Bro I remember when I was 18 my first subs was some boss audio 12s on a planet audio 3k amp which was not a 3k amp more like a 300 watt amp😅 and I thought I was the loudest on the block with my 50 dollar Walmart subs lol till this dude with American Bass XR's pulls up beside my car shaking my car 😅😂 that's when I fell in love with American Bass I'm now 26 working my way up I got 2 15 inch HD's dual 1ohm I love them bad boys

That top plate and t yoke is massive, there's where all that weight is coming from. The steel thickness on the sig is probably sufficient the king just has a ton of steel so there's no way it will over saturate that amount of ferrite. Plus the kings thickness in the middle may be because it has a dropped T yoke so it has more room for excursion. Each should deff take some serious power, my custom built 18 has a 620oz motor and it seriously yawns at my 5k amp. I don't even worry about hurting it as long as it doesn't get a clipped signal it's good for anything that amp can throw at it and any type of music because it can not physically bottom out the coil it has a 7" deep coil gap the 5 layer 12" spider and mega roll surround is the limiting factor and it only has a 3x3 8 layer coil so I know either of those monsters will take a lot more than mine.
I'm not sold on the king! Mega surround, more excursion, 600+ oz magnet, and blah blah blah doesn't mean squat. All these Chinese big power subs fail. The King is just another Skar DNR. Just look at the TS Parameters, and you'll see Bob is already lying about the parade when comparing online to the actual manual. US made and Russian made subs like DD, Fi, and Deaf Bounce, just to name a few, are standing strong. Because of quality and engineering over quantity. Not even a Y35 magnet on the king smh. No way I'd pay $1300 for a Chinese production sub. I get it though! You like what you and I'm all for that, but the king just like the other AB subs like the signature, xmaxx, godfather!, and the hd will prove unsuccessful
@OTR420 mine was made by Fi with all custom upgrades. Kevlar cone, beefier spider, 7" dust cap, tensile leads and you name it. The omega is specifically designed for 6ths. Mine are just on steroids.
You should check out the American Bass Hawks if you want SQL. The Hawks are the XFL and XR combined. You get the best of both worlds. Tons of SPL with NO sacrifice to the SQ. Wish I still had my Hawk 1244s

Was supposed to be $260 with a DD made 212 box but the box wouldn't fit in my civic so he sold me the subs and I stuck 1 in a single skar box just to see how one would sound on my kicker kxa 1600.1 and I'm really happy When I get both in I'm gonna be absolutely satisfied. Wanted my daily to do a 145 to 146 under 40hz and I think I finally got it. Got a sodium ion Bank to hook up too and it'll be perfect for me.
I'm going back to get the box Friday tho when the weather is better and I can let it hang out of my trunk just to get it home. Cause the box is over $200 alone on the DD website. Keep it for when I get a SUV.
You know much about the Godzilla line? Been trying to decide between an Xmaxxx Monster, Godfather, or Godzilla for a single sub build and there is not a lot of info on the Godzilla and I'm not sure its worth the extra money for my needs. I

Deaf Bounce 4512R is discontinued to my knowledge. They were also only 4500 RMS. And these have similar features but they truly are birds from a different breed. I do not recall DB using 100% Carbon Fiber cone, 4ga push terminals with triple sewn leads. I also don't like DB the brand because it's like Sundown... Just a bunch of followers IMO
I just bought a vfl comp signature 12 d2. By any chance do u know how many cubic feet and tuning the box needs to be for this sub. I'm surprised american bass dosnt have box specs
2.5-3.3 CUFT Net tuned to 30-36hz. 1 inch thick wood minimum or use double layers. As far as tuning goes, it is more or less personal preference. I like 28-32hz. The sub will do fine 30-40hz tuning but will get loudest around 30-36hz depending on your cabin gain

One is probably motor structure specs and the other is just a magnet specs those extra answers that go from 600 to 750 probably make up the rest of the motor structure but that's just my opinion
My guess is China like all other subs and equipment.... Only very few select subwoofers and amplifiers are made in USA today 🤷😁 that is for all brands. Sundown and DD only offer certain subs that are USA made. DC audio is probably most USA brand to date

They're made in the exact same Guangdong China factory as the Deaf Bonce subs hell the manuals are even the same and specs being off like the similarities are astounding other than the price being doubled 😂
Still financially recovering from this purchase 🤣 bought VFL Comp Signature 12 D2 and (2) AB XR 10 D2 all in same week. $1275 + $650 + $300 = $2,225 🤦🤦🤷. The VFL Comp Signature 12 D2 will make me a pair (already have 1). I want to switch Xmax 12 D2 out for them on VFL Comp 8k
That KING and the new DB drive G7 are both carbon copies of the Deaf Bonce apocalypse DB4515/DB3515'S the 35 having a 3.5in coil and 45 having the 4.5in coil also their half the price and have been out for a couple of years already! My 3515's weigh in at 90lbs each the Japanese 3.5in coils can take 25k watts all day long IFFF you have clean power! Love to see ya try that with the American bass or DB Drive lol-ol-ol
I've clamped 16 000 out of this one so far already. And as far as deaf bonce goes, good luck finding 12s (4512r) in stock. They're never in stock. Trust me, I've looked for 4512r never instock
@@PeterFeltersnatch852 If you know anything about death bounce, you will know that the first two numbers in series are the size of the coil and the second two numbers are the size of the sub. So a 4512R is a 4.5 inch coil on 12-in surround. 3512r is 3.5 inch coil. HUGE DIFFERENCE
the ratings are so different because they don't base it on anything. I can't believe they are still using max specs even though everyone knows they are a lie. Like you said it has more to do with the warranty anyway. They just wanna be able to say whatever they can so they don't have to replace your subwoofer if you blow it based on those ridiculous ratings...

AB has issues with reporting ts specs and accurate motor weights. The Godfather 12" is listed as having a 400oz motor and a 450oz motor on the same page. Its easy stuff and there really is no excuse for their inaccuracies and not knowing the spec of their own subs. Should have to get DATS to have an idea what the sub is about. I do like the brand but its slowing looking more like scuzzy business practices and less like incompetent marketing

I would not touch a Sundown or PSI sub. If I do American Build I will be using FI Audio sub and US Acoustics amps. I like DC Audio but everyone has DC it seems. NEP Audio went down in March, they were originally my first choice over FI Audio. I like how they weren't as popular and they had tons of color options which was cool
I would not sell this sub bro. I have a pair of X-Maxxes, a pair of VFL comp sigs, and I will probably end up with the pair of kings too 🤷 only time I sell my equipment is if someone is willing to pay the price so I can upgrade 💯

Looks like the king has the Deaf Bonce Apocalypse motor. Super expensive sub too $1,399 is a lot for a 12. Hopefully it will pound on an 8k

The 4515r is also only rated 4500 RMS and King is 6500 RMS. And they are $50 price difference FYI
