- The clock is ticking and we are scrambling to get the bikes ready before we head out of Los Angeles for the journey out to South Dakota for the 84th Annual Sturgis Motorcycle Rally! We get right into preparing our Dynas for a few thousand miles on the road. This includes new oil, motor mounts, engine stabilizers, bolts, fairings, and more. Check out what it takes to get these bikes running at peak performance for a few days on the road!

It's so awesome to have friends to work on bikes and ride with!! I'm 67 still ride hard but most of my old friends are no longer here!! Enjoy every second!!

I'm 67 too. Only one friend still rides on his one owner 93 FXR. Unfortunately he doesn't seem to like to go more than 100 miles from home.
That's awesome. I worked on Japanese and European bikes for 20 years, I only rode and worked on a couple Harleys. I got my First Harley five years ago. I'm never going back. I love my Harley. Easy to work on, comfortable, and nothing beats the sound and the look. I got a job doing something that pays more and I don't have to be inside a shop all day, my motorcycle career is over, but I plan on buying a couple more Harley's now that I'm making good money. And I get to work on my own bikes now! Keep on ridin man!
Love that you guys include the food and restaurant venues. It's all part of the reason we ride and makes the adventure more immersive for the viewer.

I just took my 06 fxd from central Ohio to Beaufort SC. On my way back I did a one day 715 mile ride. Only stopped for gas. Wish I had a windshield or even a small fairing😂 can’t wait to see your adventure to sturgis this year!
😂 That’s tough for sure, down in those low country SC areas, the bugs be thuggin. You’ll find a gang of them stuck to the entire body after speed walking down there. Rollin 75, headlight beamin, you’ll be able to check the bug density %’s with your weather forecast app. Still better than living & riding in Ohio tho.🤷♂️ If you roll through central NC, hit me up and we’ll cruise 🤙 or point you in the direction of used windshields lol

@@THRASHINwe came from Australia and did that in 2018 with some friends from Canada, had the best time. Can’t wait to get back over there and do it again. Do you guys do your bar and riser set ups for a 2012 Roadglide.

Those clip on windshields you guys got on are so badass. That being said there's nothing wrong with the man wanting to go windshield less. There's something to be said for the joys of enjoying the atmosphere around you as you travel long distances.

385 south of Deadwood is No Bueno!! Road work between the 2 lakes. You’ll need a dirt bike if you decide to go that way.

I rode my 2012 dyna switchback with the 103 engine to Sturgis. Average m.p.g. was 50-52

Back in 1975 me and a friend rode from Boulder, Colorado to Vegas in on day, over 700 miles, He was on a Sportster and I was on a hard tail ShovelHead, we were so tired we stopped about 10 miles past Vegas and slept in the dirt until the boiling sun woke us up.

@@JohnSmith-de2mz it's pretty nasty in Victorville these days. It's a big town now. I remember it in the 90's real quiet and empty little town. The Vagos still have a strong hold in the Victorville high desert area.
Make sure you drop a bunch of vlogs. I was supposed to go except some who took me out at Perris raceway.

For those who don't know, are the riding characteristics decidedly different on the Dyna's vs. Baggers, and what effect does that have on the overall comfort, speed, safety, etc. of the long road trip and back? Maybe talk about it during the Vlogs along the way toe Sturgis (?). So many will be following your journey. Best wishes for a fulfilling adventure. Bless.
Cole is one of very few people I've heard. Explain dyna motor stabalizers properly. It's that simple! Not some residence frequency vibration garbage. My dyna came with the harley locking windshield like that. The heritage softail style. They buffer kinda bad over 80. But my family was like omg. Why did you buy a old man bike. Lol sold it years ago thoe.

Bros... you gotta check out the cruisemate throttle lock, it's a direct swap for the harley star knob setup and it's just a flick of toggle switch. It's a game changer!!!
I’m sure this year‘s Sturges will be better than last year‘s rain fest. You guys made the most of it, but that trip kind of sucked. The year prior..(we’ll call it drink fest), was the best Sturges Vlog ever from Thrashin hands down. It will never be beat. I think you commented that RUclips threatened to take down your videos if you didn’t tone them down that year😆 ppl, if they’re still up, do yourselves a favor and hit that series up! Since you guys like to take mountain roads may I suggest you go through Yellowstone National Park to Cooke City MT to Red Lodged MT on your way to Sturgis
Chief Joseph trail is along that ride into Cody , one of my favorite rides . It's worth turning around and go through twice ..

I have never noticed a need for the true track device on my 03 Dyna and I ride pretty agressively it is a 95 in hot rod but truthfully I don't hit the corners like you guys do.

Still have my original O2 died at FXD. Stage 1 kit I put the true track system on it new motor mounts it's a good ride just rebuilt the mikuni carb

The windshield really doesn’t look that bad on the Dyna. F11 Pro works great for keeping my bike clean.
