who also plasters (not to your standard of course but good enough for my own jobs), was just wondering what ss trowel you would recommend? I’ve had a marshaltown ss before and a rivet went on it, and now my ox ss has two rivets gone on it. So don’t fancy going with them again. Are the refina ones good? I’ve got the super flex and plastic already but mean one for laying on. Thanks and much appreciated!

      Hi my friend I have been sing this refina ss for a long time now and still very impressed and happy did take some breaking in but when it was it was as good as any trowel i have used If you go back to some of the unboxing videos years ago you will find how old it is I have a tonne of tools that me and my friend use day in day out on the amazon page / store if you fancy a look its in the description on the video

    • @macplastering
      @macplastering  Год назад +1

      So if you got access to top that's great you could block the bottom on a pour some bonding g down from top it's not exactly the way I might go about it but it should work if you could get some screws in to the side of the old plaster to help tie it in would be great then when all set gently scrap the ceiling side down a patch in with skim again all gently

      @@scorpionnetherrealm8937 So if you propped up a board with like plastic on it underneath to hold spot in place make sure power is off and then put bonding down around it could work well or the other way a plasterboard above and try adding from the underneath it dose sound a tricky job but for sure try get screws in the old plaster to bond it all together some pva painting on joints will also help

    • @macplastering
      @macplastering  Год назад

      might be best way there is other options but complicated casting plaster with canvas/jute cloth in you would mix plaster and fill out hole with it and it will set fast but again would need to have screws and ova the edges also if you propped something under will help massively will stop the gear dropping out until it sets hard to explain what i mean if i get some free time i will try make a fake thing up as this could be a good video
