Reminds me of a brief discussion I had with the head of marketing for a large Southwestern Cessna dealer in 1977 or 78 at the new model year changeover. I asked him what was new, changed or improved in the new models. He replied "P and P." What is that? Price and paint. About sums it up. Basically the same planes they have been building since the mid-1950s.

They’re so shamelessly embarrassed about the increase in prices, they have to throw in the old car dealer scam called the “4 square pack sheet”. Which is exactly what you described. Their scarred to death of the mosaic changes coming for light sport aircraft, all those sleek carbon sexy planes from Europe that put Cessna stupidly to shame.

So now, instead of $700,000+, it will now be 1.2mil. No wonder GA is failing fast. No one can afford it anymore.

A half million dollar dinosaur. Build quality of a 78 Buick, handles like a '40 Ford sedan in the mud, fuel efficiency of a megayacht

You can have my next 172 flight, they just handle too piggy to be fun. Of course I fly a turbo Mooney

@@htschmerdtz4465 You own a turbo Mooney? I'll go for that plane. Mooneys have been my object of desire since EVER.

The fit and finish is poor at best, especially at half a million a copy just for a skyhawk, come on cessna, you can do WAY better, especially for what you charge for these aircraft of 50+ year old tech..
